    By the way, I recently went back in with a torque wrench to double check all the bolts and everything was nice and snug. I always recommend going back and checking on your work after a short time!

    Thanks bro for this awesome video . I'll put 1/5 " wheels spacer on my 2006 jeep commander limited 4.7 and I'll see how it's look like . Thanks again

    My 06 Commander, I am installing a 2-inch lift, and also spacers! Do you think 2-inch spacers would stick out too much compared to your 1.5 inch spacers?

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will depend on the offset of the wheels and size of tires you're using. I was on stock wheels and tire size...and I was perfectly flush.

      @John Hammer Right now mine are stock as well! I was going to purchase the Spidertrax with 1.75-inch spacers that would stick out a quarter of an inch compared to what you are saying! That's not too far out! Thank you for letting me know! I would hate to waste money and the tires stick out too much that would look goofy with stock tires! Thanks

    Hey John, it's been about 2 years with those spacers on your Commander... how are they holding up? Any issues? Thanks

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      None whatsoever! Completely pleased with them. I checked the torque when rotating tires and everything has been great. Highly recommended mod.

    How do you like your Commander. Thinking about getting one. What year and motor do you have?

      Jason Buck I have an '07 Overland. About 85,000 miles. 5.7 Hemi. I use it to tow my racecar...trailer weighs about 6,000 pounds loaded. It's a great daily driver, good enough for towing that weight and it looks good doing it!

    Hi John, I have 2008 Jeep Commander same color red, how is your spacer doing are they good or bad? are they doing ok with off road? Thanks

      @JohnHammerMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dante, I don't offroad with it so I can't comment on that. BUT, I've had them on for over 6 months now with no issues at all. I re-torqued the nuts, but none of them had come loose at all. I'm VERY pleased with the mod.

    • @JohnHammerMedia

    just a quick note re-torque the lug nuts after some good distance driving and that includes the lugs on the spacers.

      ZERO rub of any kind, they work perfectly.

      John Hammer thank you. You sold me on them. It's a very beefy look. The one I've been trying to achieve.

    Hi, looks great!! I've got a 5.7 Hemi Commander and want to put on some 265/65/17 onto the stock 17 rims but here they may rub. Does anyone know if i be able to do this if put on spacers? I also head about the issues with extra loads etc putting on spacers, anyone had any issues?

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm still running factory sized tires so no rub issues at all...and I regularly tow my race trailer, about 5,500 pounds, and actually have better stability since putting the spacers on. Just remember to check the torque on them occasionally.

    • @GBC18
      @GBC18 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, thanks JH. Think I'm going to get some 265's (currently running 245s) and will need to checking spacing when jacked up.

    • @cdianclote7160
      @cdianclote7160 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a bit late... but I run 265 70 17 on my Commander with only a 2 inch lift (no spacers, no pinch weld mod, no bolt alteration). I do have a touch of rub at full lock, but nothing to get my panties all bunched up.

    • @bigt5699
      @bigt5699 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you get the 265/70/17 and if so do they rub ? I just had the rough country 2" lift installed and I want to get the 265 which rough country recommends but some say there tires rub

    Do you need deep socket to remove lug nuts I can't get them off off

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      RCtheblackmask I do use deep well impact sockets, they're much easier I think.

    Hello! Where you get the spacers from? How much do you pay for all 4? Great video by the way

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I just picked them up off eBay...they were cheap, under $100. Just remember to re-torque them a couple days later!

    • @brandoperez1313
      @brandoperez1313 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Hammer thanks man, did you chose any specific brand? Cuz I had hear that the ones from eBay could break!
      You truck looks awesome.

    Can use rims wrangler in my commander?

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some of them fit IF you use a 1" spacer. The "Rubicon" wheels are popular with that fitment, but do some test fitting before you commit to it.

      If it's 2007 Jeep Wrangler and after yes they're bolt pattern is 5x127 which is 5x5 the Same as the commander

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct...the difference in certain wheels is the offset. You don't want to rub suspension parts & such!

      John Hammer thank you, I'm wanting to do some rubicon wheels on my 07 commander. Have you done a lift kit ?

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No lift kit and I probably won't because I tow my racecar with this, but I hear it's a pretty straightforward job.

  • @chrisgroves1539
    @chrisgroves1539 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I wouldn't trust an impact on tightening the spacers. Always hand tighten, unless you want them to fall off.

  • @robinlabra8051
    @robinlabra8051 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I started off with a set of spacers on my Commander as well, now I have negative offset wheels without spacers. Makes it a whole lot safer!

    • @JohnHammerMedia
      @JohnHammerMedia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tow with mine and the extra stability is noticeable and appreciated. Wheels will definitely be in the future...that's the best thing about Jeeps; you can customize them in SO many ways.

      Do you have any rubbing issues? I just had rough country 2inch lift installed and I want 265/70/r17 tires but alot of post I see say they have some degree of rubbing

  • @10MinutestoRouletteFortune
    @10MinutestoRouletteFortune 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    well what you WANT to do is torque them to 90 lbs. not with an impact gun, drive it for 50 miles then yes.......re torque the spacers............Play it safe and add some red lock tight to your lugs.
