I ordered one as soon as I could to lock in the price. It's less than I was planning to spend to build one, and 4K60 is fine (going to 120 is just going to take more computer than I want to put towards it). First mod I'll be looking into is that DMD screen. 8" is fine, but it looks like there's enough room there to go to 10" or maybe more.
Two ALP's currently and preordering the 4k. I like that it runs outta the box but you can bring otg and they have zen coming native. Its a great platform to work off, even the HD ALP still has legs, its a great time to be into Virtual Pinball, thanks for sharing your thoughts!
OTG is clutch and the improvements they made regarding OTG over the original ALP is amazing. I built my own cab but if I had the extra to spend I would 100% grab me an Addams family 4k. I know it’s not the art of the original Addams family but I think I like it better.
Thanks for this video. I have been into Vpin for over a decade and still do not feel I have the skills, time, space, money and tools to make my own. I know it would be glorious to do so but it is not possible. The ALP and now the ALP4k is perfect for folks like me. It gets an affordable system that is ready to go on arrival, BUT allows us to add to and mod later. I have a PC running FP, VPX and Zen 2,3, and FX on my OG ALP and I will transfer that over to the ALP 4k when it arrives. I always wanted to mod the ALP with larger backbox and 4k playfield but it was beyond my means to do so. Now I have the chance to step up to that. Thanks AtGames plus I can mod more in the future!
Lol, love the computer comment. My PC was over $1k and I upgraded from one of those "$300" ones, haha. It runs VPX night and day difference. So yeah, many variables, you can go cheap and get an "ok" experience or you can really invest into this hobby and get all of the bells and whistles. Skies the limit. And yeah, I preordered the 4k, wish me luck!
Right?! I can’t believe how many people were putting $300 for pc cost. Apparently those people were building stuff pre covid or something. Idk 🤷 Good luck with the 4k! I have a good feeling about these.
I pre-ordered The Addams Family version, although it's not my favorite pinball game you still can't go wrong with it IMO. Honestly, I think the cabinet looks great and I love how it looks and I also like the Zen logos on it. Your absolutely spot on, I tried to build my own cabinet but it became harder and more costly the more I tried. So going this route for me is perfect and I'm happy with the decision and can't wait to receive it. The other icing on the cake for me was when they announced that Zen was on board that was all I needed to hear.
I went from the ALP HD to the ALP 4k with SSF kit. Huge difference IMO. The playfield is so much better. The sound is a lot better also with the SSF kit. I play VPX and Future Pinball on mine.
I have a feeling it’s not going to run the new zen tables in 4K……I pre ordered though simply because to purchase a mini pin 32 inch screen your still at like 4 to 5k. Buy this and just add your pc.
I heard at games and zen brought a bunch of these to the Chicago gaming show this week. Gotta be pretty sure of yourself bringing that to a show with the real pinheads. Very interested to see how it plays.
Sticking with my blinged up ALP. Works great with a 1650 gpu and have 24" backglass. Updating would be about $1,900 total cost, since also would repurchase stock tables. Still around $1,700 if didn't repurchase.
Really enjoyed this video. My current setup is a fully PC modded A1U Attack From Mars. I know the tech stuff. I did a monitor backglass in this machine as well as swap out the playfield to a 32 inch. So why did I pre order this from AtGames? A few reasons. 1. Love the design. Addams Family if an iconic pin and I like how this looks. 2. That Zen partnership. Really interested to see where this goes as I like what Zen puts out. And 3. The simple ease of use of just hooking up the PC I’m running now on the A1U (which is COMPLETE overkill for its current setup) to this machine. I can’t wait to see all that VPX 4K goodness run on this machine. While I have the tech skills I don’t have the build my own cabinet skills nor the time for that. This 4K from AtGames is the perfect solution for someone like me.
I mean, I’m not the known figure in the community that tried to trade mark the term “virtual pinball,” but in general, if you and I (or all the other people that watch this video) are into the same hobby, I believe the proper English term would be to say “our” hobby. Let me know in your follow up video that you make on etiquette of the English language.
I'm suprised you didn't talk about the middle options . I had the original ALP and was happy with it until the mainboard died and wasn't going to pay $100 plus shipping for a 1 month warranty on that part. I've moved on to a dual monitor 27inch 1008p 144 mhz for my main playfield and it give me that same form factor feel and much better table performance than the sub-standard non-hdmi screens in the ALP. I'm getting a small sized fully built pin cab box with regular plunger, haptics, all the buttons pre-configured for mysetf for $250. Your thoughts on this prodcut?? th-cam.com/video/c6JYbKZhzrc/w-d-xo.html
Love that as the mid option! I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. But I did want to concentrate on the new product for this video. Maybe making a video of vpin options for all budgets would be a good video for the future 🤔
Hi 😊.I don't have the skill set to build one, so I'm excited to say I pre-order one . Thank you for the information and nice video 😊
Great to see you back, GG! I hope all is well!
I am subscribing and rung the bell! Great video.
🙏 thanks friend

Good insights. Subscribed!
I have a Chinese wide body that I've modded a lot. If I hadn't I would grab this and all the add-ons they had at 50% off.

Agree completely. This is designed to introduce people to virtual pinball.
GG's back. Back again. GG's back. Tell a friend. :)
When you say “our” hobby… does that mean you own the hobby?

No.
