None of the assets match, really makes for the bootleg feel
can this run on a laptop with windows 11
Is this vpx or future pinball? … oh wait lot it says it on the #s lol
Thank you so much for this video! It's very informative and is going to be fun to experiment with 10.8.7
How does the functionality work for the back screen? When you hit for the saucer minigame can you see the minigame? Does it work the same way it does in pinballFX?
When you say “our” hobby… does that mean you own the hobby?
I mean, I’m not the known figure in the community that tried to trade mark the term “virtual pinball,” but in general, if you and I (or all the other people that watch this video) are into the same hobby, I believe the proper English term would be to say “our” hobby. Let me know in your follow up video that you make on etiquette of the English language.
@@ggpinball1890 haha! I like it. I like it a lot. I enjoyed the video.
Do I still have to unzip files like the table and backglass files? I didn't see that step in this process...
3:45 No, I won't believe 4ms is "quite a big difference" in input lag compared to 0ms because it's not. 4ms input delay will be virtually undetectable by overwhelming majority of people because the threshold for input delay detection by the average person is around 50ms. Most people can't detect under 40ms of input delay without electronic tools. That's ten times longer than 4ms. The average person will detect absolutely no difference between 0ms and 4ms. While an input lag under 40ms is desirable, if your input lag is at 4ms you're already at the pinnacle of instantaneous response time and buttery performance. Input lag does matter, but the scale in the example is wrong. People going from 40, 50, 70ms input lag down to sub-30ms response times will notice a marked improvement in their flipper response. But someone who had a 4ms input lag that drops down to 0ms is not going to notice any significant difference. Not even for a professional gamer.
Why does no one talk about the sequel table they made for this? I found out about this table because the sequel table is in my local roller rink, it’s the only reason I understand pinball and it’s a sick table
Awesome video, explained really well I love this pinball, equal to Godzilla
This looks like a bootleg arcade game for some crappy reason
Is this real?
If you want free games you need to select Tournament mode. Standard Adjustments option 26 to yes
This is exactly how I'm set up. Thanks so much and cheers from Cali!
great video man . big help thanks
Christian Whitehead’s gonna start the mania trend now 💀
I went from the ALP HD to the ALP 4k with SSF kit. Huge difference IMO. The playfield is so much better. The sound is a lot better also with the SSF kit. I play VPX and Future Pinball on mine.
Awesome video! I'm actually interested in deleting a few games that's inappropriate for the little ones. Can you do a video showing how to do this task?
hi GG, Is it possible to have 2 baller installers on separate drives on the same pc. I share a computer with my son and he likes to change the settings on tables which i don’t like. My PC has 2 internal SSD drives that are 2 TB each. I would like to set up my own pinball set up on my D: drive and have another Pinball set up exclusively for him on the C: drive. Both independent of one another. would this work, or would there be conflicts. I watched another tutorial on setting up Ballerinstaller and the fellow who made the video said that baller installer had to be installed on the main C: drive. Do you know if this is true? By the way great video, i really appreciate the work you put in , very helpful for us newbs. Thanks
Loved this video! Wishing there were more. Hope you can get back to making videos!
So can all of the windowed mode adjustments be done on all VPX tables, if you are using version 10.8? Or does the table itself also have to be a specifically 10.8 made version?
Yes, all POV adjustments can be made for any vpx table. If a table says “made for 10.8” it’s most likely because it’s using specific features introduced in that version. But previous tables will work fine. I have around 250 that I’m running in 10.8 now with no issues.
@@ggpinball1890 That is so good to finally have this cleared up, because I was asking this question in other places and not getting a response. And great news that all tables are able to do these new POV adjustments, that is a huge advancement for the VPX engine, as is the Frame Pacing feature too. It's excellent to see these constant improvements and also big leaps like these ones happening to VPX. And channels like yours really help educate and inform the Virtual Pinball community. Keep up the good work, you are a champion ! 👍🏆
Great video, really explained a lot of things I was not aware of in the new version, thankyou 👍
I’d like to give an honourable mention to Space Shuttle, the table that was supposed to save the game from slumping interest in pinball at the time due to the introduction of video games. It’s still one of my favourites. 🚀
Thanks for the video, great help. Have one problem. The only 10.8 table I have is Spongebob Bikini bottom table, Displays at 90 degrees. Goes front left to right on display. How do change to the long direction of monitor. Big newbie here, help is really appreciated
Nothing wrong with being new. So if you open vpx and load sponge bob, try lunching with the f6 table edit mode. Or if it launches right into it, you should be able to hit esc once nd go to edit pov. When you get into there you should be able to hit your plunger button twice and it should correct the view. If using the latest as of this comment, make sure you save twice if it’s a new table. The newest version of 10.8 creates an ini file that saves the individual table pov settings the first time it’s launched.
Very happy with 10.8 in VR (VPX GL64). See examples in my channel.
With the exception of potential legal action against them for theft of services and products, I'm all done with AtGames. I have spent well over a year (closer to two) asking repeatedly for a problem to get resolved and have NEVER received one helpful reply. I go weeks at times, without being able to access my account and am only able to play the stock tables - leaving about 60 tables that I paid for that are consistently inaccessible. I'll never buy another one of their products again. Customer service is less than zero stars.
No.
I pre-ordered The Addams Family version, although it's not my favorite pinball game you still can't go wrong with it IMO. Honestly, I think the cabinet looks great and I love how it looks and I also like the Zen logos on it. Your absolutely spot on, I tried to build my own cabinet but it became harder and more costly the more I tried. So going this route for me is perfect and I'm happy with the decision and can't wait to receive it. The other icing on the cake for me was when they announced that Zen was on board that was all I needed to hear.
I just saw your video on installing 10.8. Could please give the complete file number so i can look for it. Thanks
Hi 😊.I don't have the skill set to build one, so I'm excited to say I pre-order one . Thank you for the information and nice video 😊
You think a pinball table has 0 millisecond lag??? That is a dumb idea to have.
Sick story bruh. You’re soooooooooooooo cooool. Douche.
I am on the latest version and I do get that red box with F11 on a very beefy system with frame pacing.... Any suggestions?
So I’ve been testing with my system a lot and I don’t have the beefiest of systems. I think you are going to get that red box when you red line regardless. I would try playing with the settings one by one. I did notice that like 3 of the 4 selections for AA seem to add around 3-4 Ms of flipper lag, which again, is very acceptable as compared to the 16 to 20 we were getting before frame pacing.
Are you referring to 10.8.0 Beta 5, and not 10.8.5? I'm going to update, but waiting on beta 6 (or a release candidate), as beta 5 is two months old and I'm guessing it's going to contain quite a lot of fixes since all the previous releases were 1 month apart.. Thanks for the preview!
Sorry, to clarify it’s the 10.8 nightly release. So it’s not that beta 5 you see on the main beta page. If you sign into GitHub you have the option to download the nightly builds. In the video I mention how to do this and even what nightly build I’m using at that point. Should be more like an hourly build because this team is so quick they put multiple version out a day it would seem.
@@ggpinball1890Thanks man. I'll be checking it out for sure! Appreciate it!
Good information. I'm just starting out with the hobby, so I am gobbling up all the information I can get my hands on.
Welcome to the hobby! Let us know if you have questions!
Great video! The reason FPS affected flipper response (lag is delay in response), is because the input processing was part of the render cycle, which runs at the frame rate. Now input processing runs independent of render cycle, so it can be processed at a higher rate regardless of frame rate.
Excellent information clearly presented! Thanks GG!
i ve got a 10.08 version and my b2s dont showed up , Why ? on all tables. When i run the 10.72 version is all good but as we know newest tables dont work on older vpx . Any ideas ?
You’ll need the newest B2s version too
@@ruudwester2816 THANKS . i NEED to CLICK and REGISTER B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp or only copy and paste DLL files ?
i finally got , it was thew B2s ScreenResidentifier.exe but i now got my backglass stomp on the playfield on 1 screen
Another great video pal. Well done
I've been into emulation since the old nesticle days, but to this day I've never delved into virtual pinball. If I was nostalgic for the old street fighter 2 pinball machine, how hard would it be to set up? Is that one even available?
Honestly not hard to setup at all and yes! SF2 is one of my favorite tables to play with my 9 year old. To make things simple, google baller installer which will install all the software in one package and guide you how to set it up. Then it’s just download the table file and rom.
@@ggpinball1890 Awesome! This makes it so much easier than I expected! Now we'll see if I ever splurge and make my own full size table like some people here.
Good video! Reset the pov starts with 1:1 view with cut top and apron, press plunger again and it's a squashed full size table with top and apron.
🤯
i was going to wait to try out 10.8 but your video has convinced me to take the plunge! good job and hopefully you keep us updated with any more insights as this is cutting edge stuff
great video! is there anyway I can join your weekend warrior vpx group without SpaceBook??
Make sure you dont use the debug version.
Thanks for the video, very helpful! Have you heard anything on the VPX successor, I forget the name? There was a lot of success on the Unity version, but seems to have gone silent on their progress.
I remember seeing something like a year ago on it. Someone redid the terminator 2 table in it. Haven’t heard anything since. But I gotta say since the open gl version is for everyone now, not sure if we need the unity version anymore.
Nice video! Frame Pacing is great. I play all my tables these days with 10.8 latest beta and Frame Pacing.
If anyone other than Dan is reading this, make sure to check his channel regarding settings for vpx. The man knows his stuff!
First!!! Good to see you back it in it!
Great Tutorial.
I have a feeling it’s not going to run the new zen tables in 4K……I pre ordered though simply because to purchase a mini pin 32 inch screen your still at like 4 to 5k. Buy this and just add your pc.
I heard at games and zen brought a bunch of these to the Chicago gaming show this week. Gotta be pretty sure of yourself bringing that to a show with the real pinheads. Very interested to see how it plays.
Agree completely. This is designed to introduce people to virtual pinball.
I'm suprised you didn't talk about the middle options . I had the original ALP and was happy with it until the mainboard died and wasn't going to pay $100 plus shipping for a 1 month warranty on that part. I've moved on to a dual monitor 27inch 1008p 144 mhz for my main playfield and it give me that same form factor feel and much better table performance than the sub-standard non-hdmi screens in the ALP. I'm getting a small sized fully built pin cab box with regular plunger, haptics, all the buttons pre-configured for mysetf for $250. Your thoughts on this prodcut?? th-cam.com/video/c6JYbKZhzrc/w-d-xo.html
Love that as the mid option! I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. But I did want to concentrate on the new product for this video. Maybe making a video of vpin options for all budgets would be a good video for the future 🤔
