  • I was getting service done to my vehicle and decided to walk the dealer lot to pass time. In the corner by a tree was a “brand new” Aegean Blue Honda Civic Type R left to rot. As a person who’s obsessed about the cleanliness of my car, it is tragic to see a “new” vehicle being left out like this, especially something as rare as a Type R.

I agree with you. When I picked up my type R, I specifically told them not to wash the car and that I will do it myself at home.

THE KongMan When my friends dad got his Dodge Demon, they made sure the dealership didn’t touch his car as well and waited for me to detail it at home. It’s very common for the enthusiasts to do so.

zakkrick With the equipment they wash with, it’ll just be installing more swirls. It’s cringeworthy to people like myself, but I understand that not everybody has the same mindset or is even aware of anything being wrong with this in the first place.

Whoever buys this car should ask for a HUGE discount. Such a sad way to treat a car like this.

f181234 That’s understandable for the average consumer. For most people, they could careless about the quality of the paint, whether or not it has etching and swirls etc. but for other’s who are a bit crazier and want a pristine car, it’s sad to see a “Brand New Type R” with trashed paint. It would cost a few hundred dollars to get that corrected by a professional detailer. Especially if someone wanted to get it PPF wrapped or Ceramic Coated. That was the reasoning behind my video since I’m part of the crazies that make sure my dealership doesn’t wash my car, and even when I took delivery of my car, I made sure they didn’t take any stickers off or wash it once it arrived. It’s best to do it yourself and take the extra precautions.
