His name was Maharaj Purushottam(Puru in short). Greeks couldn't properly pronounce Indian names, so they called him Porus. No such limitation for us Indians, so we should use proper names.

Alexander lost the battle and was killed in the battle. The one who wrote the history of Alexander was Rufus. He wrote it in 1A.D nearly 300 years after Alexander's death. So, the conclusion is when you are writing somebody's history that too after 300 years, how can that be accurate?
Definitely he died in the war and later modern historians tried to cover up his loss by saying he died of illness.

let's say that Porus loose the battle but in terms of morality and psychology Alexander loose the battle. If he was a real war hero, he would be died in war field not in sickness. When he estimated that he can't afford more wars with big kingdoms of India, he step back. Now this shows how little capable the Alexander soldiers was. Basically he fear the loosing of battle. So, what the greek and roman said is just a one sided view. They should ask to Alexander why he came back, Why he did not enter and conquer whole India and should be documented this statesments properly. So, in my opinion Greeks and Romans did wrong propaganda😂😂😂 about Alexander.

Besides Alexander and his army had been conquering all the way from Macedonia until Indus river so they were far more experienced as well ofcourse then again you have to consider the fatigue and exhaustion of the troops too due to which they didn't want to continue the conquest to Nanda Empire
