Former opening batter Imran Nazir said in a conversation with GeoNews on Saturday, that he was open to returning to the cricket field at the age of 42. He said,
I have decided to return to cricket again. So while I can’t play at the highest level, since I have been out of cricket for a long time, it will take me some time to get fit, I understand and I believe that if I improve my fitness and cricket skills, if I work for a month, I can play good cricket.

There is virtually no chance of Nazir making the Pakistan squad for the T20 World Cup, but it would be a huge achievement for him to return to any level of the professional game at this age. He last played for Pakistan in 2012 and despite not formally announcing it, is considered to be retired.
He made his Test and ODI debuts for Pakistan in 1999, at the age of just 17. He would go on to play just eight red-ball matches for Pakistan, but in 79 ODIs he amassed nearly 1900 runs at a strike rate of 81. He found a home in the T20 format, and is remembered for his blistering 33 off 14 balls against India in the 2007 T20 World Cup final.
