Hello Harstem, i m the guy from the video 😂 Here s my thought process throughout the video: - i thought you re gonna do some nasty cheese similar to 13/12, mutas were really unexpected -i was really confident that i m gonna kill the nat and be far ahead even if you have mutas, the fact that it stayed on 1 hp triggered my fight or flight senses -therefore i moved out way to soon with just a few hydras and i lost a bunch of important scaling units -i think i ve sent a changeling to the watch tower so i saw the gold -moved out again with too little units -i think that infestors were a scam, your muta movement was great and the gas cost could ve gone into lurker viper -i totally forgot about detection, borrow banes were really unexpected, i didn t even realise that i killed a few banes and could ve fungal the zone, my face just went "shiiii, what a genius man" Great game captain!
I think infestors are never an answer against mutalisks. They are too slow I dodge or kill them even in diamond level and they cost a lot of gas. I think the best way to play against this might be turtle zerg with broodlords, unironicaly. Though no one actually does this. Or you should kill the opponent with lurkers before vipers or get vipers yourself.
@@abyrvalg_ Turtling on 3 bases would've been the best choice i think up until vipers, then i can start expanding, doing runbies and play somewhat of a lategame. broodlords are really bad in zvz, spores do double damage ( 30 vs biological ) and they cost a lot and are easily abductable. I've beaten plenty of zergs going bl.
@@l19h79 Guys I played against just used broodlords behind the field of spores. Runbuys with turtling might work, but the obvious answer to that is faster expanding and map control. Mutas are great when they are in the clump, but once they have to deal with two things at once...
Only Harstem can keep me at the edge of my seat the entire game in a match where he has the zerg opponent contained on 2 bases while he himself has 4 and 40 mutas. Nice game and well played. Also I think that the low HP hatchery acted like an idiot magnet, he committed way too hard to go and kill it, it would have been insane if the gold base was also left at 1 hp.
I wish I could have seen his face for 10 seconds starting at 18:22 . I'm sure it went from a confident smile to a bewildered wtf just happened face lol
No, the Bongcloud opening is the bongcloud of SC2! Check out uThermal's extensive research on the issue. He lifts his starting command center to the natural :D
What I've noticed from Harstem's Zerg is he really hones in on making a certain strategy work, and it either makes him look like a genius or causes him to throw games he's WAY ahead in. And I'm all for it as a viewer.
I hate roach wars, so if I survive to the late game it looks like what Harstem was doing there. I try to rush hive ASAP though to get ultras, vipers and also get some detection. Though never tried mutas at 4 minutes, this was insane.
crazy game i thought there was no way you'd win lol i'm kinda shocked by how bad ultras were in that spot, i didn't think they'd melt that fast and their speed would let them kill enough hydras.
Hi i played sc since start but only for fun some times and is so bad ;=), so want to be better and use hotkeys, bindings, units blink keys etc and want to get tipp on that! tnx for good videos allways fun to watch ;=) //Swedish viking ps i play protoss
I suggest you try grid hotkeys if you are not used to the regular hotkeys yet. Also make sure to set up rapid fire (if you dont know about it there are videos on youtube explaining how). Put all nexus on same hotkey, and different types of buildings can be on separate hotkey or on the same hotkey and you can shift between building types with tab
imagine having several banelings borrowed and getting those hydras into the bait? there will be no chance opponent will not buy it. UPD: ok, i was too impressed to leave a comment before the end of the video
You cant fight anything with a ball of muta, cant fight anything with a ball of blings but if you combine them it can fight lots of armies straight up. The muta are faster so they soak up a lot of damage, they live just long enough for the blings to land. Their crappy dps is perfect for cleaning up whats left.
even if you put up some static D/queens and ran in the mutas it wouldn't work vs his queens and spores... even if you went straight to his base with those, he had 3 queens out side of his base and expo at his 3rd killing an overlord before those first mutas popped out...
Not showing 4 lings because he can conclude that it's only 4 lings seems like flawed logic. If that was really the case, if you are all-inning, you should always first send 4 lings to give your opponent a false sense of security
They are not a counter compared to what infestors and viper can do, corruptors is something you build if you were going for mutas yourself so may as well use the spire. Also unlike hydras they dont morph into lurkers which is the ultimate unit in zvz
Corruptors are a very expensive unit and not very flexible ones, they could be outnumbered by the mutas. And if he wins against mutas, corruptors only can attack air units and structures, if you want to make use of them against ground units, you need to evolve them into broodlords. Changing to broodlords are practically a doom, they are even more expensive and basically a one way unit, having big troubles for a retreat. Meanwhile, Hydras are cheaper than mutalisk, having a really dps and they are more flexibles, attacking ground and air units. And they can evolve to lurkers, a siege unit who can annihilate structures and having splash damage. They are the natural response against mutas.
i made infestors hoping to get a big fungal or two and when i wanted to get hive i had no gas then my infestation pit was killed. prolly should've made just 1-2 infestors then get hive. Also, i agree with the other guys on why i didn t go corruptors, hydras are way more flexible and cheaper than corruptors.
5.1k mmr and he doesnt scout the main with his 12 lings... Also rallys 3-4 roaches at a time across the map... Meanwhile I'm playing a silver level Smurf with 50k games played

I clicked on this video faster, than how fast those mutas come out.

Harstem doing goofy strategies is honestly best content on youtube rn
If at least 50% of your mutas arent in the red you're being too passive and should get your T checked.
You now Harstam is from the Netherlands when he says “you now the feeling after the first bite of edibles”
blazingly fast.
Nice…
"I slow trickled out a few mutas, didn't hide them, gave him plenty of warning. Oh crap, he has hydras, who could've forseen that?" 🤣
Harstem you're great, but nothing was more annoying than you having 24 mutalisks, then never looking for the hidden base you thought he had.
Bro desperately needed a few more spore crawlers. Not even to kill the mutas, but to corrall them towards the units
Mutas need a buff
Puff
“ high like before you take the second part of the edible”
17:54 this whole sequence xD
Thanks Harstem been awhile since I checked in
18:00 Yeah I'm pretty sure no one has seen banelings explode from an attack in their lives before xD
