I had to come back and comment again to say THANK YOU for a couple of things on tutorials. For always having a classic simple white background that makes it easier to see, no crazy coloured painted finger nails, no background music, fantastic camera focus and the perfect speed for anyone. 👌💜
When I was a young student nurse I had a mentor (retired Matron) who gave me great advice and helped me develop my practice skills, she had these beautiful crochet vests that I loved and I always regretted not asking her how to make them, this looks almost exactly like hers, so thank you so much for sharing...time to get busy and make my own
Crystal all week I have been watching you I have been out and bought 3 lots of yarn to make this waist coat started it so easy to watch and learning am enjoying making this am 77 but love crocheting I will be making a lot of yritems you have done thankyou so muchx
crysatl, thank you for your excellent teaching. While it it s small thing, i love it when you skip stitches you say, skip, skip, rather than just skip two stitches.
LOVE that you explain the construction right at the beginning! The construction of clothing pieces is always so hard for me to understand but this made perfect sense!
TY for this great tutorial. You're one of the best crocheters that creates great, easy, simple & beautiful tops like these that are PERFECT for TX weather almost year round. Please DON"T STOP!!!
I love how it's explanined from the very beginning how to put the piece together. That part is always confusing (not on the video, this one is explained very well) and it's good to see so you can understand if you're up for the chalenge instead of watching the whole thing just to be lost at the end
Yay! Another lovely vertical construction! Thank you, Crystal :) I LOVE the verticals that you've dedigned. They look so classy-- and with certain yarns they become elegant. ♡
I love this. I won some beautiful yarns from you . this vest must be what I have been holding on to the yarn for. I 💕 it will make the vest tomorrow.thank you so much
Hi Crystal. I have been a subscriber for many years and made so many of your pieces. You are so easy to follow as you take time to explain. Unfortunately, the last few years due to Lupus, which has attacked my heart and thyroid, the doctors have me on meds that cause weight gain. I was always small frame and wore small, but now due to my weight around my tummy especially I have to wear tops that disguise it.😮 I am going to wear a black top and add this over it. I am so happy to see it again. Thank you for being so good to help us older ladies!😊
Just a note to let you know that giving me two sizes was enough for me to be able to customize it to my measurements. Thank you for putting in the extra effort for us odd sizes! Nuboo is both streatchy and drapey. The other yarn was striking! I adore the Picaso yarn. You always manage to make stitches that seem complicated so easy to do.
Beautiful pattern. You used a thin 4 & made a multiple of 4 + 2 so you did a chain of 182, a 6 or 7 shells arm whole on both sides, fold & stitch down the opposite of back and sides. Turn right side out. Love it 🥰 Thank you.
This beautiful stitch makes a very pretty top! Appreciate your showing us how to construct the top!! Going to make a couple for my nieces and my sisters. Thanks so much, Crystal, for the as always great tutorial! Top really looked nice on you! Stay safe! Love & Hugs! 💕🤗💕
I did it!!! 🎉 I didn’t have the confidence to give it a go but your encouragement won me over. I’m so proud of my finished project thanks to you Crystal ❤
See, it's tutorials like this that I wish I could give double thumbs-up. For those of us that have been crocheting for awhile, we can take an uncomplicated pattern like this and modify it in myriad ways. You can add length, add width (and buttons or not), sleeves of various length, a collar if desired. Heck, you don't even have to use this stitch... you could use any 2 straight panels and join them together as demonstrated in this tutorial.
This is amazing. I was just looking for a pattern for a vest, or shrug. I have some very lightweight yarn, that I can't wait to try, and here you go. You come up, with exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you. Great timing. 💙💙💙💙
Another lovely top, thank you Crystal. I have made 3 of your tops so far (and multiple ponchos and hats and a baby dress too) and plan to make more. Please keep making wearables because those of us who love them, and watch them, make them😀
Crystal this top is BEAUTIFUL. I will have to get some bamboo yarn to make myself one. I like when you model the items because that way I see how it's supposed to look. Thank you so much for all you do
So pretty on you Crystal!! It’s Bo Ho but not hippee looking. Great for Mothers Day or to wear to graduation. The yarn your using is gorgeous! It looks like Christmas Ribbon Candy!, Thank you, Crystal. I needed that. I had a bad day, and some repetitive, but fun, crochet was just what I needed!,
I love this stitch! I saw an earlier tutorial where you used this stitch, and now I' using it to make a baby blanket for my grand baby due in November. Thanks Crystal! Have a great day!
I love this vest and all the different options you have given us. I do like to wear this style. Crystal- you are also the prettiest and most perfect model for your designs!! Except when you have crochet something for your daughter Rose! Then she is the prettiest and most perfect model! After all, she is your mini me!! Lol! Thank you for this great design and tutorial!!👏🤗🌹
That's exactly what I want for spring (honestly, I won't finish it 'til fall, but still). I'm so glad you modelled it, so I can envision it for myself. I'm 54 and menopausal, so sleeveless is best for me, but I'm about your size. Your explanations are very helpful, too. Thanks heaps 😊
I'm finally starting on this. I've had it saved in my B.O.D file for some time now and because of your teachings Crystal I finally feel confident enough to make this. I have made way to many blankets 😅 and stuff so now it's time 😜...lol...what am I saying, you can never have to many blankets...lol...I wish there was a way for me to send you a picture of it when I'm done. Thanks for everything, your the best. ❤️
I haven’t ventured into making clothing yet. I’m just so intimidated by the right kind of yarn to use and how much to buy of it. I’ll get there one day. Great job with this top!
Attractive texture to this stitch, great for a solid color yarn. (It looks like milk chocolate!) I like that the finishing edge down the front has a scalloped appearance.
Not sure why you were worried about modeling it. You did an awesome job. And it looks wonderful on you! I can't wait to try this pattern! Thanks Crystal!
I loved this beautiful amazingly croqueted top/vest, it's very easy as you said in this tutorial, and definitely 💯 I'll be croqueting this one for myself very soon 😊😁. Your tutorials are very useful, helpful and extremely easy. AWESOME WORK CRYSTAL 🔮. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY 👪.
So pretty, I love your tutorial. Always a great source of project ideas. Thank you very much for taking this time to inspire us and to teach us how to achieve it.
This is a beautiful design and top. The bottom edge is a nice finish for it. I think this would look nice with sleeves. Maybe a cap sleeve. Thanks so much 🤗 😇
OMGosh I don't know how I missed this one!! I absolutely love this and even have some yarn that a dear friend sent me recently in mind for this!! I'm so excited to do this! Thank you, Crystal! 💜
Yayyyyyyy. !!!!! I love you for putting the different sizes down and yarn usage. Thank you so much for your help and for your tutorials ❤ 🙏🏻 💕. Stay safe and enjoy the day.
So Crystal I must tell you that I'm going to make at least three of these in different colors because I'm obsessed with this pattern that you came up with totally totally obsessed! It's just so gorgeous and so easy to follow thank you for being such a great teacher ♥️

Thank You so much Crystal showing how to put the shell together.
I’m going to make a few small ones for some little girl cousins.
I have no clue why you think you don’t look good in crocheted clothing but everything I have seen you model looks amazing on you! Love you!
I love this. I won some beautiful yarns from you . this vest must be what I have been holding on to the yarn for. I 💕 it will make the vest tomorrow.thank you so much
