      But we have to get to Confession asap if it's a serious sin. An Act of Contrition is just a beginning. We also need to watch out for a pileup of Veneal sins. They'll blind the intellect. That's been my experience. Our Parish Priest tends to go too easy on the penance, even if it's serious.
      Thank you, Father. But I have a feeling you're preaching to the choir. Hope not.

    Hi Fr. Doyle. I just stumbled upon your videos in the last few days - nice content. Two to three years ago I started going to the old Mass (I'm only 31 so I wasn't reared with it) and I can't explain how my faith has grown in that time. I don't even know what made me go. I soon realised how poorly catechised I was. I'm so sad that the vast majority of people now seem to think everyone is going to Heaven, except maybe Hitler - that hell is essentially empty. The children at Fatima saw people falling into hell like leaves... It's a real place and we all risk ending up there. Lines for communion now are very long and the lines for confession are almost non-existent. I think Pope Benedict could be very right when he says that the Catholic Church in the future will be much more faithful than it is now but it will be much much much smaller.

    • @GodsCottage
      @GodsCottage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes, the full Gospel message is not being preached. We can only cry out to heaven that it may be preached.

      @@GodsCottage I would love if my grandparents had lived for longer - I could ask them questions about the changes that happened to the Mass, and by extension, the faith... I'd have them tortured 🤭 God rest their souls. I'd love to know how such drastic changes were managed so there was no backlash from the laity. Then again I suppose we're in different times now where people are very vocal, back in the 60s maybe people didn't feel as free to question things.

      @@GodsCottage Your absolutely right Father. Very few people including the Hierarchy of the Church are focused on the Written Word of God. Christ in the Gospels reveals the Salvation Plan and Final Covenant that He and His Father developed and agreed upon before the foundation of the World. Yet, very few Catholics understand what God's plan entails, who the players are, and what are their roles and responsibilities, and what's the cost of admission.
      Priests here in the US insist that Catholics hear the Word of God by coming to Mass and hearing the Gospel read each Sunday. They don't say it; however it is implied, that's all you need of God's Word.
      I can only relate the condition of the Faithful here is the US, but most Catholics here don't own or read the Bible. There is no serious Bible studying going on in the US by Catholics. The Church here has pushed the Catechism in front of the Bible. The Catechism is not The Word of God and is not inspired by the Holy Spirit. Today the Church talks by citing the CCC number of the Catechism information as if it was the written word of God. It's not. It's what a group of priests think of an issue in front of them at that time. And even more upsetting is that the Catechism is no longer used as a teaching aid for children or converts it has evolved into a social justice book.

      @@GodsCottage I was saved by Jesus two years ago after Christian woman prayed salvation prayer over me. Following supernatural experience reading the Bible my repentance journey began. In RCIA many of the longtime elders in the church in the group were very uncomfortable when I brought up the scripture that we must examine ourselves before we take communion else we get sick or even die. After having hellish experiences in the occult I have no problem accepting that hell is real. Since my conversion experience all I want is to do God's will! The Holy Spirit convicts me to do this.
      More Christians need to receive the Holy Spirit! It says we are not Christians until we do. Not what is being taught in our RCIA! Bless you for preaching the full gospel 🕊

    Our church is supposed to be saving souls. Leading people to salvation. Not condoning sins.
    We are all sinners and the need for the sacrement of reconcilliation is so important and the catholic church now acts like it is no big deal. Shameful. 😪

    Fr Doyle, what a pity there are very few priests like you in the world of today. I am an Irish man living in Canada who was born in Co Sligo and the 2nd eldest of 16 children of which 2 have died. I am quite a religious person who goes to the Latin Masses of the FSSP & SSPX here in Montreal Canada of which I love. I say my morning prayers, evening prayers, and my rosary on a daily basis. Your videos are wonderful and you are another St John Vianney (Curé D'Ars) of France and St Padre Pio of Italy, both two wonderful Saints among the many..It would be wonderful to meet you one day in the beautiful Glendalough of St Kevin. We had a lovely priest in Glenade/Ballintrillick called Fr Doyle & a Fr O'Dowd before him who was our priest for First Communion always in the Extraordinary Form (Tridentine) I will have my Fraternity of Saint Peter priest say a Mass for your intentions one day soon. My dear mother, RIP God bless her, used always say to me when I was home on the many holidays; “Oisin, Ireland is no longer the Ireland you left when you were 23 years old” (now 49 years ago) Big changes have come upon the once “Land of Saints & Scholars” What a shame! Sometimes it makes me think that Ireland is returning to paganism...God forbid!

    • @jamesmartello1
      @jamesmartello1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is wonderful that you are so faithful to your daily prayers and the rosary, Mr. Clancy, and the Extraordinary Form of the Mass is glorious. I attend and serve regularly, my parish in New Orleans, Old St. Patrick's, has the Extraordinary Form. It is, however, not permissible for faithful Catholics in good standing with the Church to attend Mass at SSPX chapels. They are not in Communion with Rome. Their Masses are valid, but not licit, and attendance is tantamount to attending a protestant service. You should not attend and certainly not receive the Eucharist there. The Society of St. Peter, however, is fully Catholic and in Communion with the Church. FSSP is faithful. SSPX is not. Please don't go to SSPX. We need you in the Catholic Church. Remember me in your prayers and I will remember you. God bless you.

But they never heeded His call.Which proves to us how truly special the Lord's gift of free will is: By it we can decide for ourselves whether we want to go to heaven or to hell.All faithful believers, let's pray unceasingly for the Lord to protect us from the wiles and deceptions of the devil and to keep holy the Catholic Church.

      Yes, to a properly Ordained priest. The I969 Ordination rite of Paul VI is invalid' The basis of the Sacrament of Confession is , " Jesus blew on the Apostles and said , receive Holy Spirit, whose sins you forgive , will be forgiven, whose sins , you do not forgive, will not be forgiven . " John 20 :22. The Bishop used to place his hands on the head of Deacon, while repeating the same words of Jesus. Paul VI removed this vital part from his ordination, thus taking away from the Priest, the authority to forgive sins.

We as humans use our senses for the holy statues, icons etc. Many Catholics(not all) read sacred scripture ( which by the way we have 7 more canonical books) than you Protestants don't have. I could go on and on regarding the unbelievable stories of holy saints that utilized these sacramentals that were told by Jesus and Our Lady herself to use as means of protection. So if I were you I'd keep my comments to myself because really you are clueless. Most of the other items you mention like scapulars are items of superstition, but Catholics need them because they don't understand their own religion and how it relates to God’s Salvation plan for mankind as revealed in the Written Word of God. As to reading God's User manual the Bible, I don't think that the many Catholics read the Bible, because the Church does not encourage or teach the reading of Scripture. You make a big mistake in assuming I am a Protestant. I am a Catholic, but I do not have my head in the sand, and I am not hiding in meaningless doctrines and superstitions which will not get you to eternal life. THE Church is in crisis with a capital C. The major problem is that the Laity is as dumb as dirt, more willing to be involved in Superstitions and following blind meaningless rules, than to understand their religion and actively take control of the Church. The Church hierarchy, including the Pope are employees and functionaries, they need to be directed, the problem is that the Laity has no clue of what needs to be done to turn the Church around.

    Well, glad that you condemned Card. Marx teaching on hell. But I still have problem with you. I am a priest myself and I am against the many errors both Bishops, Cardinal and the Pope Francis are pushing into the Catholic Church. I am concerned about the true faith. That is why I take time to hear what you are saying. I have problem with you because 1. you speak like a Protestant. You seem not to be very comfortable with the Catholic Faith. 2. You seem to want to create a distraction between the teaching of Jesus and the teaching of the Church, between the teaching of the Bible and the teaching of the Church. You sound confusing. You seem not to stand totally with the Church. 3. Your first video I watched was your condemnation of Fr. Rodrigue and it put me off on you. You were both unfair and shallow in your assessment of him. I am a priest far away in Africa. But this is my impression of you. You are more guilty of the self praise and self projection you accused Fr. Rodrigue of. You quickly jumped on him to condemn him. But you failed to check and see that Saints and Mystics in the past and now are saying the same thing. I write these things because I am concerned about the Church and the True Faith. You Americans and Europeans are the ones corrupting the True Faith. 4. Again it is wrong for you to present the wrong teachings of one immoral and depraved Bishop or priest in America or Germany or Rome as an ERROR IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, as I have seen in some of your videos. I do not like your approach, sincerely, you may end up creating more problems. However, in the end the Immaculate Heart will triumph and the True Faith will shine again. I commend you to God.

I can't see where Fr Doyle speaks like a protestant in any of his videos but speaks with rationality faith and clarity on church teachings. I feel very uplifted by his videos and as far as Fr Rodriguez goes, well these kind of private revelations have to be weighed up in light of if they are legitimate or not and are not bound by pain under mortal sin to accept and or believe them. You say Europeans and America is to blame for problems in the church. That's a big claim. I would rather say that the problems in the church are not bound by ethnicity or country border but rather the evil spirit of the age that is world wide, including Africa. What are you expecting from Fr Rodriguez that you don't already know from other mystics as you say. This is just my opinion of your comment about Fr Doyle. God bless.

      Hi Fr. Duru, I believed you might have misunderstood the message by Fr. Thady. The key message that Fr. Thady reminded me was story of the of the adulterous woman that was brought to Jesus by jews to test His reaction because by custom the adulterous woman would be stoned to death. Jesus kept on scrippling on the sand, after while and Jesus told to the crowd who has not sinned go ahead and cast the first stone. One by one starting from the eldest they dropped the stone and walked away. Jesus also did not cast the stone and told her to go in peace, but the message was two parts first the forgiveness that Jesus displayed and the second part where I believed Fr. Thady wanted to remind us Jesus also told the woman (SIN NO MORE). Therefore, dear Fr. Duru is the true message by Jesus that Fr. Thady confirmed. Today the most Church Leaders only concentrate on the first part of forgiveness but totally disreguard what are (SINS). IF ONE CANNOT DISTINGUISH OR CONFIRM SINS AND NOT SINS, HOW IS IT POSSIBLY THAT PERSON CAN BE A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST IN SHEPHERDING THE FLOCK?
      May the Peace in Christ be always with you.
