His solo version of “Overkill” is amazing......he’s out on tour now with his band and with Ringo. He’s funny, a great story teller and talented. He was in an episode of Scrubs......very funny....go see him if you can.....
Great take. I think you are more of an optimist than I am. I hear a man watching his life pass by waiting for something better while his girl is telling him, "look at what you have now, just be with me, let in the light so you can see what we have here instead of waiting for something that may not exist."
Oh my gosh that song is a beauty, truly. Another that tugs on the heart strings -- Waiting in the Rain - is a keeper. Wistful look back after the passing of his father/mother. Colin Hay has a gift for soulful melancholy.
"I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You," "Beautiful World," "Overkill" acoustic. "Don't Wait Up. He's got multiple versions/arraignments of a lot of these tunes, acoustic ones are usually best.
React to "Overkill" Acoustic version, it's really good. Also check out his band Men At Work with "It's A Mistake", "Down Under", and "Who Can It Be Now?" are their most famous singles.
I see him live about 10 years ago. After the show he was signing CDs. I asked him if the song was a true story and he told me the girl was real but the story was made up. It was funny because he told me he doesn't want to tell me the truth because it might ruin it for me, but then he told me anyways. Such a cool guy. Use this song in my wedding when my wife walked down the aisle
my humble opinion....best song ever written... depending on my mood.. it's a 'hopeful for a brighter future' song.. or a 'you're waiting for life to happen as it passes by" type song... just perfect
Think you may have got it right about him being a man with a dream he’s still chasing. He hit the heights of super stardom back in the 80’s with Men At Work, and then just like that it was over and he’s doing solo gigs and “remember when” tours. Love this song! Great reaction choice!
Colin's solo gigs SOAR. Tailored for maybe a more discerning crowd that prefers the genuine article not a copy - but oh the love is shared. Never was a man so happy sharing his music to those wanting to listen. The documentary on him with this same title is a GEM.
He is actually being sarcastic. With "Men at work" he was playing to stadiums and then there was nothing. His record co. dropped them. "I woke up today and suddenly nothing happened. . ." He already had his time in the spotlight. "any minute now my ship is coming in . . ." Waiting for my real life to begin. . . is his life over? He does a live version in 'the Basement' in Sydney in 2012. He explains the song and he is a very funny and engaging guy. You should really check it out.
india for me and i suppose thousands of us waiting on transplants to save our lives, this song stands for that wait, waiting for our real lives to begin
One more like before watch! Eu simplesmente amo "as caras e bocas" dessa moça! Ela é super expressiva! Ahh! did you not understand? Google translate guys!
That man, is at work.

I like that one and "It's a Mistake"
His comeback in a way was due to the song in the movie Garden State....”I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You”. I think that’s the title.
Definitely a must see show...Master entertainer!
Colin is one of those performers that has gotten better with age more soulfulness to his voice.

Every time. I cry every time I hear this song.

This is quite possibly the best Colin has ever done on this song. But it's all good. Can't go wrong with anything he sings!
"I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You," "Beautiful World," "Overkill" acoustic. "Don't Wait Up. He's got multiple versions/arraignments of a lot of these tunes, acoustic ones are usually best.

Love some Colin Hay, he always brings the chills. Listen to Maggie but have some Kleenex handy, that one hits your soul hard.

As it passed by. The older I get the harder it hits.
Loved your reaction! You obviously feel the music, it's great to see.
React to Colin Hay's "I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You".
Brilliant soulful voice.
This song hurts for those of us in Hollywood who made it and lost it. It's our song.

Love that guy.
Indi. I love that you reviewed Colin
I'd love to see you take a look at his songs with Men At Work too - Down Under & Who Can it be Now are both great tunes
He was in a very famous band in the 80’s . label drop them woke up and no future. So he is starting again..
I discovered this song from the tv show Scrubs. I knew the voice though from Men At Work.

I can't see a comment pointing out that he's Sia's uncle. So: this guy is Sia's uncle.
Not officially...but in every other way. There 's a clip of him accepting an award and Sia surprises him - the sweetest joy between them both.
Men at Work - Overkill (original)
India, great song! Love this. Please check out Darrell Scott Uncle Lloyd.
