Excellent! Welcome to the SUP community. You will get more stability standing more forward in the middle of the board, with your feet on both sides of the center carrying strap. Have fun, be safe!
We just got our own paddle boards as well and it's crazy what travelling down a well known river will bring to light. We're excited to get it out into some alpine lakes in the Canadian Rockies before fall hits us. Happy paddling :)
You’re absolutely right about the wildlife but one small warning, if you see swans with young or that are nesting, look out because they get quite a bit more wild…. Great vid
I'm sure you already know by now but the bigger the person the bigger the board needed. The Josh needs bigger board the Sarah looks pretty good on it and not because it's water based either lol
Loads of youtube videos on techniques that may be useful. Just like riding a bike some forward momentum before standing up. Please consider wearing buoyancy aids and on rivers where there are obstacles such as overhanging trees a quick release waist belt. Anyway looking forward to your cycling adventures.
The momentum before standing up makes a big difference. Appreciate the advice and have found some handy TH-cam videos too. We also can't wait to be on the bikes, but very happy exploring the river for the next few weeks :)
I could never carry mine they weigh a ton. Have to take the car. I’ve sprained my thumb due to poor down to knee technique I splayed it over the paddle.
Wait till you find out about the tax to ride the paddleboard on the canals 🤣 (It wouldn't be the UK without them trying to tax you for something) That or you risk getting a big fine

Thanks - really appreciate the tips. Looking forward to our next day on the river!
You did amazing considering you was standing a mile of the correct position 😊
Always fun to try something new, glad you both love it!
Cheers! Now psyching ourselves up for the first wet paddle!
I bought my very first paddleboard this summer and loving it! My wife and our son enjoyed it at the beach 😊
Happy paddling Michael!
I finally bought my first paddle board after wanting it for a few years now, i'm so excited to start this summer.
Enjoy ☀️its so much fun!

It really is. Gives you so much more appreciation for your nearby surroundings we've found. Alpine lakes sounds AMAZING!!!
Thanks for sharing.
My partner and I have just started out. What a wonderful, relaxing thing SUP is :)
Just ordered my first sup, I’m so excited to get it and start my adventure
Congratulation, hope you enjoy a summer of paddling :)

Thanks! Ha, yes, I spent my childhood push boat tours on the river Camb and have been on the receiving end of mumma swans before.
Such an enjoyable, peaceful video! ✌️ keep enjoying life!
Always happy when we're in the water 😊
Lovely video!!
Thanks for this good video, well done. Greetings from Germany!
Hello all the way to Germany! Thanks for the watch :)
Me my dad and the jack Russell us to go down the canals in Northampton bk in the 79 with a pack of bourbon biscuits lol😊
Gotta love Bourbons!!!
I never thought I could be seduced by paddling amongst the reeds and ducks but here we are :-)
Perfect way to spend the day :D
Im not sure if you have already but if you havent ensure you purchase the british canoeing liscence its quite inexpensive
Thanks for the recommendation! What would be the perks of membership?
@joshandsarahride technically you need one to go paddleboarding on any waterways plus there are certain benefits like discounts at some shops
@@joshuapatrick5093 good thing you told us, I didn't actually realize!
that's laughable, I can't believe that's a real thing.
💛
Have good day

Ahh, do you think I (J) would be better on a bigger board. Sarah tends to look better on things 😅 thanks for sharing advice!
Is it Grantchester? 🤩
Yes it is. good spot! 🙂

And of course the river licence

A car would definitely be easier 😁😅
tip is your feet need to be where the handle thing

that's insane, how do people live there.
Just a shame it's fields and not forests, in the whole country
There are somw forests in the uo, but definitely not as big or beautiful as they could be sadly 🌲
