  • The Ghana Empire thrived in West Africa from around the 6th to 13th century. The empire is not connected geographically to the modern state of Ghana, but was located in the western Sudan Savannah region (modern southern Mauritania and Mali). Watch!

    Soninke people did great by forming this empire. Mande people are great (Mandinka,Soninke, Bambara).🇲🇱Also the name for the kingdom is Wagadu the king is called Ghana which mean warrior king in Soninke language.

    The Empire was formed by the Soninke people who are a Mande group. The first king was Dinga Cisse , the name of the empire is Wagadu the name of the kings was ghana which means warrior king in Soninke language.

      The dominant view is that Takrur was a vassal of Wagadu.
      The state of Takrur to the west had already adopted Islam as its official religion and evolved ever closer trading ties with North Africa. Which is why they alied with the Almoravids and hosted them in their early days.

    This was the whitest rendition of an African theme I have ever seen. Every body is white! The architecture is Romanesque. This is very insulting to me as a black man.
