Hello!
I'm a DJ from Madrid, (Spain) who loves electronic music in all its variations. I've been playing for many years with different techniques, I started with vinyl and now I'm getting into the digital world and all the possibilities it offers.
At this moment my equipment is composed of three modular controllers from Native Instruments. The Kontrol F1, X1 and Z1. The Remix Deck I use for my Kontrol F1 is a own creation taking sounds from different music production libraries like 99 Sounds or Vengeance, besides adding sounds from Native Instruments free libraries and loops made directly in Ableton Live.
Currently my music is focused on Techno, with sounds from melodic to more powerful or dark. Every day I'm looking for the sound that represents me and I think I'm getting it.

Im looking for a controller/ set of controllers, to in the future use as a deck at home with a pais of turntables, and to use on the go on small events. Since i have a samll appartment, this setup looks nice.
Maybe i need a Audio 2 Dj interface to external te output to a master soundsystem?

Traktor beats Serato & Rekordbox by far , VDJ needs to catch up , lots an lots of respect for Traktor , rock , metal , pop , hip hop , they all use Traktor , guitars , drums , voice overs , reloops etc
In my opinion Serato and Rekordbox are great for playing tracks one after another regardless of genre. Traktor on the other hand is teh perfect tool for DJs that are wanting to do more than just playing tracks. Its ability to control loops, samples ( especially with the remix decks ), stems is far superior to anything else out there. It was also the first to use DVS ( Final Scratch ) and in overall it heavily leans towards electronic music DJs and Producers who are using Ableton/Machine as well as Traktor.
Like Liebing's setup. Its pretty straight forward but it has so much depth and endless possibilities.

So here i am.. theorising a new setup because the traktor s4 is such a hassle..
And i come up with something.. and i find your set and you use basically what i was going to get.. nice!!

My idea is to have 2 track decks and use the f1 kind of like a drum machine with my own favourite patterns to mix in..
Maybe could even use it to play my own tracks as stems on the f1..
Only thing im worried about is losing the ability to play 4 songs at the same time..

Look into the new step sequencer function in later updates of Traktor. Might be just what your thinking. It's for the D2, but there is mappings for the F1!
I am runing a Traktor s4 and k2 from A & H similar functionality except the fx are nicer grouped like this.

Just got back in to it about 2 months ago with s4 mk3 .
Wow what piece kit , to be honest just been trying break stuff down get some to everything .
Got head round everything except the loop/remix section .
Question is am looking at picking up either 2x f1 kontrols or a x1 and a f1
What would you go for.
Both be getting hooked up to the s4 mk3 ?
Hi! I think that the x1 + f1 kontrols is the best choice. With this config u can control 4 decks and 4 effects with the s4 and the x1, and with the F1 u can add some sounds / shots / loops to your mixes. Definetly I would go for the X1 + F1 setup

great video! I have a similar setup with a 4 channels mixer instead of the z1 but I want a smaller setup for gigs. If you are using the z1 as the soundcard (2 channels), how are you able to also play the remix deck with the F1? Since for the remix deck I have a separate channel on my mixer

Nice work! Man, do you use some usb hub to connect the equipments? Because I have the same setting problems for use all equipments once my PC just have 2 USB ports and my usb hub don't give enough power to them...

@@Biorc_techno échale un ojo porque es una buena opción hay material gratis y si te interesa tiene varios planes rollo Spotify para ir comprando sonidos, el software de la pagina está bien porq te permite ir montando hasta 8 pistas y puede venir bien para hacer luego el Remix deck, me haré con un F1 definitivamente espero poder sacarle partido y divertirme con el!
Hey , great set! I have a question. I like your set up but something which gives me a hesitation on buying it is the fact that you cannot add effects to your remix deck controlled by your F1. If you change the X1 Mk2 to a xone: k2 will you be able to map the remix deck on it in order to add effects to each sample you are using on the F1?
You can actually use all the traktor FX on the F1 and remix decks. You can also choose which column has effects or not by pressing shift and clicking the third row on and off depending on which column you want to use effects on.
@@colinfontaine2935 Yeah but from what im reading in all his videos with this setup its not possible as you control your 2 decks with the X1 and thats where you have FX control. You do not need a 3rd channel in order to that with the F1 as well ?
@@stanislavkolev4390 I have an S4 MK3 and use the F1 as well with a remix deck. So yeah 4 channels. I have audio tracks on channels 1&2 and then a remix deck on channel 3 or 4. If I'm understanding you correctly, you want the traktor FX to work on your third channel? If so you should be able to do it in this set up with 2 FX banks active and manipulate channel 3 with the X1 FX mapping. You could also select the option of 4 FX banks if you wanted a dedicated FX bank for the F1 independent of your other channels.
Hey man, love from india, this is an amazing set, I use the F1 and X1 and I wanted to know what effects you use to get such sounds, I've been trying all the effects on the x1 but I don't get the same output as yours, any tips on the effects would be much appreciated,thankyou.
Hi!
U have to put the fx in single mode (one effect in each slot) and then select Reverb T3 and Tape Delay. Put the 2nd and the 3rd knob of your x1 to the right and just play with the 1st and the 4th knobs.

esqudero Hola! Gracias por el comentario. La cámara que utilizo es la del iPhone 11 y registro el sonido aparte con Traktor, luego edito en Premiere y le añado al vídeo el audio de Traktor.

Hello. Nice set ;) I'd like to ask you, what do you use to shift tracks? For phase issues and bpm match? Normally you'd use jog wheel, but here? And also, what software?
Chester Dorn here the tracks are sync because I add some sounds from the F1 controller and its necessary. When there are phasing problems I solve them with the tactile band in the X1 controller.
@@Biorc_techno Thats nice. I find this setup simple and effective for Techno and are about to maybe buy one for myself. Do you use Traktor software or Ableton?
@@chesterdorn4439 I use Traktor, I think is the best option for this set up, not necessary mapping or something to play, just plug and play.

Hi, idk bro. I play with the Z1 as mixer. The Z1 is an audio interface.
It 's possible, you'll actually just be limited by the two output channels of the A6 if you're mixing on a analog table

I have spent ages looking for examples of how to hear the F1 through the headphones in the x1. Do you need to press cue on the x1 and then on the F1. If you wanted to could you hear the 4 channels on the F1 and deck a and b through the headphones at the same time? Sorry for the long question, just out of options to research this. Thank so much.
@@RalexNSW Think as this modular controllers like completely independent each other. U need to press cue buttons in Kontrol Z1 to hear decks A or B through your headphones, and independently, in the F1 u have to press Shift button and then select wich column wants to hear through your headphones. And thats all mate :)

Because you have 3 channels running but mixer is with only 2 channels.
I have Xone 23c , X1 and F1 , but can’t figure out how to make it work because I always close one channel during playing :/

Clap and hi hats . Do you have it like one shot clap put on loop or is it recorded sample and you just trigger it and you have straight claps?
Hi mate.
My setup is so simple. I use my 2channel mixer only for the tracks (Decks A and B as track decks) and the deck C (remix deck) Is controlled by the F1. In Traktor, the main fader of the deck C is always at the top, and I control all the samples volume with the f1 faders that manage each column.
For the second, Its a recorded sample from a loop of claps, then I use one in 1/8 and other in 1/16

@@Biorc_techno So this means you can’t “pre-listen” to the F1, correct? Obviously you know all the samples, but you then adjust the live volume - as you go - on the F1 faders? Cheers

Doo you make your own remix decks / trak packs? Are you able to grab loops live from another deck with F1 and have them seamlessly play along with whats going out the master? Im struggling to do that
I make my own loops/samples for the remix sets, but none of them is a loop from a playing track.
you can just capture a loop from say deck A and copy it to your F1 deck ( i use D). as long as its sync'd up it will play fine. you can do this all live. im going to buy a 2nd F1 so i can use it whilst mixing to create a sample set for the mix session. great being able to say keep a vocal loop going for a few tracks or even bring it back later. keeps a theme going.
