There's always been a process for farmers to bring in permitted seasonal workers. I have cousins who farm (in New England) they've done this for years with a crew with a great work ethic who have become almost like family.

This retired CBP agent is a font of knowledge, and clearly a very brave man. Thanks MTF for this great interview!

Excellent. And alarming. And inspiring. First time I've watched a MTN Tough podcast, and love the end where you encourage us to find the golden nugget, and then told us the one you got out of the conversation. That's powerful - don't just listen, but also ponder and apply. Two thumbs for that!
The situations where he'd be one agent suddenly outnumbered by a group of illegals. The air of authority, confidence, and the willingness to shoot if they made it necessary is awesome. And there's another factor - the US is a charitable and as much as humanly possible, a just nation. Illegals getting caught by US Border Patrol know - know! - that they are not going to be mistreated. They'll be detained, feed, have shelter, at worst sent home. They won't be tortured, locked away for years, or murdered. So it's in their best interests to cooperate if caught.

Is it an exploit when the US gov't allows it?
