I'm shopping right now. Something a lot of folks don't consider is the longevity of software support. GoPro is bigger and older, so I expect there will be better software support in say, 5 years. The Insta may drop software support one day, but there would be less of a pool of users to maintain good software. It happened with my Garmin dash cam. Once Garmin stopped updating for new OS updates, it became obsolete. It was a less popular device, so no one made 3rd party software for it.
Believe it or not Insta360 is actually better at this. I mean take the Gopro Max. We have not had an update for that for the last several years and that camera is not that old. Yet an older insta 360 products I’m still getting updates. But this is a very good point!
Insta360 software support is actually great. They've been around a while. I have the original instal360 oneX and when X2 came out, the new features were updated with the software for the oneX as well so they kept the support alive even when new models came out.
Insta360 if You see this please add a micro sd card slot to the Go model. That would be amazing…or at least a companion app that lets you constantly record and have it offload footage to your phone in real time/after it fills up without manually having to do it

Was looking for a replacement and was debating on a 360 since I kostly film my Motorcycle Riding and well after this I can truthfully say I dont want the Goapro 360. Those stitch lines are terrible, the colors are less vibrant and the sound was eh
Nice video but that stitch line on the my 2 GoPro Maxs' never have been an issue. it all depends how you mount and hold the camera. That will determin where that stitch line will be... Thanks
@@JM_Tech What I find odd is also that the line was horizontally? Normally, when I put my camera on a selfie stick, I make sure that one "whole" lens is facing me. That way I know the stitch will be somewhere else, if that makes sense. Anyhow, thanks for the reply.
Hello, ive used gopro for years now it hurts a little to change the company. Just few questions: .) how do they perform in low light .) how do you feel while editing them in a program like adobe premiere, (I think both got the H.265 ??) that would be it so far...
It really depends on which camera you’re talking about for low light because into the 360 has their one RS 1 inch edition, which I will be covering soon. But sorry I cannot help you with the other question because I use Final Cut Pro and they edit amazing in Final Cut Pro!
i have a Gopro Max and owned it for 5 years now, still having issues with the battery and turning it on. sometimes it turns on, sometimes it won't and i have to hard reset it again and again just to make it work. now my Gopro Max just died on it's own and i was wondering if it still working or not cause it's not charging at all. been a Gopro user since hero 3 came out until now but i guess all good things must come to the end and i might buy insta360x3 because of it.
Check the lens guards you were using as I think that is why the max had the problem however the standard Insta 360 lines guards work really well as long as they’re properly installed which they were for this video!
Thought this would be a credible review. I’m looking to swap my GoPro max but not for any of the reasons you’ve mentioned. For those of you who want an honest review, the GoPro quality is incredible, it seems like he deliberately didnt wipe the lenses while recording, the image definitely isn’t clouded and the stitch line isn’t bad at all, you can only see it if you have a very short selfie stick. (Less than 20cm). The app is very easy to use but I will say that the insta tracking feature would be much easier to use. It can take a while for you clips to download from the GoPro app but that’s all to do with network speeds etc. Now for the real bad points; I predominantly use mine for skiing and I appreciate that batteries don’t like cold weather but the battery life on it is terrible I have to carry 2 spare batteries which are $60ish each. The GoPro will sometimes turn it self off randomly after starting to record, which is highly annoying if you have just started whatever activity you’re doing. You have to take the battery out and hope it doesn’t do it again. But the absolute worst thing BY FAR is when you start recording, get to the end of whatever you’re doing and watch the clip back only to realise that it only records the first few seconds of video and then freezes and only captures the audio. GoPro say it’s bc you’re not using the right SD card which is a load of crap bc I use the exact one they recommend. I’ve never heard of any of these issues happening with an insta360 which is why I will be making the switch.

I am confused, at 3:45 - why are your selfie sticks out to the side and the camera is in the middle? I have never seen this happen before. Most videos 1> hide the stick, and 2> if they do show up its usually from the bottom. Holding the camera angle wrong? I dont know. I can't imagine that stitch line on the MAX is normal. Something is wrong, and hopefully if everyone is getting that, it has been fixed with firmware or new models. Both cameras currently sell for $399 each with no attachments in early 2024. BTW - I have not used my X3 yet except for webcam mode which is GARBAGE without bright lighting. I hope they fix this in future versions.
So for all these shots I have the lens on. I forgot to mention this, but Institute seems to have no problem with it and maybe that’s why Max is having a problem.
I buy X3 and after 14 days i just send back. Bad, bad image if you dont have a bright day. The most amanzing is my action camera from 2015 (white brand) filming 1440p have must more quality X3 at 5.3k. X3 = a good marketing.

don´t buy the gopro max. I got one and the screen stopped working. Now it´s unuseable because i can´t reconect anymore without the screen. Its a very cummon problem unfortunately

I think the only good advantage of GoPro Max is the audio quality. The better brightness and contrast can be corrected in the software

So when you’re filming in 360 with a stick, you have to be in a certain mode to stitch out the stick?
It automatically does it as long as you’re in 360 mode

X360 video quality is completely blown out regarding how the clouds and sky look. Whereas the gopro retains the details and colors
