- Ukraine's prime minister has said there will be a "Third World War" if Ukraine loses its conflict with Russia.
Denys Shmyhal urged the US Congress to pass a long-stalled foreign aid bill, which has $61bn (£49bn) earmarked for Kyiv.
The House of Representatives is set to vote on the package this Saturday.
Mr Shmyhal expressed "careful optimism" that US lawmakers would pass the hotly contested measure.

I just wonder how far they are, because for that aid they have been received in the past 2 years, it shouldn’t be hard to understand that, for that amount of money Ukraine has received they could open a second Dubai or they could use this money on advancing their own bunkers on their own soil, because who knows ? They might need them soon with all that terroristic aid they have been delivered and no territory gained yet, imagine how many hospitals 🏥 and advancement that money could buy, rather than helping Ukraine? As long as Ukraine wants to continue to gamble it all, the only thing we have the power to do is to delay their losses. That's it.
Ukraine doesn't seek peace, or end to the war. They want victory. 100% victory. Nothing less is acceptable to them. The more this goes on, the less we can help them in the end. Oh well, we don't have the power to make Ukraine do anything, so it isn't really our responsibility.
They were happy to be puppets for us, we could certainly help them negotiate and provide leverage so they don't lose everything. That's their best option, but if they were going to take that option they would have done it far sooner and saved infinitely more.

Ukraine will loose with or without aid. Only difference is that US taxpayer will loose their money too.
People said the same thing about Chechnya - but Russia didn't win in Chechnya so much as convince a local figure to become their puppet authority there.
Ukraine is VASTLY larger and more populous than Chechnya.
So ye - Russia is by no means guaranteed a victory, especially when you take note of how much their military hardware stocks have been depleted in just 2 years of war, and how low quality it all was from day 1.
The Ukrainians are also more inventive in warfare vs their Russian counterparts, as well as having the defenders spirit to drive them, vs the conscripted Russians marching forward with the guns of their commanders trained on them if they show dissent.
If Russia was guaranteed to win it wouldn't even be making a show of trying for peace talks.

Once Russia owns Ukraine then effectively the border of ukraine is now the border of Russia, and then he does effectively have NATO on the Russian border - so he's in the same situation he was before invading Ukraine.
