Oatmeal Cake with Broiled Icing

Moist delicious old fashioned cake loaded with oatmeal, butter and brown sugar. We making an icing with more butter, brown sugar and coconut and put it under the broiler until light golden brown. This is a perfect winter time cake.
Ingredients
1 cup old fashion oats
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
Icing:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
3 tbls. milk
1 cup coconut flakes
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
