So I'll be honest not what I was expecting.... but I've had it on repeat on Spotify and it's a growing on me. I don't like the video though, it's just a little strange - Christina is a fabulous performer the video doesn't do her justice. However I'm excited for this era - Xtina has never ever given us what we expected, she has always changed her style through the years. Looking forward to the album. Definitely surprises in store.

This is the best (worst) case example of features ruining a song. The ad-libing by Ty was pure trash. Like, laughable hot garbage. He single-handedly ruined most of this song for me. And we could have done without 2Chainz's part too, but at least his part was enjoyable......it just didn't sound like it fit. I feel she’s doing the same thing with this album as she did with STRIPPED , she’s giving us an OK first single to deliver an amazing full album. She never uses her best songs as her first single for some reason and I feel she’s also trying to cater to a younger audience with the sound, her older fans have not been supportive of her older sound like lotus and bionic so she needs to go and reach for a new market. I have the feeling this song will grow so much and will get so much radio play it will be a top ten on the charts but the one with Demi will probably be the one with a lot of success. Demi will help bring in a new demographic for her. Until then let’s buy her single and pre order her album. We wanted her back so we got her back not a belter song like we expected but a great song that will lead to an amazing album. Let’s be supportive . It’s like evolution, constantly changing and refining except that it depends on the opinion of the audience or just general taste. RnB music won’t be much liked by 60s people who had Rock n Roll as the famous music genre. Eg- Today’ Travis Scott, Tekashi, maybe Drake too won’t be liked by older millennials who listened to Eminem, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar etc. So, we never know, our generation likes Pop, r&b artists like Doja Cat etc. The future might like this type of music created or may like something extremely contrary to this
Mainstream music has been trending towards minimalism ever since the loud/aggressive electro-pop of the late 2000's/early 2010's fell out of favor. I think you're right. The industry really tried to push the whole "warm disco" thing, but it feels like we're still in some weird post-trap trop-pop era that refuses to end. I wish Kanye wasn't so crazy, he is one of the few artists out there who will willingly push mainstream music into new territory just because he feels like doing it. It's such a shame he's such an unstable asshole.

Chart-wise, Dirrty was not a "hit" in the States. Beautiful is what sold Stripped. Dirrty was the attention grabber. Accelerate promises to do the same thing.

It's a grower song. At first glance I didn't like it that much, cause it seemed weird and I was expecting some kind of Ain't No Other Man beat ot something, BUT, I kept listening to it and now I think it's a BOP, my new jam, I love it! She is special, she is the QUEEN.
