"Coles" an excellent video on Murphy's Point PP. I think it's actually the best one I've seen and the most thorough / inclusive of the activities the park has to offer. The access / safety warning about Narrows Lock and the weight limit of the bridge was very informative and I'm sure will be very helpful to some. I frequent this park quite a bit as it is only 1-1/2 hours away from east end of Ottawa. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Welcome to our neck of the woods, and yes Murphy's point is a beautiful park, the water is beautiful the trails are great and the camping is fantastic Bon Echo is a beautiful Park as well, Dont leave out Charleston lake either. Happy Camping Cole's.
Thanks for your video about Murphy's Point. We'd stayed there a few times before but never really explored much. You inspired us to do a bit more exploring and we really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it! We explore the parks so much more now that we are doing the park review videos. For years we would basically see our campsite, the beach and maybe a trail or two but now we see so much more and it's so much more enjoyable.
What a fantastic video! You explained exactly what we needed to know about the park and heading out there. Great music too! We are going out there this week. Perfect timing, and thx for the tip about Narrows Road. Stay well.
We absolutely love your videos, especially this one due to the very beginning content. Pretty sure we have a fairly good idea of the town you live in as I recognize the town and you drive by our old farm. Thanks for posting such informative videos
Wow, it was brave of you to take that route to Murphy's Point PP. We were doing some scouting and ended up on that route in just our truck. It would definitely be safer to stay on 15, our RV alone would exceed the weight limit of that tiny but beautiful bridge.
It's beautiful park and area. Big Rideau has some great bass and pike fishing for shallow water anglers. Perth is pretty little town, as is Westport, which is not too far off as well. Smiths Falls is also a nice little town for a half day trip. Thanks for your review, Glad you enjoyed your time there.
Thanks for bridge weight lesson. That was eye opening about Narrow Locks Road. 😳 We loved seeing the mine and the mica too! Was that “Hen of the Woods” mushroom/fungus ?
Nice video we never seem to get there as we like Charleston Lake so much but maybe next year. We are off to Mikisew tomorrow and we booked that based on your review. No more solo camping this year we will all be going. Last weekend we had family camping at our place so it will be nice to get on the road.
You should really check this park out. If you like Charleston Lake you'll like Murphys Point. If you can, do them both, one right after the other and maybe throw in Bon Echo to switch it up to a BIG park experience.
Very cool. We didn't know you could do a night tour of the mine. Our youngest daughter couldn't make it on this trip but she wants to go so we'll be back and be sure to do the night tour. Thanks for the tip.
Been to a lot of provincial parks never this one. Now thanks to you guys we're going to have to squeeze it in hopefully this fall. Love your choice of music! Off to lake superior provincial park in the morning. If you have never been (Agua Bay), i highly recommend it!
We've been to Agawa Bay and it was beautiful. The water is sooooo cold to swim in though. We hope to head that way again next season. Have a good time. Happy camping!
I’m heading to Murphy’s Point from Burlington Ontario for the first time with my 32ft TT and was wondering what route to follow to avoid lock 34. Do i take hwy 15 to Smiths Falls then head towards Elmsley and follow road 21 to Murphy’s campground?
This is a much appreciated video that prompted me to book for the end of August for a full 7 days. My mid size truck, and 14ft trailer have a 7100lbs dry weight. Say at 8200lbs I should be ok for that narrow Locks passage, right? Thanks for all your videos
The red stick is the non potable (not drinkable) water tower at the trailer sewage dump station. It has a hose attached to it that you can use to help clean out your sewer hose and hose down the sewage dump area if you make a mess.
Hi Cole’s! Love your videos! Re: Murphy’s point……are there a ton of caterpillars there? Would you say it’s not a good idea to bring a dog due to ticks? We are thinking of going mid Sept. Also how long does the Mica Mine trail take? Thank you so much for the always great tours and info.
We didn't notice any caterpillars there. As far as ticks, they're in pretty much every park. I wouldn't hold back bringing your dog. Just make sure he has tick prevention like Simparica Trio, which is what we use. The Mica Mine tours are only in July and August and take 1.5 hours. Other times, you can do the self guided tour along the trail but you won't be able to enter the mine. Have fun and happy camping!
We are planning a trip to Perth and Canada for next summer so we will check out this campground!! Thanks for sharing!! Is it hard to get a site here? Excited to follow along!! We also post videos of our travels and campground reviews on our channel!! Melissa from RV Rolling with MJ
Awesome. I checked out your channel and had a good laugh at the song you used for you channel trailer. We used the same song in our Bruce Peninsula Nation Park Review this past June. It's a good song. You mush use Epidemic Sound too. Happy camping!
Your videos are amazing, your going to have a hard time topping this one. We went to Earl Rowe last week ,didn’t think much of it . No swimming due to bacteria and no pool because of Covid. It was to hot to walk on trails.Best thing about Earl Rowe 30 amp for air conditioning.
Thanks, we're glad you like them. It will definitely be hard to top this one but we'll keep searching and try. We are going to Earl Rowe for Thanksgiving as it's central for many of the people joining us. It's close to Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which has great hiking and crevices. Back in the 80's I worked as a camp counsellor for the Big Brothers Organization at their camp that was right in what is now Mono Cliffs Provincial Park. It wasn't anything back then. Lots of good memories hiking in that area.
Loved the video and the tip about knowing the weight of your units and the heights of your unit is really great advice. Just curious did you actually go across that lock bridge you warned us about or would you rather not say
We hear ya! We do everything in our power to not have to drive through Toronto. What we do now is visit 3 or 4 parks in the same general area on the other side of Toronto so we don't have to do multiple trips through it. On this trip we did Murphys Point, Bon Echo and Silent Lake. Last year we did Charleston Lake and Presqu'ile in one trip. Happy camping!
We have the same issue from the East side of Toronto, there are so many parks in Southern Ontario for us to visit. There are scenic routes around the "Smoke" if that helps you at all
Great video. Love the local content for us Ontarian’s…. Thanks also for mentioning the water filling station. Not that “scenic” but it would be helpful to get some details or mention on the dump station setup, location. Thx again!
Cell Phone Service: If you've been to this park please let us know your experience with cell service.
As of July, 2024: Fido and Rogers good service. At least a couple of bars of LTE. No problem with email, browsing, even video streaming OK.

A frequent watcher, excellent videos! We just returned from Murphys Point PP for the first time and LOVED it!
Good job as usual. The big Ree Doe Rideau is great for fishing. Perth is a lovely town.
Thanks for the excellent information.
We loved Murphy’s Point PP. we stayed at site 46, the smallest pull through with just enough room for our 15’ trailer. Great review 👍
Great Video, good information. Thank you so much. we di visit this park in Spring these year.
Thanks.
Great video! Thanks for warning on the Narrow Locks Rd. Key information.
I wish I would have known about the weight restriction before we went. It's not ideal for turning around there. Thanks for watching.
Welcome to our neck of the woods, and yes Murphy's point is a beautiful park, the water is beautiful the trails are great and the camping is fantastic
Bon Echo is a beautiful Park as well, Dont leave out Charleston lake either. Happy Camping Cole's.
It's a great part of the province for camping. We love the parks in that area.
Thank you for the wonderful video! Love your channel. I’m heading there this weekend!
Make sure you register for the mine tour when you check in. It's free but you need to register. Have a great trip!

Awesome video again guys! added another park to my "must visit" list!!! cant wait to see where you go next!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great place to bring your road bike and take a trip. The Rideau Lakes bike tour from Perth to Kingston route passes by the park.
Thanks for the tip.
Loved this park too. Thanks for the video.

Thanks so much for watching neighbour! Happy camping!
Big thank you for all the details and amazing video very effective to get an idea about eh park. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the review. I think we'll head out there this month! Great video!!!
When you say accessible, would a stroller move through the trail?
A stroller would be fine for the McParlan House Trial and the Lally Homestead Trail. Happy camping!

I have seen a few weight restriction signs that have more generous limits for trailer towing too.

You should have no problem. The max weight is 5 tonnes which is about 11,000 lbs. You're well under that. Have a good time. It's a great park.
Hi! Thank you for your video. Could you please explain. What is the red stick on 3:08 for?
The red stick is the non potable (not drinkable) water tower at the trailer sewage dump station. It has a hose attached to it that you can use to help clean out your sewer hose and hose down the sewage dump area if you make a mess.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thank you for your answer.
Love Murphy's Point
Love the mine tour and seeing the mica in the lake. Great park!

Great video. I'd like to explore more of eastern Ontario but having to go through Toronto is a bit of a deterrent.

It sounds like a north approach from Hwy 7 might be better with a larger trailer?
You can also stay on Highway 15 until Rideau Ferry Rd (County Rd 1). That would avoid Narrows Lock Rd
@@dawnmacmillan7062 thanks!

Where can we expect a review from Bon Echo?
I haven't created it yet but I'm hoping to have it out next Thursday morning (Sept 9th).
