Thanks a lot for covering my video suggestion, and sorry I took so long to comment! We think very similarly about the value of time and peak-health years... finding that crossover point. Time and health are (so far) irreversible trends... whereas earning/making money is not. As you know, I have my Filipina wife in Europe with me now (one month in). She's not materialistic, but I will be monitoring friends who influencer her :) ... she is already a little shock/curious about those around me who spend everything they make. Maybe we use the maternity leave benefit here, before returning to PH in 1-2 years. The more I think about this topic, the more I believe for those of us in positions like yourself and I, the psychology is far more important than the number of the spreadsheet. And at the heart of mastering the psychology is a deep disinterest of the every-increasingly vocal opinions of those around you who assume your life choices are wrong - just because they are very different to the choice of their own :)

Yes, very well said. The recent video was also from your suggestion. Having a Filipina in Europe is also a special topic. I hope it works out well for you and she won't change.

Hello! As someone who shares a similar dream, I find your videos incredibly interesting and informative. I'm unsure how long I want to wait before pursuing my plans, but your video makes me reconsider if my goals are a bit too ambitious and greedy. As you mentioned, I don't want to spend my best years working away. I'm not sure if you've addressed this in a past video, but I'm curious about how much you plan to save before making the leap, if that's something you're comfortable sharing.

Nice to hear that you are in a similar situation. My parents say I should not talk about a specific amount. I like ETFs. Based on the historical data you can estimate an expected profit and then depending on your lifestyle you can easily calculate how much investment you would need. And then you can multiply this amount by 2 or 3 as a safety factor.

@@sebastian_philippinenI agree; it's probably wise to keep that information private. Regarding the saving strategy, it seems we're on the same page, and it's been working really well so far. I suppose what I'm really debating internally is the kind of lifestyle I want and for how long I'm willing to postpone this dream. In general I seem to be happy with living quite frugally so I have a "modest" number in mind im going for but its gonna take few more years for me to achieve that. Anyways, looking forward to your future videos!
