Ellis, I have always admired your posted videos, air checks etc. as a fellow radiophile (I spent many years at a station here in CT). But this is really one of the best as almost no one has these types of audio files. Great job!
At 1:46, was that the same Jack Carney who was on WABC in the early '60s? Also never knew the Cardinals were on KWK. The Yankees are now on WFAN (660). Their last home was WCBS (880), before that WABC (770). WERE was 1300 when they did Indians games; it's shown as 1490 at 7:54. Thanks so much for this! Ellis Feaster, how do you DO it?!
@@andyr1313 OK, thanks. Before he was at WABC, he was at WIL (1430 in St. Louis). There was once a series of "Cruisin'" albums from various stations around the country. They were airchecks of various stations. The aforementioned WIL, KHJ, WKBW, to name but a few. Mr. Carney was on "Cruisin' 1958" from WIL. He died in 1984 at age 52.
@@neilleibowitz2321 Yes, I read that some years ago. Still, they gave one a feel for what was going on at that station at that time. At my old house I have a "Cruisin' 1965" of Robert W. Morgan on KHJ in 1965.
For other teams, there are three different versions for the New York Mets between the 1963 and 1966 seasons. Only two are the same but with only a minority of changes between both 1963 and 1964, but at the start of the 1965 season is when its jingle changed to a more goofyish theme and lasted from both 1965 and 1966 seasons. When the 1967 season rolled along, its theme was changed to an early-1960s sounding instrumental theme. The St. Louis Cardinals jingle shown here did not last pretty long though. As of 1962, Cardinals broadcasts never had a jingle but instead had a more New York-ish jazzy soundtrack when the announcer calls that the Cardinals are on the air. In 1963, its jingle changed to a marching instrumental theme. The Houston Astros in the late-1960s never had a jingle as well, instead in Astros broadcasts it had a New Orleans-sounding jazz band playing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". Also in the late-1960s, the San Francisco Giants did had a break on vocals, and the New York Yankees while under WMCA as its flagship station had a 1960s marching theme (probably by the same people who did the Mets jingles as well, judging by its instruments and vocals they used) which was shorten during the mid-1970s. At the same time, both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs radio broadcasts used the famous "It's A Beautiful Day For A Ballgame" theme from the early-1960s as its jingle (in which everyone knows the theme from the 1964-67 World Series highlights films). The Cubs used the theme from the 1960s until 1984 when it was replaced with the original "Go Cubs Go" as its intro. During the mid-1970s, the Cincinnati Reds radio broadcasts had a pop-rock tune that had the players names in their lyrics. In 1984, the Pittsburgh Pirates began using two cuts from JAM Creative Productions’ First Of All package as its theme.
Was expecting to hear a jingle from the Tigers and WJR, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear one from their days on WWJ, which preceded WJR. WWJ first broadcast the Tigers in 1927 with Ty Tyson doing play-by-play. WJR was the flagship of the Tigers from 1964 to 2000, mostly with Ernie Harwell calling the games. Since then they've been on WXYT-FM.
As far as I remember, the Cardinals' flagship was KMOX, except from 2006-2010, when they were on KTRS, and returning to KMOX the following year. They were never on KWK, which was a Top 40 station in the 1950s and 1960s.
Never said it was every jingle of every team. It’s what I have in my collection. I’m sorry if my hours of gathering all I had in my collection has disappointed you, but I can’t produce what I don’t have. If you have them, get them to me & I will edit them in.

Thanks! I have to thank my friend Scott Brown for passing most of these to me to share.
@@EllisFeaster You're welcome, Ellis!

I’ve been able to keep posting thanks to fans of the channel who keep sending me audio. Glad you enjoy it.
That is Jack Carney from the early 60s. He was on KSFO from roughly 1962 to 1972...

5:21-6:17 YYYYYYYYYES!...Even though that 1988 pocket schedule reminds me of my Orioles' second-worst season ever.

5:50 - Sounds of my childhood!
I'm not even a fan of Pittsburgh sports (let alone baseball), but that Pirates jingle was exceptionally good
I thought so too. After hearing it again, it’s now stuck in my head!

So WIL and KWK were head-to-head.
I know somewhere around the web, there’s a jingle for KFI and the dodgers. (Let’s go big blue!)
There's one I want to demand, True Dodger Blue, AM 790 ⚾...1991 throwback! I was near the age of 13!
If I had it, I would post it.
Also I'd like to hear Yankees and Mets when they were on WHN.
If you have it, get it to me & I'll include it!
Anything from the Nationals who's TV Rights are held by the Orioles owner because the team invaded their territory.
I’ve posted everything in my collection.
I’m sorry but this list is incomplete. No cubs, white Sox etc complete
