    Why the heck would someone dislike this???... Very useful information. Thank you!

      Thank you for your kind words. There is a story behind this. I got into a heated conversation with someone about floating aquascapes on a forum and the guy said he hated it and disagreed with the approach, not a problem as far as I am concerned. I then got 30+ 👎🏻 within a week which might be a coincidence or there is a link 🤷‍♂️. Either way it is all good and the tank is doing well ✅

    That aquascape is incredible. I would love a floating reef. The best Red Sea Max Nano I've seen had a floating reef. Awesome job my friend 👍

      I agree, that tank looks awesome. full of scolly’s which makes it both very expensive and unique. Jay, Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏻👍🏻

    Need to buy a fluvel evo to do this.
    Heater
    Light
    Tmc circ pump
    Return pump 💪

      Great idea. Could also pick up a 2nd hand max nano or a RSR 170.

    looks great, thinking about doing my next tank with a floating aquascape. May just try your way.

    • @fishpalace
      @fishpalace  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go for it. It is something different and looks good now but when full of coral and you cannot see the rock then that should be great

  • @mattdiscus

    awesome video mate. I'm thinking about doing the same thing but I was thinking about making a larger piece so it hooks onto the back of the wall. Thought it will give me better support overall and i would also glue the pieces in

    • @fishpalace
      @fishpalace  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could do that or perhaps create a piece similar to the letter C with the base hidden by sand 🤷‍♂️

    • @mattdiscus
      @mattdiscus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fishpalace I could but it wouldn't be floating anymore lol

      @@mattdiscus tue but would give the illusion of a floating aquascape and that is the main thing

    This is great! I have an Reefer XL 200 coming and was going to use an Arka rock arch but it would leave a lot of the height unused, was looking at the Tunze magnetic rocks but a slim version of this could be a great way to fill the height a little and have a torch garden or something similar without any warfare 👍

      You could attach some frags to back wall and let them grow out. Something like Setosa or quick growing plating monti. Have seen a few people attach GSP to back and swats with movement of powerheads.

    Hi mate, thanks for the informative video. I am thinking of creating a floating aquascape for my new nano tank I am setting up. Question - is there any reason why you didn't use glass for the shelf to hold the rocks and used acrylic instead. I thought glass would stick better to the wall of the tank. Cheers.

    • @fishpalace
      @fishpalace  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MJSGHK thanks for watching. Acrylic is stronger than glass so went for that option. As for sticking to wall it depends on what you are sticking it too. Mine is acrylic onto a plastic weir so not an issue. Acrylic onto a glass weir would have been an issue as using the adhesive I did would not bind the 2 together.

    • @fishpalace
      @fishpalace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A guy I know who lives in the south east of England who makes acrylic tanks. Just gave him the dimensions and he sent it to me. If you are in uk and want me details let me know

    How has this held up? Would you recommend that marine grade silicone for this? I am not sure what type of silicone to use to do this, thanks

    • @fishpalace
      @fishpalace  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A really good question. The tank is still running and the shelf is still in place with no segregation to the silicone, as I recently checked. I am just about to release a 12 month update so watch this space. 👍🏻

      Acrylic doesnt bond with silicone. Will collapse, poor research and understanding of physics when supporting a weight.
