      100% man
      I’ve owned 38 Japanese imports
      I used to buy one
      Take all the aftermarket parts off buy new or used own parts clean the car up drive it for a month or 2 then sell it for either a very small profit or exactly what it owed me
      And then buy something else and start again, it was fun for me I didn’t want to make money off it I was just happy to own a different car every 3 months and send it out cleaner than when I got it
      Now nones selling anything
      It’s like a game of musical chairs where everyone has sat down years ago and I’m still standing with no chair to sit on

    • @biohazard5ful
      @biohazard5ful 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Teach-u7t most of the stuff came from the dealer in Japan. You just need the title and a translated certified copy of it, then all your import documents, a couple of pictures of the car, a verification of the vin plate by holding a piece of paper over it and shading it with pencil. And some forms the dmv makes you fill out plus the state tax on the value of the car. Then you just wait. I did all that pre covid and it still took almost 5 month for then to send me the NJ title of the car

    Those younger car enthusiasts shouldn’t be mad at the Americans willing to pay for the parts. They should be mad at the car companies that restricted the sale of those cars to only japan. It’s been 25 years and I’ll be grateful for what I have but I don’t wanna hear any hate from Japan that others are willing to pay more because Nissan decided 25 years ago to not sell and r34 to the US. Blame the companies not the people willing to pay

    • @dohc1974
      @dohc1974 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have no idea what you’re talking. The car companies aren’t the ones who restricted the sale to other Countries. It’s Mercedes Benz who lobbied for this rule because it was hurting their sales in North America. In the past, people that knew they could buy a new Benz from Germany and ship it to America for thousands of dollars less, literally did that. Benz didn’t like that and they lobbied for it and the us government change the rule to 25 years. Another reason was the US standards for EPA.

      I think he's speaking more to the fact that Nissan and such had a hit car on their hands (Such as a Silvia or Skyline) but never sold it in the US to begin with as they did with the "Fairlady Z" or the "Bluebird."

    In 2005, I was able to get my EF8 for $2600 Cdn in Japan. Landed price with taxes was $7500 Canadian. Lots of small fees but the whole thing was totally worth it. That price doesn't include the Out of Province inspection or registration, which was about another $200 or so.

    I have a serious question, once I get an R34 2.5 GT imported in the U.S. after it's 25 years old, do you know what the procedures are once the car arrives at the port? Examples, is there any fees you have to pay to get the car released to you? And should you get it registered and insured before picking it up? I can't find any videos or info on it. Just the same stuff.

    Hey Sammit Americans don’t want the prices to go up. I’m sure some is supply and demand but for the most part it’s called greed. The Japanese raise prices on their own. You see all the car lots out in the country that don’t sell to Americans, their prices are not so bad. So America did not cause this. We don’t want prices to rise. I lived in japan for three years. So I feel your pain. But there are options. If you want cheap parts don’t shop near Tokyo. Go out in the country where they don’t have the means to ship to the US. Yeah you may have to travel a bit but if the price is right. I like your videos.

    So if all the supras, skylines, 180s and ect get too expensive, what will be the next cheap drift cars? I heard it will be the 86s and 350z, What u think?

    • @SAMMIT
      @SAMMIT  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a tragedy that 2 people lost their lives at Queensland Raceway. (Wasn't Willowbank, Willobank is the drag strip. QR is the circuit track behind the drag strip. Lots of media outlets have been reporting it incorrectly) From the information that has come out, seems like there was an issue with his brakes & throttle getting stuck. In all honesty I think it's an example of how the thing we all love & are involved in can go so wrong so fast & why it's important to make sure every safety precaution is made! As for future cheap drift cars. Probable E36's, 86's & 350Z's are where it's all going to end up. Fingers crossed that car manufactures make more RWD cars!

    It's not on me being a "doucebag" Japanese car companies refused to sell these cars to certain countries and couldn't be arsed to make them legal for that country and still to this day do it, like the Toyota 70 Series it's the number one most wanted car in Europe but Toyota refuse. And when you are pushing Nissan Micra's & Toyota Corolla's and never have have the good stuff in you won't sell them will you. Kia don't have a stinger at the dealers, Hyundai i30N is not at the dealer, Toyota GT86 is not at the dealer, Nissan don't have Skylines or GTR's in the dealer. So no one is to blame but Japan and it's car companies they want exclusivety and they are doing it with the new Supra. They should be aiming to have the most amount of people driving one.

      The 70 Series in Europe.... LOL it wouldn't pass emissions and Kia and Hyundai are Korean not Japanese.

    aint in a smart idea to go to your local car scrap yard and buy the rusted out chassis because they are getting rare and the price is going up? i mean buy em now and store em bone dry for another 10 years and then restore em? just like the engines? they say oil is running out but we use so mutch of the stuff that it already sould be gone. al lthings that died 60 bilion years ago to turn into our oil maybe running out but what about thier offspring they turn in to oil also and so on and so on. so oil almost cant run out

      Yep if you can get a damaged and rusted out GTR with matching numbers for a few grand. That's worth keeping in Japan storage for 10 more years. Afterwards, get it in a container and imported legally. Once here order basically every new part available and rebuild the entire car. You should be making 100k-150k.

      As for storage of cars in Japan. Extremely expensive.

    Stop fucking complaining about market pricing, it goes for everyone! What the fuck is the alternative?! More stupid regulation? No, right. Like all things in life, it's pay to play. Ask yourself why you want the same car as everyone else, is there more to it? Maybe look for something else, equally interesting.
