A lot of budget which could be invested in research and development is being forced on defence (both external and internal). The 3 periods come under Mesozoic Era. So, in geological terms Vasuki Indicus existed in Paleocene Epoch( Tertiary Period which comes under Cenozoic Era).

Yeah at times evolutions is fascinating. Just shows more of the charles Darwin's theory "Survival of the Fittest" whales probably slowly began adapting to aquatic habitat to avoid extinction then again it's only my guess
