About Subnautica:
Subnautica is an open world survival game in development by Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
Subnautica allows the player to explore an aquatic alien planet by scuba diving and traveling in ,while collecting resources and food to survive. It was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014.
The Xbox release was in August 2016.The player controls in first-person view the lone survivor of a crashed ship on an aquatic planet.
The main objective of the player is to explore the open world environment and survive the dangers of the planet, while also continuing the story.
Subnautica allows the player to collect resources, construct tools, bases, and submersibles, and interact with the planet's wildlife.
Players must keep themselves adequately hydrated and fed, and must also maintain their oxygen supply while traversing underwater.
They discover remnants of the Precursors, an ancient alien species, that used to live on the planet, massive structures and receive mysterious signals by a strange entity.
The development team opted to use the Unity engine rather than Spark, the engine used for the company's previous game, Natural Selection 2.
Subnautica producer Hugh Jeremy justified this decision because of the different demands that the game places on the engine,and "because [the team] does not include people working on Spark, it's not appropriate for Subnautica to use Spark.
By using Unity for Subnautica, Spark can continue to develop in certain directions, while Subnautica develops in others. To use Spark for Subnautica would be to try and square peg a round hole.

If you read, The Sirahwesi Leviathon is nearly blind, and detects you through electricity so it will only attack if you use a submarine or seaglide. I dont think it needs a special ability due to its speed, and the artist already thought of a lore based way to avoid the creature.
Head Bashing sounds like it would makes sense to me due to the power of it noggin

I honestly would call it blind light if it was blind and as you could see it has a light on it’s head and it shoots lightning and lightning makes light so it works

Second one should be named the "Voidlamp Leviathan". Fourth could be the "Sea Wraith Leviathan".

Yeah, why the heck hasnt subnautica got angler fish type creatures? They are the absolute most monstrous and terrifying things to be lurking in the shadowy depths
Isn't that pretty much how the shadow leviathan hunts? Glowing belly-mouth to attract featherfish who mistake the glow for luminous plankton?
the second one 7:29 could be called the snap jaw leviathan (from its resemblance to the alligator snapping turtle.) the Halloween leviathan could be called nox(Latin for night) leviathan. because of its nocturnal nature and its dark colour.
eehhh, It's a lot mire simular to a angler fish both with the lure and the head shape.
I’m gonna try to come up with a databank entry for the second concept. I’ll keep adding to this in seperate edits. The main thing I thought of when seeing it is that is would act as a pseudo-replacement for the adult Ghost Leviathan, and would reside in the Void.
*Angler Leviathan*
The Angler Leviathan is one of the largest and most unsettling creatures on 4546B, residing at the very edges of the crater that sustains life on this part of the planet. The scanned specimen measured 110m in length.
*1. Bioluminescence*
Similar to an anglerfish, this species uses a bioluminescent lure on its head to attract prey. It can also illuminate the rest of its body if it so wishes.
*2. Electrical Properties*
The Angler Leviathan possesses electrical properties, and is able to spew a blast of electricity from its mouth. This blast is able to short out most electricity-powered vehicles and tools. These electric abilities suggest a relation to the Ampeel.
*3. Tentacles*
This creature possesses at least 10 tentacles that it uses primarily for locomotion. If a large enough creature is either provoking it or is considered prey, it will use its tentacles to ensnare the creature.
*4. Behaviour and Hunting*
This species is usually relatively docile, but will become extremely hostile if provoked. It hunts many larger creatures that reside around the crater edge, and are known to hunt and kill juvenile Ghost Leviathans coming to the crater edge from the Lost River. They are large enough to hold their own against even an adult Ghost Leviathan, though confrontations like this are rare.
Assessment - Extreme danger, avoid in all circumstances

Ironhead leviathan: as Aci said, it is really fast and it can sprint for a long time. So I came up with an solution, it would make a sound wave, something like a bat, around him to a certain distance and the player would have a chance to escape before the leviathan began to chase him.
If they are making another subnautica game, I hope the makers watch these videos to get some ideas. And hopefully it would as suspenseful as the first game.

I just wanted to say that I think it's really cool that you're doing this.
Spending money for creature concepts really demonstrates how passionate you are about the game. It also potentially gets more people involved in the community and showcases their creativity, which is always cool.
As for ideas:
The first one:
Name: Strangler leviathan.
Abilities:
(I know that it was the idea for last session, but camouflage might be a good idea for this one, too, to help it ambush prey like a conventional octopus)
Uses tentacles to to ensnare prey and slowly draw it towards its mouth.
Escape is possible, but requires dislodging or pulling away from tentacles.
Player may use repulsion cannon to try to escape by blasting themselves away from the leviathan, using the propulsion cannon to grab and blast individual tentacles away until free, or using the dive knife/thermoblade to attack individual tentacles to get them to let go, all the while swimming against the pull of the tentacles to avoid being drawn in.
Smaller, lighter vehicles like the seamoth have more trouble pulling away. Seamoth perimeter defense system or cyclops shield + ahead flank could help escape. (tbh, ahead flank doesn't get much use in game, so it would be nice for it to have a purpose)
Escape would involve a potentially fatal game of tug-of-war.
Second one:
Name: Angler leviathan or Fulgur (lightning) leviathan.
Abilities: already listed.
Third one:
Already named: Iron Head leviathan
Abilities:
Uses extreme speed to ram and stun/disorient prey, prior to going in for a killing bite.
It would attempt to ram and flip vehicles, making it difficult for the player to regain their bearings and escape/retaliate.
Given its extreme speed, it would likely ambush unsuspecting players, damaging their vehicles and making escape incredibly difficult.
Fourth one:
Name: Reefkiller leviathan
Abilities: already listed.
Last one:
Name: "Cloak leviathan" works. Makes me think of the "flame cloak" spell from Skyrim.
However, given its glow and use of heat to cook ensnared prey, I would suggest "Mantle leviathan" or "lantern mantle leviathan".
A mantle is another name for a cloak, as well as the part on old propane lanterns that burns and produces light, so that might be a fun double meaning, given its characteristics.
Honestly, I probably like the design of the pink one the least, but I see quite a bit of terrifying potential in all of them, thinking about how their behavior might be implemented and make for more interesting mechanics.
My biggest complaint about subnautica has always been that there were really only 2 hostile leviathans on the surface and the lack of variety was somewhat disappointing, so having more variety introduced would add considerably to the horror.
I love this series so much. What an awesome way to not only get cool concept art to talk about, but support artists too! Monetary support AND exposure is the absolute best an artist could ask for. Seeing these artists realize their worth and raising prices is also fantastic :D They deserve it!
The last leviathan could have the name the wraith leviathan as it uses darkness to remain hidden until it can attack.
Or the hellwraith leviathan

For the big one that shoots lighting I’m thinking of the name of the depth leviathan and you would find it in a new biome known as the depths which is a area bellow the magma zones that connects to the void and is mostly cave filled but has one large cave which is the layer of the depth leviathan and killing it starts a animation which reveals a lab and inside gets you the blue print for a recipe for the ability to upgrade your ships and weapons
The cloak leviathan adult would be cool to see deeper in the void like closer to the lava zone while juveniles could be in the lava zone. Maybe there's holes or small hidden caves (maybe covered by lava that the player cant swim through) that they swim through to the void 🤷♀️

That first one looks like it might be completely boneless, like an octopus. Which means it could be good at slipping into small spaces, pursuing you into the chasms and caves which normally would be sufficient shelter from leviathan attacks.
I usual don’t really watch aci’s streams but I can tell that most of his streams are great keep up the good work aci
The Cloak leviathan seems to have a focus on luminescence and reminds me a lot of a light meant to lead victims into a dark, dangerous, more removed area. As such if considering renaming I would like to propose it be called the "Wisp" Leviathan, named after the Will-O-Wisps.
The Ironhead could use its hard skull and high speed to ram into other leviathans (or cyclops). The prey is stunned by the attack and can be taken out by strong bites
Dude, make more of these videos! we love seeing what the artists do. That one about the reef back is scary as. Imagine hearing a strange deep screaming sound and following it only to see a reef back jerking around at speeds never seen before with that ray thing eating it alive. Seriously visualise that...let it haunt you!
Also that one by trix is very cool. eating other predators by attracting prey and cooking them alive. imagine if you saw these strange lumps in the sand during the day but they moved every time at night. Scanning them during the day reveals nothing (might be going to far there) but when you become brave/or hungry enough to go out at night...you notice what looks like movement in the distance but it's too dark to tell, and just a large cloud of sand. your torch cuts through the darkness but still can't see much beyond some form of movement. Then you notice a lot of peepers swimming after a strange light. you shine your torch there and notice a familiar shape that you just can't place. the light stops moving and the peepers, now see you and move away. you try to focus on the light, trying to make out what type of animal it is. Then you feel something against your leg and look down. Tentacles have slowly wrapped around your limbs and you only now notice, you try to pull away. Thats when you notice how warm it has become and you see a flash of light before you are wrapped up in what feels like an oven.
Maybe next time you could do passive/helpful creatures.

for the one at 7:58, the void splitter, it uses the electric beam to split the hydrogen from the oxygen, superheating the water until it boils the prey. at that point the prey bursts from the internal organs rupturing. another thing could be that when it is shocked by the perimeter defence system is makes the charge time for the electric beam shorter by 5-10%.

The iron head has its speed and it ability to go after you for a while to its advantage. The unfinished concept is neat in that reefbacks seem like such a difficult thing to go after and anything that would would have to be a double bad guy for it! You can also tell they put a lot of thought into it like finding one creature that seems to have no natural enemies and then this is a parasite to it and even explaining why its a threat to you as it confuses you with a reefie Just amazing

Angle Leviathan
A giant leviathan class creature reaching up to sizes of a Sea dragon Leviathan.
This leviathan when in contact with a creature under their size shall let out an electrical charge
out of their mouth. It will use its Esca to lure tiny prey or smaller leviathans to eat.
This leviathan is only found in the grand reef yet more research is required

7:10 Angler Leviathan.
The Angler Leviathan lives in the blood kelp forests, specifically at the entrance to a cave system, eating the larger creatures there, and will ivestigate the players vehicles by attempting to "taste test" them. As a defence, if severely damaged, or encountered by the cyclops, it will create a high powered flash of electricity, wich will seriously damage your cyclops, but full health, will not destroy it, and will act as an emp that last for up to a minute. This means you cant repair your cyclops during that minute. For the seamoth and prawn suit, it will just swallow them.
The Manteback, a close evolution descendant of the reefback, it uses its giant mouth to grab up mostly algae but may sometimes eat peepers by accident because of the large suction force when it inhails, most small, some can become very large, are prey to Reapers and warpers due to the high infection rate they have, life time of around 300 years for it to reach the end of its life, and it's Peacefull. Also eats reefbacks and hides in sand.
An idea for the cloak leviathan, it could grab you with its tentacles and bite you, and when you are low it pulls you in and burns you
Something neat for the Cloak Leviathan I thought of:
If the player themself gets near it, the Cloak Leviathan will leave them alone, and maybe even playfully swim around them.
When in the Seamoth or P.R.A.W.N., maybe it'll follow you due to your speed and mistaking you for a fish.
In the Cyclops, however, it'll attack you, and with its main means of attack being to heat up, maybe it has a massively increased chance to set your Cyclops on fire.

As someone with a background in Marine Biology it so much to pick apart all the accidental and maybe intentionally genius bits of real taxonomy in these animals!
I imagine that the last one (halloween) would live in the lava zone, hiding on the walls with its glowing side hidden, then would drop off the wall to wrap around its prey. I think it should be called the magma manta leviathan.
Crazy poisonous spit for the third Leviathan that you've shown us because the large purple thing in the back of its throat kind of looks like the throat pouch for a Pacific rim monster

2. Dash and Slice: Players Vehicle gets hit by the Backplate, which deals massive damage to it or even splits it in half.
3. Aftermath of Point No. 1:
Player gets swallowed whole in the depths, whilst hearing ominous sounds from the Leviathan.
I think the last one is awesome
12:11 Idea for the Halloween leviathan. The tips of its tentacles look kinda like a mesmer and I was thinking that it might have the ability to attract those schools of fish and even the player!

the last one could be called the revenant leviathan. not only because it looks creepy but in mythology a revenant is an undead spirit fueled by revenge, similar to how it hunts predators and comes out at night.
6:12 Pink Jelly Leviathan.
The Pink Jelly Leviathan is a large creature that exists in the floating islands biome. It attaches to the bottom, using gasses in its body to keep its weight from sinking the island. It uses it bright pink coloring to camaflouge, mimicing an ancient floater. The leviathan is blind, but the tendrils on its head detect water movement and vibrations from over 200 meters away, with pin point accuracy. It considers humans, the seamoth, and the prawn suit as prey, and the cyclops is treated as a threat. It will wrap the four tenticles at the front of its body around its prey, and remove a long proboscis from its mouth, using the pointed end to stab the victim and inject a digestive enzyme that turns the prey into a soup, wich it then sucks through the proboscis like a straw. For threats, it does the same thing, but it crushes them instead.
Do more of this bro. Even if it cost you we'll support you. Love these videos

Concept 1) *Constrictor Leviathan*
Wraps it's tendrils around prey and constructs them to death. It eats them whole afterwards.
Concept 2) *Angler Leviathan*
Same bio as with the concept.
Concept 4) *Vampire Leviathan*
Can't think of a better name atm.

For the first one, it could use its tentacles to grab the seamoth or truck and put it on the dark pink part that looks like a cape on its back, which could break down the seamoth
11:00 i love this design and concept. Despite having the Halloween colors, it could fit very well.
The Sirashewi is difeitively my favorite of the bunch the one whose genral anatomy and capacities feel Subnautica the best.
I have an idea: a sandworm like leviathan that usually hides in sand dunes or between rocks. It likes to collect small rocks(especially minerals) using its long neck. Its head is usually wrapped around fully by its 5 mandibles with a eye on each(looks like a giant flower bud.) When it sees a prey, it opens it's mandible and shows some of the shinning mineral to attract prey(mainly bone sharks since they easily get distracted by lights) or reckless player who's searching for minerals(you can get them if you use propulsion cannon from distance). Once the prey had touched its minerals or in the attack range, it reaches out and bites into the prey with its head/mouth like crabsnake's , retracts it's head/mouth, and closes it's mandibles to grab the tail of the prey, and spin it's neck like a crocodile killing. This can break most armors. Since it's a camper, you need to scan it's head/mouth.
Edit: I forgot to say, it's neck is biolominescence, so the minerals can shine more brightly
That's longer than i expected
for the 8:12 one maybe it could charge the purple crystal-like part and send a shock down its body which gets rid of the effect of the stasis rifle. I think it'd be quite interesting seeing as that's how most players deal with leviathans :D
10:36 The phantom Cloak Leviathan. This leviathan could probably do well in the blood kelp biome, sleeping in nearby caves. And, if it grabs you theres 2 things you can do before you die. One, use a survival knife or thermoblade. 2, use the propulsion cannon to throw a blood oil pustule at it. Despite living in the the blood kelp biome, nearly all of them have a reaction to the blood oil. The oil will cause severe chemical burns to its skin, and cause full thicness burns in a mater of minutes. This will cause it to screech and retreat.

Great job by that last artist with The Cloak Leviathan and The Angler Leviathan that reminded me of an angler fish
The first Leviathan's name could be Coral Leviathan. It could disguise itself as a pink coral and then suddenly grab the player with its tentacles, pulling it into its mouth. It would be a shock in such a safe area.
Iron head would be completely invincible where the "iron" is and maybe block attacks by moving its head. But in return, it doesn't have a lot of HP.
I just feel like it's a no brainer for it's ability to defend itself itself by ramming into the player
Love the concept behind the reefback parasite
I see the clock Leviathan as a passive aggressive creature, having any small fish you can grab following its little light it is passive but if the player takes one of them it becomes extremely aggressive
1- Trawler leviathan (like a sea trawler fishing boat) it drags its tentacles through the ocean as it swims, and they will automatically ensnare any suitably sized creatures like a carnivorous Sundew Plant by sticking to them. When it is satisfied with the size of its catch, it eats them off its tentacles.
2- Biolure/Conduit Leviathan. It uses its lights to hypnotize and lure in prey with a very special string of flashes, and once their target is close enough, or if it tries to flee, it fires a laser of bio-electricity, conducted through the surrounding water by a condensed jet of specialized chemicals from its stomach.
4- Remora Leviathan. (named after its similar but more parasitic abilities to a Remora fish)
The angler fish-looking one could be called the glow shark, or maybe the lightbulb shark. I think the shark name fits it well!
And the pink one could be the snapper.
Comment for the algorithm. I love seeing these concepts!
The pink thing should be called the Blink Squid. It’s whole body would flash every once in a awhile during the night.
cloaker leviathan already sounds great but i think something like "wrapper leviathan" or "heater leviathan" would be pretty good
A bit late to the party, but i've always thought the creepiest leviathan would be some cross between sea snakes and a giant amebae. Imagine a large, black patch in the middle of the sandy bottom. As you drive your sea moth over it tendrils reach out and snag your vehicle slowly pulling it down into this slime-like ogranism. It will then attempt to surround and crush the vehicle with it's digestive enzymes. I'm imagining smaller versions in caves and then, you at one point discover a massive one that's large enough to try and grab your cyclops if you are too close. (maybe put a lifepod with loot on a floating platform in the middle of it, tempting players to take the risk).
That reefback eater one is actually the best by far.

I think the last concept should be called the harbinger since it protects smaller fish by putting them in danger to lure in predators and harbinger is an evil name but it also means bringer/protector so it kinda has the best of both worlds.
All of them is such an interesting concept, kudos to the artist.

Super late, but i feel like the 'Cloak' leviathan should hunt and live in packs and live in underwater caves. Kinda like bats.
1: homboldt leviathan
2: angler leviathan
3: stealth; making it blend in with the void but still a little purple, so you can see it like say ark's rock drake, but if you're not paying attention, a heart attack is garuntee.
4: the parasite leviathan
5: phantom leviathan
based on the planned name for ghost leviathans.

The first one could be called the "Gelsack Leviathan" and its special ability could be like spitting some sort of sticky slimy fluid that could trap you or your vehicle
Now the second one could be named something like the "Enerfang Leviathan" or the "Glow Fish Leviathan"
And the fourth could be like some aggressive reefback but i really cant come up with a name for it
This is a really fun series
i can imagen the cloak leviathan working like the reefback leviathan attacking a cyclops where it would stay under the sand at day but as time passes and it gets closer to night the sand starts to reveal it, and as soon as its officially night it swims out making a sand cloud and will try to hid in the dark, and will randomly change positions. if it or the player get close together it grabs on, with the tiny tentacles and cooks you to death, and your last sight is your body burnt and you being shoved into its mouth where teeth crush you, but if you are over (idk) 70 health you have a 20 percent chance top wiggle your way out. if you are in the seamoth, same thing but it will just cook to destruction. if in the prawn suit it will swim over head and just lay on you cooking/crushing you, with no chance of escape. if in the cyclops it will spring out and rap itself under the sub leaving only the player hatch left open. however the day and night cycle would need to last longer and it would need to be obvious. 1 would live near the bottom of the floating islands biome, 1 or 2 would live under the big floating island, a whole bunch in the dunes, maybe a baby one would live in the grassy plateaus which practically is still scary but not worth hiding from. idk its late im bored this was my 3am brain comment
the last leviathan concept is in my opinion, by far the best. I think that this leviathan should be passive towards the player, and it even may serve as a mount, at least until provoked.

I think the first one could have an octopus's ability to change the color/texture of its skin to hide among rocks or caves and surprise the player suddenly. You would just be swimming alone in a cave, and suddenly one of the stalactites from the ceiling grabs you with its tentacles and attacks. Could be terrifying not knowing if it is there or not.

The cloak leviathan is like a giant spikey trap because it grabs you and pulls you in like the spikey trap
I would call the last leviathan of the list, the saruon leviathan.
The name for the electric anglerfish leviathan should be the “Thunderbait” leviathan. “Thunder” because of the electrical abilities, and bait because of it’s anglerfish like nature, using it’s large bioluminescent bulb hanging from it’s forehead to draw in prey.
