A sound review, which after considering several jacket options I purchased this Electron Pro (RAB) from Taunton Leisure a week ago. I am outside everyday walking with my dog for 2-3 hours + in all weathers. Already it has kept me warm as a midlayer under a hardshell ( Berghaus MTN GTX Seeker) , in wet conditions, and earlier today in sub- zero temperature as an outer layer... I am very pleased with this jacket and Taunton Leisure provided a great service.
This is a great form following function product. I tried and parted with RAB’s Neutrino/Positron/Valiance/Infinity (the beast, not the microlight) and kept the Electron. It fits almost as sveltely as an Arc T Cerium, but it’s magical in its own right, and it’s a tougher piece. I’d recommend it as a first move if you’re looking at RAB and live in a moderate/cold climate. I’m a 44 chest and the XL fits like it was cut for me.
Thank you for your comment. When our winter stock comes in we will take a look at getting a video like this sorted. In the mean time if warmth is your only concern then the Axion Pro would be the warmer out of the 2. However, it isn't as packable as the electron pro if you plan to carry it on longer treks.
Hi Abin, It is just a different jacket, similar warmth and more robust, but heavier and a larger pack size than the Mythic Alpine. So better if you want something harder wearing but still light, but if you want ultralight and compact go Mythic
Hello, this jacket looks great, at least in the messy Subject. I think i'm a electron pro related. I don't have a Rab store near me, and I decide on this young color. I manager Beluga and ink colors?
Hard to talk about the fit, style etc when it’s lying on a table. It’s like reviewing a car without driving it or reviewing a restaurant by looking at the menu. There’s little info that’s not available on their website.
Thank you for your comment. We have a more up to date video available under the name "Rab's Midweight Insulation Showdown with the Electron Pro, Mythic Alpine, and Nebula Pro!" It should offer a better insight into the jacket and other alternatives
Down Jackets aren't designed to keep you dry. However the down is treated so that if it does get wet it will still keep you warm. If you are after a waterproof down jacket you would be better off looking at the Rab Valiance
Hi, the jacket is very wind resistant, in extreme wind and cold you might get some cold spots on the seams, as the jacket is stitch through construction and not taped on the seams

When the jacket is zipped completely upped does it fit under the chin or does it sit on top of the chin?

Could you make a comparison between Axion Pro and Electron Pro? Especially about the warmth they offer?

I am really happy with my electron pro in blue,,my best down jacket ever..
Is it better than new mythic alpine jacket 🤔🤔

Will this cope ok in rain?

Does the hood completely tuck away ?
Hi the hood does not tuck away completely, it rolls up and is secured by a Velcro tab.
Is this the anthracite color?
Hi, this is the Beluga colour
What color is Beluga in sunlight? Thanks
I would describe it a a very dark gray
@@tauntonleisure Thank you! I’m 5’8/170 with an athletic build. What size would you recommend?
I would recommend measuring your chest. As you maybe a small or medium. Once you do let us know and we will help you choose
