  • My name is Michelle and I’m part of the Academic Team here at IELTS Advantage.
I was an IELTS examiner for several years but now my main job is coaching our VIP students, giving them personalised feedback and helping them get the IELTS scores of their dreams as quickly as possible :)
One key problem I’ve noticed over the years is that most students really struggle to finish the IELTS Reading test… As you know, you have just 60 minutes to answer 40 questions, so you must read quickly in order to finish the test on time!
To help you out, I made this video which shows you how to improve your reading speed and increase your chance of getting the score you need.
I’d like to help you improve your reading skills as much as possible, so I’ve also included a task for you to complete at the very end of the video - make sure to leave your response in the comments section to see how you did!

Interesting, I didn't expect IELTS reading to be that hard! every single time I do the reading test, I find myself out of time, and I never complete the third passage, I will definitely give what you suggested a try and see how it goes, Thanks

Even if one were C1 level or somewhere close to it, one would still face difficulties solving the IELTS reading module. The reason is: time puts pressure and the paraphrasings are so subtle that sometimes even an avid reader misses 'em.

I need to improve on my reading section. I have problems with skimming and scanning the paragraphs, it's not that I don't understand the paragraphs but it is difficult for me to find the answers especially with harder summary completion although I am great at writing section. So far focusing on these two sections.
P.S. Looks like news prompt would help with reading speed.
