I have never had an issue with my Feather blades. I use a Chieftain. I have found Asrra blades to be my fav..... I only use the Feathers if I am going to do something that involves a tie......
Know this is an old video but I've seen you mention that DCCS Winter Reserve a couple of times so finally decided to get some. As of the time I ordered, 1PM CST on 9/29/2020, they had 84 still in stock. Not sure if that's for the year or just this batch. Anyway, just wanted to provide an update if you're looking to score some more or if someone else has been looking.
I run out from my 7 O’clocks. So I give a try for feathers, with Anthony shave cream. It is an amazing combo they provide really smooth shave together. Thanks for introducing Feather blades.
I guess I have been wet shaving for about 4-5 years. I just tried some Feather Blades for the first time this month. I first used it on my EJ89 but now using it on the Rockwell 6S on plate 4. I have not used them on my Parker Variant and probably will not. Most of the time I only do a one pass shave, sometimes two and always with the grain. Enjoy your pinball game and Happy Fathers Day
@kensurfs I use a Muhle R41 and a Feather every day :), a little cut is nothing to worry about, the alum will fix that ;). But only use the alum when you need to it can't dry out your skin.
Pearl Open Comb is an amazing razor. Compared with my Gillette 1966 slim adjustable, dare I say it, it's produced more reliable results and has been a very pleasant experience using it.
Hi Ken- Nice shave today; thank you! Good job using the Feather blade in an open comb razor. I thought your answer to the question of whether you would use a Feather blade in the R41 was perfect- never! Take care, enjoy the meet-up, and a Happy Father’s Day to you and your father-in-law. All the best, Ken!
I could feel the pain, Ken! Fun fact, I started DE shaving with a family own Gillette rocket and Feathers! My father in law uses them and them only. Have a great rest of the week and good luck for the meet-up
Great shave, nice burn Ken. I've been try to get that Derby City but they only release it in the winter I think. Yep, Dirty Harry vid was cool, replacing the lamps with leds must be time consuming.. Looked good in the end. Enjoy the meet-up...
Hi Ken, Always look forward to your shaving videos. You’re lucky being able to grab a bottle of Derby City Shave Tonic. I live in Louisville, KY where it’s made and I can’t even get a bottle!! My luck might be changing soon; in talking with Adam who owes The Derby City Chop Shop and the one who makes the tonic, he said that he was making a double batch for the Summer and should be ready the first part of July. Got my fingers crossed!! Have fun at the WCS mini meet! Rick Louisville, KY
When you put that after shave on, you head turned brighter than a red light bulb . I felt your pain , a mile away. By the way ,I used the feather in my Gillette SS today and it worked great. Thank you for the great advice.
Another great shave Ken. I can't use a feather blade, my skin is just too sensitive. My new favorite aftershave if from The Holy Black; gunpowder and spice. Heaven in a bottle, a big bottle.
Feathers are bad for me on the first use, even on an EJ89 or a Merkur 34c. However, I get the best results with them (and the best results in general) around the 3rd shave. I have never used them with an open comb razor, but I plan to, once I get one around X-mas. So, you will be receiving comments on your videos from me for at least another 2 months... Great shave BTW and thanks again for another great video.
I have the very same razor that is very efficient and gives me great shaves with most all blades but I would never use the feather in it. 😱 Your the man!
Shew! Man that shave is what I call a "tear jerker". There's no way I will go anywhere near a Feather blade & for sure, I would not put one in my R41. That's Dracula's favorite blade & razor combo there. Be glad it wasn't PAA's Autumn Factory aftershave you put on after this shave. All of California would hear you scream on that one.
In my high school theater department, my nickname is Gatsby for my style and personality. Would you mind giving WCS' Gatsby shaving soap and aftershave a try? By the way, I absolutely love your shaving videos and always trust your opinion on shaving-related topics. You're the first place I go for reviews when I consider buying something. Thanks!
I used the same combination last week and cut myself in a couple of places. When I slapped on my aftershave I felt like that kid on Home Alone. Never again.
Great shave. I knew it would be a painful shave with an aggressive razor and blade, considering that a painful burn was enough to make you scream loud enough for people to hear. Have fun at the meetup on Saturday
Great shave ken I love those feather blades they gave me a closer shave always and before going to my office I am going to shaved with chiseled face cryogen and use their matching splash and you still have soap behind your ears
Excellent shave as always. Ken, I have a question. Behind you at the door, left from the spectre pic, there is a pic with Sean Connery. From which movie is that scene ? Thanks in advance
Nice shave! You should try Kai blades (also made in Japan). They are much smoother than Feather and almost as sharp. Cheers! P.S. Love the color of the Shave Tonic. Looks like aged rum or brandy 🤘🥃😁
Good afternoon Ken! Interesting choice of razor and blade. Feather Hi-Steel blades are far too sharp for a daily 3 pass shave unless paired with a ultra-mild razor. I have an additional issue; Feathers aren't very smooth on the first two shaves IMHO. YMMV. Great you have the Dirty Harry Pinball game repaired. How does one get reservation for the man cave? lol. Take care.
LOL, still you don't do as I tell you. Imagine a straight line that crosses your Adam's apple. From that line down, shave upwards on your 1st pass. That would have avoided your nicks today. I won't rest my case until you try it at least once. But not with a mild razor and blade. I want to see you trying it with a sharp razor and a feather, and see the difference. As always, great shave. Oh, and please give my personal thanks to Abraham. I just sent him my SOTD video for WCS channel. It should go online soon. Man, I hope I could meet you guys on Saturday.
Is the Feather THAT dangerous ? I have a few feathers myself, but given how some TH-cam Blogs seems cautiously using the Feather - I am not taking those Blades out any time soon... :-)
Have you decided what razor you will use to shave off the goatee? That video done about how Kensurfs should shave his neck was funny. I forgot to watch the pinball machine video.
Ken, the skin is our biggest organ, thus it may react quite strangely. Like when your stomach is acting up for no reason. Sometimes I have wrong shaves with good old stuff. However, Feathers are anti open comb blades, didn't you know it? P.S. Also, such shave is also a part of the deal, don't you think?
Sir, I purchased same razor after watching your previous video. But I dnt use and never use it. It looks dangerous to me !!!! Open comb !!! Sir, You are great. Thank you for sharing
Perl O.C. is good razor, but it can't be abuse, use it too often. ) Especially with Feather blades, this is not very good for English skin. )) If someone's skin is thick like an elephant or a rhinoceros, they can enjoy it in R41 .)) But it's not fo me! I believe that aggressive blades are not for aggressive razors and shavette. Thank you Ken, for your bravery and excellent shaving video.!
The cult that surrounds feather just need to calm down lol. Those blades can't be used by most people because they are extremely sharp and you might not want that. I have very sensitive skin and those feather's do not work for me but they are very nice blades. They'll cut right through your hair and your skin no problem. Hey that's the same alum bar I have.
Untrustworthy. A razor review in which you don't shave completely including your chin and mustache is totally worthless. No one can judge the quality of a razor without a COMPLETE shave.
Feather blades are among my favorites as they work very well in my vintage Gillette razors and of course in my Feather AS-D2....smooth and sharp!
Tim Omick 👍👍 Thanks Tim

Great Shave Buddy, I’ll See You @ The Meet Up Ken! 😎🤙🏼
Hello! good video as always. Tell me please, does you Pearl have an equal blade reveal on both sides?
Slava Azriel Mine does, but I’ve heard from another viewer that his didn’t and he had to adjust the blade before shaving👍
Ok I see. Mine is uneven and one side is more aggressive than another
Better put up some more shelves before the meet up! Enjoy
