@starshipeleven I'm really tired of gamer's stupidity, stop complaint about the engine. Bethesda also not using id tech (DOOM's engine) which they owned because it doesn't has Creation Engine's features. Long story short, different engines are good at different things, that is why there are so many of them. STOP pretend you know these kind of things. KOTOR 2, Alpha Protocol and Dungeon Siege 3 are some of other examples, Razorfist made a video about it which I think worth checking out. I said it before and I will say it again. New Vegas was great because of both Obsidian and Bethesda, without one another New Vegas wouldn't be as good as it is.
@starshipeleven See you don't know what you're talking about, "Whatever you can do with Fallout 3's engine you can do with most other engines as well." Name one god damn game that has the same modding complexity as Fallout and Elder Scroll, where user generate contents are massive and easy to use with high quality, Valve's game and GTA doesn't count by the way, because they are no way on the same level as Bethesda's mods. Creation Engine was build upon a MMO game engine, that is why it can make NPC feel like another player characters, just about anything you use in the game can be used by NPC as well from outfits, weapons to furnitures. When you drop an item in the random place in game, the next time you come back the game is capable to remember it instead of despawn it, the engine is capable to remember and track insane amounts of records (every NPC has the type of data that is for the player, inventory, states, perks relationship etc ), and if you has a mod uninstall, the engine will remove the record for you, where in other game this will most likely desultory your save file.
@starshipeleven XCOM game mods are more inconvenient to make if I recall correctly, even something as simple as editing existing record require the user know some basic code, just check Nexus don't you see it has considerable less mod when you compare to Fallout or TES? And everything were easier done in older games, the real question is why is there no other companies try to make their own version of Skyrim or Fallout 4 if it were just as you say it is? I don't see Ubisoft, EA or CDPR made their RPG heavy modding oriented.
You can definitely tell from those animations that the Vertibirds in Fallout 4 are just modified Skyrim dragons. When you tried to hover at a higher altitude and it dipped down and around first - that's the Skyrim dragon pathfinding code working its... magic?
Doesn't the skyrim mod work exactly like the fallout mod? The dragon flying is the same with the hit w once and it stays there, same goes when you click left and then you circle around.
I made my own personal vertibird mod when Automatron came out. Landing a vertibird require no land which is coded as have water. So your pad over the water pool means it's not considered a viable landing spot.
I feel like fallout 4 is one of the games that needs mods to really give you full experience. Sure the first playthrough being vanilla is okay, but theres just so many mods that make the game so much better or even add things that should be in the game by default, flying a vertibird is one of them.
I'm about to finish my first vanilla playthrough, and I'm already thinking about my second one. Besides the essentials (FO4SE, etc..) can you recommend me some really good mods?
@@djabdk it really depends what kinda of experience you want. But no settlement limit (can build as much as you like), rich merchants (instead of few hundred or thusand caps shops vendors now have 10-11k caps, does not apply to your settlement ones), don't remember the name but a mod that allows you to have a follower + dogmeat. Normally you can only have 1 follower but the mod allows you to have one of the humanoid followers and dogmeat, he is a good pack mule. Different weapon mods don't hurt wither. Personally i use ru557 assault rifle, mg42 and rpg7 mods. I outfit my minutemen army with those. Think artillery is useless? Get simple artillery mod. It makes 1 howitzer be able to shoot across the entire map, gives them shorter cooldown, increases how far you can throw a flare, makes flares weigh 0.1 instead of 0.5 and are now craftable for absolutely no resources in the chemistry table. Armor mods are also good but pick whichever you like

Usually, I tend not to write anything in the Internet and I know that nobody cares about me and what I want to write here. But... a little off-topic: it was so nostalgic and coincidental for me to hear Petr Tchaikovsky's "Slavic March" in this particular video. The thing is that in my childhood I loved very much the documentary film "История русской авиации" ("The history of the Russian aviation") by Matthew King Kaufman & Maxim Zolotukhin (in 2 episodes), where the story of our aviation was told by a great voice actor Andrei Yaroslavtsev (may you rest in Peace, the voice of the Childhood). Not just a film, but a whole fairy-tale - a mythopoetical narration - for a little aviation aficionado. And in the very beginning of this motion picture the "Slavic March" was the opening theme - the opening to this whole aviational sphere, full of horror and death, but also of infinite epiphany of investigations and creativity. I can never stop my eye from dropping a nostalgic tear everytime I hear this masterpiece, because everytime I hear it, I transfer to my childhood and diffuse in the aviational metaphysics. And here, just whilst searching different mods for Fallout 4, I encounter this video and hear the "Slavic March". In the context of aviation. So coincidental and nostalgic. I am really sorry for such sentimentalism - I am just a lonely boy who tends to keep everything with himself and not to tell anyone. You do not have to read it all.
Pairing this with F-Com Commander and vertibird faction paint schemes is very badass, you can basically make your own Verti-Assault teams based on factions (excluding Institute.) Right now I’m basically commanding a gunner strike team, and they get a verti strike team
Very cool mod. 2 questions though. Is the vertibird as flimsy as the other ones when enemies shoot it. Also what happens to your pilot if they are killed after the get out of the vertibird? Okay a third question can you have one in each settlement?
In case this is even still relevant: 1; no, these things can take a beating, but you can set them to be indestructible even. 2: hasn't happened before, Pilot may have at least protected status 3: yes. But you will only be able to recall the Vertibird you last used.
Ok after some testing it is in the chemistry station and you place it down. It doesn't work too well and I had to go into no collision to get it to work properly
Vertibird parts should come from going around and destroying vertibirds and walking through their wreckage rather than scouring already destroyed ones which is far more annoying even then they tend to not have any on them.
how to pick up vertibird parts, i tried killing brotherhood of steel flying ones and walking around them but no "E" showed up to pick up parts, and vertibirds did Haven't been able to find an "E" on the map for a long time
And to spice shit up, use the X-01 player home base, it comes with a shop you can buy ammo, resets quite often, you get 2 settlements + like 10 power armor frames
This is what a game modification should be like, adding something awesome to the game that wouldn't normally be there, have it be engaging with features that work, along with some creativity and it let's you experience the game in a new way.

Okay, cool, but my mod isn't working at all. Nothing has been added to my game and I'm not sure why. I don't even know where I'm meant to place the mod because nowhere does it say where to put it.
This looks neat, and if your in survival mode it really great fast travel method. The other vertabird mod is glitchy... The AI seems to get combined with AFF if you use it and the stupid thing wants to kill EVERY tiny creature I flew over and won't leave till all dead :( This, you cn just ignore them and keep going.
I downloaded this mod a few days ago found it kind of hard to fly. Also trying to exit the vertibird sometimes seemed to have some issues after youve landed. Still fun tho should try and use the ps4 controller with it
Best part about this is that it fits perfectly into my fanfiction about the atom cats repairing BOS vertibirds and taking over the commonwealth by working with the minutemen
I am pretty sure it's on the mod description, but you open your pip-boy and choose a fast travel location. The vertibird will then fly to your settlement and land. Press E to exit. When you press R to take off, then you use the W key to fly forward, A to rotate left, D to rotate right and S to stop and hover. * unless you are already doing this, and can't move??
I didn't thought it was possible at first. But, my personal Vertibird went into a dogfight with BoS Vertibird (I randomly shot one in the name of science!) While it is one sided fight (my Vertibird is armed with missile launcher). Still, it is a pretty cool sight to watch
if you havent already figured it out; you have to get in it and engage the hover, then u have to open the command unit/beacon thing and adjust your flight path in small increments such as fly forward, bank right, bank left and so on. Its not as intuitive as on pc but its aight.
This mod seems quite well workimg maybe because Vertibirds are a vanilla vehicle dm don't collide that much with the ground like cars do. Non the less great work and i have to take a look if it is available on Xbox.
Thanks for the review. Would love to see a comparison between this and the Vertibird Pchela (one of the less buggy vertibird mods out there) for features and stability. thanks again for the video.
I for some reason cannot use WASD controls for this mod. The only way I can control it is with the flight menu that has buttons to command the vertibird to move in different directions. I don't know if I downloaded a wrong file or something but I know the mod description says you can use WASD to control it. Other than that though the mod is pretty useful, just not what I downloaded it for.
I have so many mods that are making the Minutemen a very organized army now. Militarized Minutemen, Commonwealth Vehicles, and now this. It kinda makes wish Bethesda put more love into the Minutemen.
@@foxtrotsierraproductions8626 Doesn't mean they can't improve. It was very pleasing watching the them go from a rag tag militia to looking like a professional army.
FYI the new patch to fallout broke the F4SE required to manually fly, and most of the mod. We have to wait for the F4SE mod creater to update it, or roll the patch back
Is there a mod that adds in fast travel options to settlements? For example you can place down a Vertibird in the settlement and when you click on it it will open up a menu with a list of locations to travel to. I like playing survival and being immersed so Enabling regular fast travel isn't really an option
@@henrymeek7135 I figured out that it’ll work if you turn off core consumption but if your on Xbox it won’t give you free reign to go where you want you have to open up your pipboy and tell him what to do from there to get him to fly. That’s how it made me do it.
I know it's 3 years late, but i've been playing with this mod this week and i found a trick to make the vertipad work a bit more reliably. It's as far as i can tell an issue of object load order, so the pad loads in pretty late and the VB Script doesn't find it so it defaults to the home position or the known landing spot for that location. If you engage manual mode as the settlement loads in you can then tell it to land again once you see the pad loaded in and it will usually land on the pad properly. (9 out of 10 times)
Its the mechanics, its trying to be as realistic as possible, those propellers were moving forward hence you lose altitude but once you gain speed you'll gain altitude as you move forward, a helicopter would lean forward to get enough speed
Is anyone else having the issue where once entering the vertibird it says its out of fuel? Says i need a fusion core. I have 2000..... idk how to apply it to the vertibird tho....
So, I dont know if this will help but when I used the mod on Xbox Series X (and the One), I had the same issue but I had the 4k "Seen Better Days" Pip-Boy retexture mod installed. Once I uninstalled it, it worked fine so maybe that's it? Im not sure..
i download this mod and it seem cant work, after i install nothing happen,i cant see any vertibird in special settlement bulidable, nothing in chemistry crafting,i try to manual intall still nothing, can anyone please tell me how to install this mod properly (T T)
how to pick up vertibird parts, i tried killing brotherhood of steel flying ones and walking around them but no "E" showed up to pick up parts, and vertibirds did Haven't been able to find an "E" on the map for a long time
Tengo un problema y es que aunque juego en PC el juego detecta que ando jugando en XBOX y no me deja conducir el helicóptero solo darle órdenes al piloto
I can only use the command and return holotape to manually control it. it doesn't let me use my wasd keys to control and r or any other manual select key wont work either
I'm on Xbox and this doesn't work every time I get in it the game tells me that it needs a power core I've checked everywhere and I can't figure out how to make it work
I'm having trouble figuring out this mod on xbox. I'm trying to figure out how to fly it & how to setup different home bases so all my vertibirds dont all land at the same settlement.
This mod seems to be hit or miss. I installed it, but am unable to control flight myself even after engaging manual flight mode. The mod creator says he is aware but it is unfixable, in a sticky post.

There was a flyable Vertibird mod for New Vegas, 8 years ago.......
ok
Yes but it didn't work very well
It sucked
Whenever I get in the vertibird and press R I take off but I can’t move.
How do you switch to manual flying on console? No button I've pressed has done it
if you havent already figured it out; you have to get in it and engage the hover, then u have to open the command unit/beacon thing and adjust your flight path in small increments such as fly forward, bank right, bank left and so on. Its not as intuitive as on pc but its aight.
That mod was the best I tried it and it was awesome
Time for a real RPG experience in Fallout 4
Flying vertibirds = RPG ?
@@milazapallo8995 immersion= rpg my guy, maybe thats his point. Nobody knows..
I need help. No matter what setting for the manual control it won't work. Does everything else except that
This mod seems quite well workimg maybe because Vertibirds are a vanilla vehicle dm don't collide that much with the ground like cars do.
Non the less great work and i have to take a look if it is available on Xbox.
Ok now this is really impressive
Hey where is the landing pad at in the options ? It's not right next to the vertibird like his ? Is it in prefabs ?
Same
Is it possible to add two miniguns to the sides and have BOS guards on the bird while there are chairs to side down on?
Thanks for the review.
Would love to see a comparison between this and the Vertibird Pchela (one of the less buggy vertibird mods out there) for features and stability.
thanks again for the video.
2020 mod of the year !
How do i add this??
Finally we can pilot the V-22 osprey but smaller.
I have so many mods that are making the Minutemen a very organized army now. Militarized Minutemen, Commonwealth Vehicles, and now this. It kinda makes wish Bethesda put more love into the Minutemen.
The Minuteman are not allowed to be that militarizes since they are Militia
@@foxtrotsierraproductions8626 Doesn't mean they can't improve. It was very pleasing watching the them go from a rag tag militia to looking like a professional army.
@@punishedghost4970 what is this mod name
lol at you talking while flying out the map
FYI the new patch to fallout broke the F4SE required to manually fly, and most of the mod. We have to wait for the F4SE mod creater to update it, or roll the patch back
How do i lower my altitude without landing on fast travel?
Regardless i love driving helicopters in games and always wanted to drive a vertiberd, thank god for this mod
Very cool, It would be good for a later in game thing to do. Thanks :)
Is there a mod that adds in fast travel options to settlements? For example you can place down a Vertibird in the settlement and when you click on it it will open up a menu with a list of locations to travel to. I like playing survival and being immersed so Enabling regular fast travel isn't really an option
is there a way to add storage to the vertibird?
I don’t know if I’m doing it right but I’ve done this but the pilot takes over lol
Ik same
I can't even build the damn thing
Great vid, but PLEASE, watch your music choices and sound mixing, I had some brass blaring in my ear while trying to hear the features on this one.
XRE did it better with New Vegas
Edit.
But great review! Love the enthusiasm!
I don’t know how to give it fusion cores. It wont fly without them for me
Same here it says you have to put them in the cargo hold but I haven’t been able to figure out how to do that
@@henrymeek7135 I figured out that it’ll work if you turn off core consumption but if your on Xbox it won’t give you free reign to go where you want you have to open up your pipboy and tell him what to do from there to get him to fly.
(9 out of 10 times)
i cant control as manually and there is no option binding key for manual flight
Does it also work on Xbox or PS4?
If I'm correct only on xbox but it's still in testing
Its the mechanics, its trying to be as realistic as possible, those propellers were moving forward hence you lose altitude but once you gain speed you'll gain altitude as you move forward, a helicopter would lean forward to get enough speed
i installed the mod,i can build the bird but i cannot fly it and it doesnt give me the holotape or the beacon, wut
You have to go to a Chem Lab and look for the mod specific craftables. You'll find both there.
It would be great if you could give the Vertibird an Enclave paint job for XBox 1.
For PC nexus has an enclave paint
Is anyone else having the issue where once entering the vertibird it says its out of fuel? Says i need a fusion core. I have 2000..... idk how to apply it to the vertibird tho....
Same idk what to do
Same
Damn... I was so excited to fly it... still no solution. If you guys find one please let me know.
So, I dont know if this will help but when I used the mod on Xbox Series X (and the One), I had the same issue but I had the 4k "Seen Better Days" Pip-Boy retexture mod installed.
Once I uninstalled it, it worked fine so maybe that's it? Im not sure..
This gonna need a patch to work with CROSS Exoframe for you to be able to jump out.
Nice I hope they add this to Fallout 76 if they every let us mod it.
Question, why am I hearing Marche Slav being played?
can you use the front machine gun on the vertibird the one the pilot controls?
How do you craft it though? I have everything yet it won't allow me to craft
thx for sharing man! For survival they should have added this or at least a pack brahmin or whatever...
I think my f4se is not high enough. Is this mod need certain f4se version?
I think this mod has been broken within the past few weeks. A lot of peoppe are in the same boat.
i download this mod and it seem cant work, after i install nothing happen,i cant see any vertibird in special settlement bulidable, nothing in chemistry crafting,i try to manual intall still nothing, can anyone please tell me how to install this mod properly (T T)
How do you put the mini gun on whenever I craft the virdiberd there's no gun
One of my favorite mods
how to pick up vertibird parts, i tried killing brotherhood of steel flying ones and walking around them but no "E" showed up to pick up parts, and vertibirds did Haven't been able to find an "E" on the map for a long time
Tengo un problema y es que aunque juego en PC el juego detecta que ando jugando en XBOX y no me deja conducir el helicóptero solo darle órdenes al piloto
this is awesome tbh but what's the flying feel like ? dies it feel like your flying or is it janky asf?
I think you need to make an new video on this mod, as the mod has changed with how you fly the vertibird
UH1 Huey. Lore friendly helicopter and we need it in Fallout :D
This doesn’t fly like it shows in the video for me… am I missing steps or what?
So is this mod in the actual fallout mods section or do I need to a computer version for it?
I LOVE BEING THE CHOPPER GUNNER! Time to rain down lead onto those nuka raiders!
how do you open the special menu is it like a mod or soemtihng
I can only use the command and return holotape to manually control it. it doesn't let me use my wasd keys to control and r or any other manual select key wont work either
Do you have the code id for vertibird parts ? :( you can share with me yet or I can find is where ?
I'm on Xbox and this doesn't work every time I get in it the game tells me that it needs a power core I've checked everywhere and I can't figure out how to make it work
I think bethesda will hv to hire of all the top modders
ok, but how do you fly it in xbox? I have fusion cores but i need to put them in the cargo?
How do I add fusion cores to the vertibird??
I'm having trouble figuring out this mod on xbox. I'm trying to figure out how to fly it & how to setup different home bases so all my vertibirds dont all land at the same settlement.
So I'm on console, and I got this mod, but what button do I hit to manually fly it?
Is the music really necessary? It's like I'm trying to listen to a conversation during an opera.
Me: please oh god let this work for Ps4
Finally, the first pilotable Vertibird mod!!!
This mod seems to be hit or miss.
I installed it, but am unable to control flight myself even after engaging manual flight mode.
The mod creator says he is aware but it is unfixable, in a sticky post.
its true mod is shittttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt..................................
Would armor pieces that negate fall damage work in jumping off the helibird??
i would assume it would since you just jump out of the thing, i did it on accident but i was only like 5 meters up
So how does Starfield not have atmosphere flight but modders can add it to Fallout 4.
