So, the M16 works a little differently than other guns. It's fantastic damage and has the highest range in the game, BUT she has to readjust every time she stops or starts moving. Use it while running without stopping or just standing and sniping, and it's one of the best in the game IMO. Harpoon gun works only well underwater, out of water they fall like turds. Even then, most players just advocate luring enemies to near land to shoot, and ignoring the gun entirely. Finally, the Ship section of the game! You figured out the initial deathtrap and the starting danger! Love this section much, very excited!!
Part of the charm of the series is seeing you figure out stuff, think a guide would defeat the purpose of a blind playthrough (you can always check a guide after you are done with a level if you are curious about where they were). Loving the series
Also, if a pickup ever lands somewhere you can't pick it up, leap onto the EXACT spot where it is and hit the action key like crazy! She will skip the landing or sliding to pick up the item first, then slide down. This also works to cancel certain animations, like her recovering from a fall.
The Harpoon gun can be used for anything under water, fishes, sharks, enemy divers, etc. When you shoot there isn't much sound, but she does shoot (2 harpoons, reload, 2 harpoons, reload, and so on). Since the harpoons are a little slower than bullets though, sometimes she might miss targets that move fast from side to side, gotta have them in sight and in best case coming towards you or moving away from you when shooting.
You can use the harpoons underwater, but she has to reload it after 3 or 4 hits, so the best strategy is to fire while swimming towards the enemy, pass him and turn around, which gives you time to reload. In Diving Area, to get the emerald secret you had to open a hidden door in that room by walking near it, and press a switch. The golden one was in that opened room at the very end, which you have to enter before going to the monk.
Great work on this one, i used to hold my breath on that first bit on 40 fathoms used to give me so much anxiety. I agree with others saying about using a guide deffo think it will hinder the experience a little bit. Just did this part myself the green secret is in the maze room with the burners but all you get is a load of harpoon ammo anyway. I think that and the m16 are the most annoying weapons in the game. M16 takes too long to fire. Anyway, another great video my man! 👍
Don't look at a guide it will spoil it for you. Bear in mind TR2 level design is different from the first because TR2 does a pretty good job on all levels of looping you round to where you need to be

Even underwater it‘s mostly better to just swim away from the enemies or to just lure them to a place where you can shoot them from out of the water. The M16 on the other hand is a good weapon. You just have to stay put in order to fire (no running/jumping). It‘s best for enemies in the distance, also it can reach veeeery far.
The Diving Area used to terrify me as a kid. A lot of rooms you have to blindly drop into and you can hear those flamethrower dudes breathing and stomping around off screen. Why are they so loud!? 😭

M16 is better for long stand by range so to speak...and yes sometimes game make you overthink everything and sometimes you need a lever to open the door that alsooo have a lever to open another door and etc..and thats why we love Lara hahahaha dont bite your self you are doing great for first time and yes jade dragon was in that area with time fire pits and it was timed door

But sometimes I check guides if I get hard stuck for around 15 to 20 minutes. But only check the section I'm stuck and nothing else.

yeah, it's only good when you're stationary (it sucks)
It also allows you to shoot from further away, so it's useful against enemies from afar.

26:53 it's actually possible to get that medipack. it's silly but you have to jump on top of it and press action before lara begins to slide.
maybe the "hold to action" feature from the remaster screws this up though, so you might have to deactivate it in the menu
