Nice! I thought about doing a version of that trip. Now I think I will fly, haha. I would have thought about just passing on it all together after seeing the prices but that indoor treetop walk looks amazing and worth the trip..

Another excellent adventure ! I have a nephew that lived there back in the mid 1990's . I think he still travels between there and Manila. The orchid gardens really seem worth the trip to me. I planted an avocado tree in my yard in Clarkview, and it grew up over the roof in under a year. I hung a couple of kinds of orchids from the branches and they grew like weeds ! Are you just kind of chilling, like us retired guys are entitled to do or are you back in some kind of grind ? Anyway thanks for the video, I like these lots more than the old nighttime walks down Fields, they're a LOT safer !

Singapore is on the list for a short visit but I’m just going to go ahead and fly in.

That bathtub was a pleasant surprise with a sky view. We will be using our credit card points for our hotel stay in Singapore. You're right, its crazy expensive for hotel rooms in a decent location in Singapore.

Never was based there, but flew into Clark on the 807 mission (any C141 crews out of Norton AFB might recall that mission). Of course, after Mt Pinatubo we never returned. Have good memories of the O club (good Mongolian BBQ) and Chambers Hall, which was the BOQ. We would leave our boots in the lobby and pick them up the next day all shined up! Since we arrived from Yokota (sometimes with a stop in Kadena if my memory is any good) very late at night, we were off for the next day to relax. Then departed for Andersen (Guam) at O’Dark 100 the following day.

Nice! I had a bus stop like that in Albania, except it was just straight highway before an off ramp.. Wow that market looked really clean..

Real bummer about the planned road trip being cancelled especially since it wasn't your fault and pretty whacked the bus dropped you off on the side of the road ! The two of you handled these well though and you ended up presenting a very nice video anyway. Thanks for the video and take care JR ! The Japanese food looked really good BTW.

Got i another card just for that reason.... Was down to one card for several years until the same thing happened and i was in Thailand without a card in 2020! Does your daughter have your card yet? Or did you get it yet. You can have her overnight it to my house if she's got it, I'm heading back this weekend. I can bring it to you guys. (I won't use it too much 😅😅😅)

Sorry to hear about the financial problems. I asked my brother in law for a reference to a good investment bank in the PI, he laughed, and laughed, like that was the funniest thing he ever heard. Being at Clark I had access to my Alaska FCU and money exchangers off base. The only inconvenience was having to wait for "the eagle to shit". MWR trips were like traveling in a one bus battalion strength convoy . . . you were practically bullet proof, financially speaking. Looks like plenty of back up is still a big player.Great video JR, this is exactly what people need to hear when they leave their neighborhood.

It sucks having your card whacked. I personally have 6 credit cards only for the reason of travel. With the added reason that it totally sucks to have your card cancelled or locked out while traveling. Interesting about agoda I used to use them I will be more careful about using them in the future

Sir JR,sorry to hear your CC problem. My card was used in PI by someone illegal means but my credit union caught it, not paying the suspect. it took me 3 week and the hassle of getting it here in PI. even if Fedex or DHL ship it it still takes about a week.. good luck on your card..ed
