If anyone is wondering who the catcher is, it's me. Not only was I catching him, I was also giving him tips on how to throw a better curve ball since his lacks movement.
They should have shown the pepper game at the end of Yu's workout. I saw him at Comerica Park in Detroit, and after the warmup was over, the catcher flipped it over his back to Yu, who flipped it behind his back to a coach, and they flipped all around to the coaches and even the kid that tends the bullpen. Then Yu and the catcher marched off to battle. Way too cool.
lol yeah i have. as a matter of fact, im excited to see him play my dodgers in a few. harvey is great. actually, i may have jumped the gun to say no other pitcher is doing AS GREAT as kershaw. although their numbers are nearly identical, the ones that matter most is still on kershaws end. regardless, im excited to see him play tonight.
I like Verlander, he is a great pitcher, and does throw harder, but I think Yu's stuff is a bit more filthy. Here are the stats for this season for both pitchers. Verlander ERA 3.70 Record 7-4 Strikeouts 87 WHIP 1.36 BAA .263 Darvish ERA 2.77 Record 7-2 Strikeouts 111 WHIP 0.93 BAA .181 Darvish has better numbers across the board as you can see, but Verlander is no doubt one of MLB's elite pitchers. He did no fair well against the Rangers last time though ;)
I wish I would have played baseball when I grew up. But my parents didn't care about sports. And all we played was football. Which I am thankful for however,. In 9th grade. I could throw a football 65 yards. And had outstanding catching a ability. I don't know about hitting a ball with a baseball bat. But if I would have caught a baseball in the Outfield. I would have been able to throw it back to home plate from anywhere
Does anyone else feels like he tops the batter off when he goes to his breaking pitches? Like you can see him shuffling around getting trying to get the grip. I don't know maybe just me, but this guy have nasty stuff.
What is up with all these TH-cam pitching coaches leaving instructions on how he should pitch and what he's doing wrong. This or that. First off, he's never going to read your comment. Second, he's in the Major Leagues son! We don't need to read some comments on how he should pitch from some idiot out in podunk country who has never played baseball before.
Just listening to the Rangers lineup brought me back to when they won regular season games. The good days
