I enjoyed this, Bandrew! I guess I'm a 90+ year old man too, as I've been carrying handkerchiefs and prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses for years now too! 😆
You can absolutely be addicted to chapstick (well, not literally). Most kinds of chapstick actually dry out your lips leading to vicious cycle. Anything containing menthol, salicylic acid, cinnamic aldehyde, or peppermint is likely to cause that issue. For the times of year when you're dealing with strong direct sun it's good to find something without those things but with some SPF factor. For just dry air times (like cold winters) Vaseline is actually pretty good (there's Vaseline branded specifically for lips as well, it's fairly easy to carry around).
Darn. I'll have to look into alternatives then I switched off the Carmex train when I was in marching band because that stuff like burned your lips off. HA.
First of all, my wife and I are also chap stick addicts and we exclusively wear Burt's Bees. I was born in 1982 and when you pulled out the Acqua di Gio I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Good to know it wasn't just us 90s ravers wearing that stuff! I didn't know pop punkers wore it as well!
You cannot go wrong with the Aqua Di Gio, it is an amazing fragrance, and I always make sure to have a bottle on my dresser so I can wear it from time to time, it is an absolute classic!
I'm using an iPhone XR, just one year ahead of you. Phones seem to have reached the point where they don't fall apart every two years so there's no actual reason to upgrade until they break. No judgment here!
idk if burts bees has the same active ingredients, but one time i challenged myself to use an entire stick of chapstick. i didnt use it excessively, but i did always have it with me and i did use it daily. just putting this here to say you absolutely can get addicted to chapstick because when i stopped my lips bled for weeks. now i dont feel so bad about finding almost full chapsticks around the house.
Fantastic microphones bro! You're set for life on that front! That's the beautiful thing about a lot of audio gear (and a lot of EDC items too), they are truly BIFL if you take care of them. Keep up the great work and congratulations on the channel growing so well!
Great EDC! You're a man of class with an appreciation for durable leather goods. I want to suggest checking out One Star Leather Goods for a Field Notes cover. Also, fun fact, I keep a microfiber cloth folded in my wallet for cleaning my glasses! Oh, and I like Dr. Bronner's lip balm!✌
I tried carrying a leather cover for my field notes, it made them too bulky, so I just carry them raw dog. I'll have to check out the Bronners lip balm. Thanks!
I must be more mean than you because I am carrying the Victorinox Classic SD; in black. 😊 I also have a Maglite Solitaire LED in my Keychain along with my three keys.
The black one is mean as hell. When I picked up the SD, I was in a 90's vibe and that seemed the most 90's to me. I got the solitaire incandescent only to realize it was 2 lumens! HA!
I normally just carry things in my pockets. If I'm going in to the office (which I haven't done in over 2 years), I will use a briefcase/messenger back. Here's how it's organized. Front right pocket: Microfiber / Cell phone. Coin/watch pocket: AirPods. Front left pocket: Notebook & pen. Belt loop: Keychain. Back right pocket: Wallet Back left pocket: Handkerchief When I'm just puttering around my home I just lug around my water bottle and lanyard.
Watching this on an iPhone 6... and I also don’t care what you think of me because if it! Also since I have an actual headphone jack I can use the free earphones that used to come with the phones!
I wouldn't mind collaboration with Teddy. I don't know what it'd be. Maybe discussing or demoing his audio setup. But I don't think I'd bring much interesting to his channel for his audience.
You've probably answered this question before, but I've noticed that the sound quality of your videos has improved substantially compared with your early videos. What changed? I know you're using a more expensive interface, but is it more than that such as room treatment and mic technique?
Got this exact question yesterday. Here's the response... There are a lot of reasons for the difference over 5 years. 1) My presentation style is drastically different. Back then I was pretty much yelling and I was tense sounding. That's the main reason my voice sounds so different. 2) The electric guitar sounds different because I have a different amp, a different speaker, and have gotten better at placing the mic on the speaker. 3) The acoustic sounds different because of the room, but also because of the microphone placement on the acoustic is a lot better in recent videos. 4) In general the room has changed quite a lot and has more, and better sound treatment. 5) In general I exhibit much better microphone technique in the more recent videos as well. 6) Different audio interface contributes to this too, but only slightly.
@@Podcastage The thing I notice the most is a more distant and muffled tone to the old videos, a bit like when you move back from the mic. It's like the room is somehow sucking away some of the sound, which is something I've been noticing lately in my own mic tests. It seems to be somewhat remedied by getting closer to the mic, but not completely.
I have that same pocket knife. It's handy. I watched an old video of yours where you had the Zojirushi. It's funny because I actually had a Hydroflask (still do) but upgraded to Zojirushi, but I think you ditched the Zojirushi and went for Hydroflask.
I still have the zojurushi in my cupboard because it is a great bottle. I used that a lot for coffee when I was commuting to work, and It keeps stuff super hot. I did get a little bit nervous storing it in my bag even though it had the locking mechanism. I was always worried it would pop open and dump coffee on my computer. That's why I prefer the full screw on top bottles now. They seem much less prone to mechanical failure.
@@Podcastage Actually that makes sense! Sometimes it leaks. I use it for cold water. But I love how I can open it with just one hand. :D But your points are 100% on the money. I'd probably go that method too if I was drinking something hot.
Believe it or not, I started using them back when I used to leave my house. The better question would have been “why do you need “space” pens if you have never left the earths atmosphere?” But you have missed your opportunity.
Hey Bandrew! It was a cool video, I believe we get to know you better through these non audio related videos. Not that is relevant, but Giò (Acqua di Giò) is pronounced like Jo (or Joe).. ;) .. which stands for a sort of a nickname/short for Giorgio (which is pronounced JorJo).. without pronouncing the “i”.. Like the Bellagio in Vegas (or the actual city in Italy), you pronounce it “BellaJo”..
To be honest, I love microphones, and I love collecting them. But, I stopped buying them for financial security, and I never buy anything above the $99 price level.
