I think that you are one gutsy lady painting so fluidly in front of a camera. Not easy but you make it look easy. Grest video with you and Mr B. So thanking you kindly.
@@ClareBowenArtist Hi Im a painter and I live in Australia but im English. Seeing you and Mr B always makes me feel a tad home sick so ill continue to follow you.
Mr B is such a good hubby. It’s so lovely seeing you both put together these great demonstrations and your lovely interaction together. Very sweet. Well done you two! 😍
Hello Claire, what a magnificent painting once again, full of cheerful colors as I like. It looks like you too, you seem so happy and, as Mr B. says, you are the queen of daffodils! Have a good week, to you and to your husband.
Hello again Claire & Mr. B. Super impressionistic colour of early Spring. A lovely rendition of Daffodils that are sprouting up everywhere and cheerfully brightening the day as the weather begins to get lighter and the days get longer. Once again, I enjoyed watching you wrestle with the colours to get the light and shade elements onto canvas board. It was a real pleasure to watch how you pulled it all together to completion. As always, thank you both for sharing this wonderful workout.🌞👍🖐️
thank you for such an informative and delightfully entertaining video Clare and Mr B. I am taking note of how you hold your brush to make those lovely strokes.
Thank you for preparing, filming, and posting another fantastic demonstration, especially after such a long-haul travel. I wanted to explain that odorless solvents are still breathed in and using them in a space with open windows or in plein air is safer. I understand that there are other options with citrus or lavender odor which helps you detect how much you may be breathing, and you can leave the room, open windows and go out to breath fresh air avoiding breathing too much solvent. They are less "potentially dangerous" than odorless solvents for closed spaces. Just a thought. I get terrible migraines even with odorless solvents if I am in the atelier with closed windows for >2 hours. Loli 🙂
What a great demo! My experience: I believe solvent and/or off-gassing of oxidizing linseed-oil-paint put me in the hospital with TGA (transient global amnesia) - inability to create new memories. I paint solvent-free now and and am replacing paints to those made with walnut oil. I happened upon an internet stranger (oil painter) whom also had a 3-day TGA event that he attributes to linseed intolerance. Mine lasted 6 hours. FWIWorth I use walnut oil to clean my brushes.
Hello Loli, thanks so much for explaining about the Gamsol. I think it’s good to make it clear it’s that it’s not safe but safer than turps. I will be aware. Thanks for watching! Clare 💕
Love watching your demos! New subscriber here, I appreciate the painting tips and the warm and sweet convos you both share. And most of all I admire your paintings, so loose and free!

You and Mr. B are sooo charming! I love watching English tv or videos as I find this is often the case. Thank you for sharing your expertise and Mr. B. for filming! You make it all look easy: the painting and the video making. I find it helpful how you just keep the painting moving and it gradually comes together so beautifully and fresh. I wonder if you keep picking up clean brushes or or you cleaning brushes throughout?
A wonderful video full of advice on your techniques and colour mixing which I find very helpful. The result was a gorgeous painting and I loved the thick brushstrokes and loose marks. Really loved the jug too! I have also been using Gamsol mineral spirit instead of turps because I couldn’t stand the smell of turps and because I suffer from asthma so I was so pleased to discover Gamsol as it is completely odourless. Yay!
Thank you Clare for your generosity. the angle from where you are is slightly different from the camera in some of your videos, I thought id tell you, as I am on my laptop and can type better than on my mobile. Love your banter. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Margo, pleased you enjoy the painting and the banter! We only have an iPhone camera. Ours is not a ‘professional’ outfit where they use several purpose built cameras for video work. We don’t charge for our videos! 📽❤️😊
I loved seeing the daffodils come to life. Beautiful! On a practical note I wondered what you do with all the unused paint on your palette? I use acrylics but am just trying oils and I don’t like wasting my paints.
Wonderful demonstration! A great spring subject to brighten a cold below zero day in upstate NY. Do you use Rosemary and Co. brushes? Thanks for the touch of Spring.
love this video! so beautiful! What is the palette you are using? Is it from the prolific painter as well? I love having my palette upright so as to have the same light as my canvas. I use two easels which is a bit cumbersome!
(If I were she, I would put my palette (covered) in a fridge for later use...) It is a joy to watch her demos! Inspiring artist with humble and lovely personality.
Not a ‘bad’ question 😊Normally the paint would be sitting in my Palette Garage, obtainable from Great Art Tools USA, a sealable tube, which can easily store leftovers until next required. But as the palette this time was upright, to help focus on the mixing, I will need to remove the surplus paint to the Palette Garage for safe keeping.
Beautiful work, seeing your palette adds a lot. excellent video. PS: his videos have the sound of his voice coming out of only one of the speakers, it's annoying for those of us who use headphones. I'm just commenting on it, your videos are excellent and I enjoy them a lot.
