This is one of those songs that you hear in the show and you're like "Heck yeah! Go team RWBY!" Then you hear it in the soundtrack and you're like "Oh man, these lyrics cut deep. How did I miss this?"
Bruh, every song in RWBY feels like that lol. I still remember when I went back and listened to "I'm The One"'s Lyrics. Made me lean WAAAAY back.

+DeadSilent Gaming it IS much better... they could do SOOOO much better with the choreography though. I felt disappointed when I saw the trailer because all Ruby did was freaking run and swing her blade around. Compare it to the Red Trailer and just... the difference is very obvious.

Daniell Montblack omg yes i remember falling in love w this ost when i was only on the first ep of vol 2, i got so hype when i finally heard it in the series plus the fight scene was great 😭
It was so cool hearing this play in the first match. But listening to it now and paying attention to the lyrics... it makes me feel really bad. I'm guessing this is about Weiss and her relationship with her father and/or Blake and Adam's. Looking back, it puts some things in perspective, like Weiss's attitude problem back in volume 1 and Blake's self esteem issues.

for Blake i get why people think but its not the same as Weiss. Adam never put her down he just turn to something that she didnt like left. He never did what the song was talking about(until he turn yandere)
in Weiss part her father doesnt want her to be anything but the one to take over the company since Winter left to the army which made her next in line. But Weiss wanted to become a huntress and get away from him so he challenged her to fight the robot she won story goes on.

I can see this song being used to either describe Weiss' relationship with her father, or Blake's relationship with Adam. Either way both are trying to break free from an abusive relationship. They should totally bring this back when Blake has her rematch with Adam or when Weiss finally stands up to Papa Schnee.

+GunbladeXBustersword from what was said in Shane's letter, the fight between Adam and Blake was supposed to have been more of a fight instead of Adam just kicking the shit out of her. and then Yang was supposed to actuallu fight him instead of getting one shotted. They decided against whether it was time constraints or thinking it would be better that way. Probably a little bit of both.
I know this song is about Weiss' relationship with her father, and you can also envision it relating to Blake's relationship with Adam, but I really like to imagine Emerald leaving Cinder's side and standing up to her, and this song being the theme for that

+Eric shumway It's most certainly _not_ about Blake. When your the leader of a revolution the last thing you want to do is tell your members they will amount to nothing or abandon their dreams. Why would a leader do that when they are fighting for equality and to have Faunus' treated better. Plus, they were supposedly lovers, and that is not something you tell your lover man.

This song was main reason i waited for volume 3 soundtrack. Of course i waited it for epic songs, but this one kinda stood out.

ya know just listening to this song makes me respect the show and month even more. I am also working on my own. manga/animated series and rwby is and monty are one of the biggest inspirations. I just get so excited thinking about it and how great its gonna be when I'm up there and have a fan base of my own, I just, I can't wait for the day I become one of the greats like monty oum, a legend even!!

This may have come out in Volume 3, but it's even more relevant in Volume 4.
Volume 3 featured Weiss talking with Winter about the importance of independence from their father, and a few baby steps.
Volume 4 has Weiss trapped in her mansion by her father and stripped of her title. From what I can tell, it's her turn by the end of her segment in V4C07:Punished.
Well they can very much input this song into volume 4 when Weiss escapes. She already broke the window in her room and asked Klein for a favor but let's see how it goes.

Weiss standing up to her father, Blake standing up to Adam, Penny standing up to General Ironwood, and, what I wished would've happened: Neo standing up to Roman. Not necessarily to be good, but just to kick ass on her own agenda.

This song is kinda sad, listening to it after the end of volume 3. like her father controlled every aspect of her life from her very youth. And she left Atlas to get away from him. By this point in the series, she's trying to keep him out of her life, and even Winter is encouraging her to do so. But now, after everything that happened, her father just swoops in and forces her to go back to the life she wanted to get away from so bad.

I know they played this song as Team RWBY proving them self. I do low key hope it's about Reese though she seems like the rebellious kid who struggling to prove her self. Not to mention I expect them to play a role in Volume 5 I mean there from Haven. Not to mention help and fought at the Fall of Beacon.

Theory time: could this song also apply to Jaune? So Jaune has 7 sisters, what if they're from different mothers? Each that Father Arc truly loved but lost because he couldn't protect them. This made Father Arc jaded because what's the saving people if your life's a mess because of it. Which leads to Jaune climbing a vast hill which is Jaune trying to train himself while his father chides him with by telling him it'll get nowhere and the such. Eventually he reaches he's patient peak and just insults Jaune, which is where some lyrics come from. But hey that's just a theory, a RWBY theory!
