  • Two more hotel options here in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. Both are in the heart of the nightlife area. Penthouse Hotel, large rooms and right on A Santos street. Central Park Tower Resort, very well done hotel, large rooms and right next door to Swiss Chalet and Tequila Reef Restaurant.

    I enjoyed the Penthouse, but if I’m going to stay at a high end hotel. Then it’s got to be ABC. No comparison. I like the rooftop pool and restaurant at Central Park. They did a good job on their rooftop. Yeah prices are definitely up from 2019. Probably going to wait till Jan 2023 before I go back. Not worth all the extra fees, requirements, time, and Money. Good video man. Thanks for sharing.

    Sure wish I could be there, bossman. Hopefully one day. Oh well at least last weekend we got to rent a super nice spacious luxury cabin up in the north georgia appalachians. Flew my drone 2 miles right up to the cliff face of Mount Yonah.
    My zamboangenya wife and her filipina best friend made good use of the jacuzzi.

    I do enjoy a hot water soak in a bath tub. Prices do seem a bit steep BUT everything is going up up up across the world. Regular Joe's are getting priced out of the market for vacation travel cost of living which IMO is by design by the elite class.

      Agree on price, the closer you are to the nightlife the higher price point they get and people pay it.

    Kokomos has the best spot snack in the middle of walking street but the rooms looked too old with Spanish style..I wonder how much are the rooms at walk around hotel now?
    Back in 2016 use to e 1550 for standard room and 1800 for a better and bigger one

    Have to agree with most comments on the price. I stayed at the Central Park Tower (pre-Covid) for 3000 pesos a night. I thought that was a little high then but for a decent hotel and location it was worth it. Both hotels are really overpriced now, not the way to get tourists back.

    • @FOCUSonASIA13
      @FOCUSonASIA13  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have to agree on the pricing. There are still good rooms to be had at good prices, just have to do a little research or walking around once people arrive in area

    I stayed at kokomo in 2016 but I had to leave they fumigated the room and my girlfriend and I had sore throats and watery eyes and runny noses si I got my money back after 40 minutes dispute and we went to walk around hotel and it was much better

      Had same issue when we first got here, long stay hotel we were at fumigated their restaurant in the bottom floor, the fumes went right up into all the rooms aircons. We were sleeping at the time, woke up coughing and had to leave the room at 0100 and stay out until it cleared couple hours later. Checked out of that place shortly thereafter

    The Penthouse Hotel, well personally I’d like a bit more privacy in the CR/toilet 😁
    I know with some of these hotels in Angeles they like to have an open bathroom with zero privacy but not everyone is into that 😂
    If my guest or partner wants to take a dump then they should be allowed to do that in complete privacy 🤷‍♀️

    Thanks for sharing. I am an old F-4 Crew Chief from the 3rd AGS, was stationed at Clark Air Base in the 1970's and again in the 1980's. My Filipino wife and I visited the Philippines twice in 2018 and once in 2019 to visit her family in Benguet Province. We always stop in Angeles City for a few days and tour the former Clark Air Base and walk through the Night Life area. We stayed at the Red Planet in 2018 and the Brass Knob in 2018 and 2019. I found the Brass Knob to be adequate and very reasonably priced. We hope to travel back to the Philippines in 2023 to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and to celebrate the 47th anniversary of my first tour of duty at Clark Air Base.

    I stayed at Central Park Tower before, my issues with that hotel is the room doesn’t have a proper fridge, yes it has a tiny cooler style fridge but it won’t keep anything cold enough
    There is also no tea and coffee making facilities inside the room
    Lastly I wasn’t keen on the food they served at that hotel 🏨

    • @FOCUSonASIA13

    • @FOCUSonASIA13
      @FOCUSonASIA13  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arrange a private van is best way WS. Look up Margarita station in Angeles City, they used to have a van service pick up at airport. You don't even need to pay ahead you pay upon arrival to Angeles City after you exchange some money.
      This link to bluebook check it out. They usually have adverts for van service as well. Do not do a taxi from airport they will charge too much. bluebookph.com/issues/

      WS, I looked at Margarita Station website and still have the service they have car or van pick up at airport depending on how many people you have. 3250 pesos for car pick up which is US $65. They have never done me wrong, always waiting at airport with a sign with your name on it and then you can arrange when you reserve to have beer or drinks in a cooler for the ride to Angeles. www.acmargarita.com/rates-and-vehicles/

    Ah, yes another good video ! I still look at these high end hotels and compare them to the place in the 80's, and I realize that back in "the day" nobody would have believed that Clark would some day be sacrificed to clean and luxurious things. Could I get a small order of dirty and dangerous Clark Air Base please ? Never mind there was some of that in this video after all wasn't there ? Were any of those rooms in the BX/Bobbit theater area ?

      Those hotels actually near Walking St. I haven't done any hotels on Clark, and there are a lot of them, because they are too far from downtown and in my opinion way over-priced. Those hotels on Clark are for rich Manila types coming up to play in casinos.

      Unfortunately the cheesesteak was just OK, the meat was marinated in what seemed to be same marinade as Bistek if you are familiar with that. I assume they put the sandwich under a broiler to melt the cheese cause they over did it and one side was hard as a rock. I still have not found a good cheesesteak, except my house, here in Angeles.
