Loved this episode, one of many! Season 5 was underrated. A couple clunkers exist, true, but the format change had overall more hits and a needed breath of fresh air. Wish this series would be released on blu-ray.
I went through a renaissance of enjoying this series again very much about 10 years ago on MeTV, after not seeing it for a very long time prior to that, having forgotten its zippy, often quite witty humor, a wacky spoof of Cold War espionage. Having forgotten the vast amount of episodes, the series was totally fresh to me, a good feeling. I was in the mood for its vanished type of comedy. Seeing Don Adams again was like a breath of fresh air. Clearly, he was one of TV's most unique comic actors. Somehow, once again, I haven't seen the series in, as I said, about 10 years. Coming across this clip by chance has put me in the mood for it again. I hope I'll enjoy it as much. Depends, I think, where certain types of humor or shows find one at a particular time in their lives. Perhaps I'll find the series as delightful as I did10 years ago!
"We've known for some time now that an enemy spy satellite has been taking pictures of our spy satellite. That package contains film that our spy satellite took of their spy satellite taking pictures of our spy satellite." Hah Hah Hah !! I still visualize Tennessee Tuxedo and his side kick Chumly every time I hear Don Adams speak on this show.
I believe the origin of this joke was from the flight of Apollo 9 the year before, in March of 1969. During that mission, astronauts Rusty Schweikart & Dave Scott conducted a joint EVA, with Schweickart doing a space walk from the LEM and Scott sticking up from out of the hatch of the CM. Scott & Schweickart were photographing each other as they floated around in space. This was televised and Scott made a comment/joke that they were getting pictures of people taking pictures of people taking pictures.
Back when the stewardesses were called either stewardesses of hostesses, they were young, pretty, unmarried and wore miniskirts and those caps. Today? Ugh.
I just about had that. I flew from El Paso to BWI on 1/1/2000. Everyone was scared to fly that day because of the Y2K computer crash rumors. About 3 people other than me on the plane. Relaxing!
How come I don’t remember this? I saw Get Smart in the 60’s on TV when young and then later when I was working in a TV company, I asked to rerun this. The producer asked me if this was any good and I told that sure, it was created by Mel Brooks.
It sounds like you already now this but just in case: "Despite a widespread belief that Mel Brooks wrote the entire series, he is in fact credited as a writer on only three episodes: #1: "Mr. Big (with Buck Henry) #10 "Our Man in Leotards" (with Gary Belkin) #15: "Survival of the Fattest" (with Ronny Pearlman)" I believe he left the show VERY early to work on a movie he wrote called, "The Producers" imo it's a masterpiece like almost all of his work. Cheers, John Noe
Love the knowing look on her face as Max inflates the balloon, as if she knows exactly what he's up to - based on the fact that he's just about to inflate a banana balloon and insta-connect it wi-fi to the Chief's office.
I missed that. It's so subtle and if noticed it's hilarious. Makes me wonder how many other subtle things I missed when watching the show. Regardless of that though, the things I did notice had me laughing for a large percentage of the time.
Nice walk down memory lane, Judith. You are gorgeous, Judith! God bless you! All who call on the name of the Lord (the real Lord) shall be saved. Romans 10:13
Considering Larrabee's offic e is right next to the Chief's, & the sliding door was open ed, why didn't the Chief sim- ply ask Larrabee to bring hi- m one, rather than trying to call him on his office phone? (A balloon phone, th at is).
My father's favorite show.
Thanks to TH-cam I can now show my grandchildren where my absurd sense of humor came from. Mel Brooks and Buck Henry.
I don't know what to say, but I think this type of stuff they showed on tv to your generation is I think an offense to human intelligence.
I didn’t know you could have a sense of humour today. Hasn’t been banned?
When TV shows were really funny.
The old jet shows how old this sitcom is. I was 10 years old when this was new and now I'm a old man not far away from 70.
707 I think. Remained in service commercially until 2013.
Comedy gold from my youth.
“Alright mr smart you have choice ... or do I get the egg Benedict “ 🤣 Classic get smart never short of amusement and humor
For some reason, the laugh track doesn't activate when he says that.
Man, did I love get smart. I still say … missed it by this much… almost daily. Of course, m a golfer.
The balloon phone. Hahahahaha!
Lol. Since Apple Phone exist, Then Ballon phone be possible.
It looked cool
Just the right amount of stupid to be funny. Don sells it while speaking into it just as if it was a real phone. lol

Good old days of tv not the shit thats on now🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Judith McConnell was also Princess Marta in the first episode where Don Adams doubles as Maxwell Smart lookalike, the King of Coronia.

Larabee was hilarious! Him chasing after the balloon just made me spit my dinner. I loved watching Get Smart with my brother when I was a kid.
And the Chief getting his migraines lol
My mum loved Larabee 😅
I loved all of the characters but I think the chief was my favorite.

The old phone in the balloon trick

He was a funny comedian 🤣🤣🤣😃😃🤣😀😅🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Balloon phone. Genius.
Beautiful
Imagine a plane all to yourself! Considering how today's airlines are, I'd just enjoy it!
I'd run up and down the isles. ha ha

I’d give that flight attendant my package any day.
Good dialogue!

It was the 1960s there was no wifi
Nothing on TV is worth watching anymore
Yeah. It's all boring stuff for old people.
@@weepingkoopa2862 Old people like me never watched the crap anyway.
yes, tv is dying out, which is why we have you tube and netflix.

A 4 engine jet to fly from Chicago to DC. Now it would be one of those dinky little regional jets.
Ah good ol comedy. Now there's just sex, sex and more sex in nowadays comedies
What a knockout.
With Smart on our side it’s amazing we won the Cold War!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Egg Benedict for dinner? That IS suspicious.
We praise you Jesus
I don't want to burn your eggs benedict. they are poached!
