I think it will be difficult until you start to find a set of weapons for each of the skill trees. I think leather will be certain couches and armchairs. Animals. And I think the fancy chairs near desks - if you pick up and dismantle I think they give 6 leather each. As for the quest limit - I barely do 2 a day due to trying to loot the place clean of all resources, chairs, curtains etc. (Especially during the first week) But I could see it being an issue for those who like to speed run quests. ie Grab satchel through a hole then run, and come back for the stash later. That will depend on a persons playstyle I guess.
Oh, for sure! When I'm not recording, I do like you and pick a place clean. I will double loot as well! I know, I'm a filthy, dirty double looter, haha! It's all about enjoying the game the way you like to. I recorded Friday's episode and man, oh man was it painful. I need to start finding some better tier weapons for each skill tree quickly! The zombies are getting harder, and I'm still stuck with pipe batons and stone spears. As for the leather, I don't think I missed many opportunities to get some (ie chair or couches) - although it would be fun to rewatch the episodes and see how many times, I overlooked leather, haha! Thanks for checking out the series - I hope you are enjoying it. Thanks for all the feedback and tips - I enjoy reading the comments and learning new things to grow as a player. Do you work nights? Or is it daytime where you are at?
@@CLRgamingRN Living down under - so it's just hit 5:30pm, so been a daytime treat. I think some of the later hordes or the wasteland will be rough. As a newbie I spread my points among the weapons. Always try to put a couple in Machineguns, Pistols and Snipers and one melee. But toilet pistols are my favourite weapon so far. That said not really unlocked better than that other than AK. Have found the M60 in roadside duffel bag. But seems unfair to get 4th tier before unlocking 3rd. LOL. But some of the skill trees don't have much range option, so those will be rough for you come horde night.
Thanks for this episode CLR, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to more. I think this series is going to be very challenging in the beginning, but as you get further along its gonna be good. Are you limiting yourself on what armors you can equip (other than primitive) depending on what build you are using that day? Like, Nerd armor for intellect, assassin for agility, etc? Cause there are way more armor types than Attribute trees.
I look forward to doing more episodes if this body cooperates with me. I have not decided on the armor yet, but it seems fitting to only use the armors that closely relate to the Attribute Day. It will also give me a chance to really learn the different armor types, hmmmmm.
Turn the quest progression to unlimited before you log in next session. I did that, and ironically, I am doing a no job challenge. 😂 I also turn off blood moons because I don't enjoy them. I was going to turn them on for 1.0 until I saw that they last until 4 a.m. now. 😮
A 'no job challenge,' you say?! That sounds like a tough challenge. Thanks for letting me know that it is a slider you can turn on or off. I didn't realize hordes last all night now... great... awesome... I cannot wait, haha!
Heya CLR, Sorry if I am messaging you or spamming you too much with tips. I just thought I'd share what made things easier for me. Firstly, before you activate a quest, loot the place first and then activate the quest and you get double the loot 🙂 When I accept a quest, I travel to the quest destination, make 3 or so wooden storage crates just outside the place, loot everything and disassemble anything Iron using an Impact Driver, take all loot back to base and then go back, activate the quest, place a few more wooden storage crates (As the previous ones will disappear once you activate the quest, which is why I take everything back to base after the first looting) and loot everything again. Double the loot. Also, try to find/make a Helmet Light Mod which can be toggled on and off instead of using torches, candles, lanterns etc These create heat (Noise) which attracts more zombies and the Helmet Light mod doesn't 🙂
P.S. Bacon's idea of using spikes is a great idea too. I tend to make a ladder reach the ground on purpose and I stand on the top rung and place spikes on top of one another going up the whole length of the ladder. That way, by the time the zombies reach the top to you, they would have lost over half of their health 🙂 I always have a second way to exit just in case things get dicey, just make sure to have a way zombies can actually reach you so that they don't enter rage mode and destroy everything 🙂 I love manipulating zombie pathing...
P.P.S - Opposite Trader Rekt is a fenced off field area that contains boar. You can crouch/stealth kill them for animal fat, bones, raw meat and most importantly leather. I think these boar respawn every three days too 🙂
Oh, that's a great idea as well. I am not utilizing spikes like I should be. Mainly because I know myself and I will end up walking into them more than the zombies, haha. I will try to remember that ladder trick. Thanks!
@@CLRgamingRN Lol Holy smokes? Priest cigarettes? I saw you get double the loot from a couple of containers, but you can literally get double the loot from everything, especially the main loot chests/boxes/containers. As a rule of thumb, I tend to clear out all the zombies before looting anything at all (Unless zombie loot bags are dropped), eat an eye candy, loot everything as fast as possible, activate quest, clear zombies, eat another eye candy, loot again. Once the zombies are clear, start from the main loot before consuming an eye candy and work inside to out. You can even swap to armour pieces that increase loot stage (Like the Rogue Hood or all 4 pieces of the scavenger armour) Eye Candy - +5% loot Rogue Hood (Lv6) - +20% loot (Added bonus of opening loot containers quicker) Total - 25% Loot bonus Eye Candy - +5% loot All four pieces of the Scavenger Armour at level 6 - 20% Total - 25% Loot Bonus I think one of these pieces also gives you an extra 10 inventory slots when you have it at level 6 too, but I can't remember which one, sorry. Always a pleasure CLR. You play really well any way and you're great fun to watch. I just thought I would contribute ways of maximising loot, dukes and any other tips for an easier playthrough for you 🙂
Hey Jacob, this is a completely vanilla series (no mods). The games is looking (and playing) pretty good these days. Thanks for checking out the series!
@CLRgamingRN I think it can be done depending on what you get for horde night. Nerd armor for intellect is not going to be very good for protection from a horde. But I think you should be able to use any weapon, you just may not have any points in it so would suffer the loss of any bonuses.
If you use wood spike traps instead of a hatch or a block it will help you kill them easier.
Hey, that’s a great idea. I didn’t even think of that. It would have helped, especially for a day like that where all I had was a torch.
@@CLRgamingRN that's why I mentioned it. That was quite a struggle.
The shovel is also a good secondary weapon. On one play attempt it was doing more than my bone knife and stone spear. 🤣
The limit is 3 a day for quests that count towards your tier progression.
Ah okay! Thanks for letting me know. 3 a day so it’ll take 4 days to complete the starting quest right? You need to do 10 quests now?
@CLRgamingRN basically if you're doing them to get the bike you won't get it till day 4.
@@CLRgamingRN you do need to complete 10, but the "3 per day limit" is an option that can be changed.
@@Kenjanz Oh is it? I'll have to check that out next time I play. Thanks for the info.

Is this modded? This game has gotten quite the upgrade! 😱✨
Hey Jacob, this is a completely vanilla series (no mods). The games is looking (and playing) pretty good these days. Thanks for checking out the series!
So the challenge is to do the random skill tree each day AND you can only use the weapons in that tree?
That’s the challenge. Is it viable? I have no idea, haha.
