Hey, I dont think it should be a problem, however, I reccomend you to inform the consulate to be on a safe side. You can email them at support-india@ustraveldocs.com. hope that helps

No you will get the counter number there in the consulate.

I went to the prescribed hospital to do medical examination but they turned away because I don't have the appointment dates. Hi Pratik.. Thanks for this video. I just wanted to know about the type of folder which i can bring to the interview. So do they allow expanding folder? Like the folder with lots of pockets in it?
I would recommend what is called as a harmonium folder. It has lot of pockets, if you see a lot of youtubers have recommended that. And its really handy and useful. Also, if incase you have not bought a folder yet, I would further recommend to buy a transparent or a translucent harmonium folder as it is written in the instructions.
However, if you have already bought a folder no worries as I did see a lot of candidates having a opaque harmonium folder.

Yes they do charge. I am not sure of the charges.
No you are only allowed to take your documents and handkerchief.

Hi sorry for the late reply, for the biometric you will need the ds160, appointment confirmation, sevis fee reciept, i20, passport. I would recommend you to take a transparent folder. But i have seen a lot of people there not having a transparent one.

That depends on the number of people who have got the same slot. Mine took about half an hour. But i would recommend to keep enough time. Atleast 1 hour.

No phones, you can only carry folders that have the documents.

Hi, I am unaware of the FX1 category. I just applied for the student visa, FX1 category is an immigrant visa category, I would recommend you to take advise from some visa agent who deals with this category.

It is okay to wear casuals, but I would recommend formals. You may carry your glasses. Whenever the ofc officer asks you may remove them.

Well, I am not an expert to answer this, as I myself am an engineer. However, what I feel is if you are going to a reputed school, your main intention is to learn, you have some background to explain why are you doing this course, enough funding to support your stay and the course in US and the most important thing Confidence, then you can get the visa. Hope this helps.
I am not able download complete DS-160 form but i have single print of DS-160 having bar code and number . Will that work.

Thank you so much for the kind words. There is no as such waiting area, however people do wait outside the building. You will find a lot of people either waiting to go in or the family members waiting for the candidates.

Is visa fee receipt required? I have paid the visa amount however I am unable to find any receipt for that but I have MRV fee payment details in my appointment confirmation document. Is it enough to use as proof for visa fee receipt??
Yes the appointment confirmation is enough. You don't need anything extra. Just in case, you need to know the unique account number, to which you transfered the money. Also if possible take the bank statement that the transfer is successful.
Again the things that I told are just for extreme cases. For me as well i didn't have the MRV reciept they never asked me that as well.

Sir ,i have ds160 application id which i got in August and same id was given during visa application also , unfortunately I didn't find visa slots and ds160 got expired.but visa application has same id but now i had to create new ds160 application id ..my visa confirmation has different application id and ds160 has different Id ...is that a problem sir?? Hi Pratik, Typically how much time the VAC process takes, assuming all documentation is clean?
I got the same day appointment for VAC and Consular. VAC is at 8am and Consular at 10am.
I just wanted to know from your experience if the 2 hours gap between VAC and consular is good enough assuming a smooth process at VAC.
So it acctually depends on how many people are there that have got the appointment at the same time. I would say the max time should be 1 hour. But if possible ... i would reccomend to not scchedule the biometric and interview at the same day... as sometimes you never know what may happen... so if possible ... i would reccomend to reschule such that the interview and biometric are on different days!

It is near the US counsulate. I am no sure, but I dont think you can keep luggage there. Only small things like mobile and wallet only can be kept there. But I am not completely sure, you may cross check this with someone.

The sticker they affixed on back of my passport mentions the date of my original appointment i.e 1 year from now. But the interview was rescheduled as I got earlier date. So basically the date on the sticker and actual appointment date are different.. Will this create any problem?
I dont think it should create a problem. Are you still at the ofc? You could just ask them and clarify.

Yes, there is something written on a piece of paper that you have to read. Not necessarily aloud.

Definately, it is just recommended that the two should be on different days and not on the same day. Infact for my case as well, I had my interview after 2 days of my biometric just like your case.

So I had gone for my F1 visa, however the procedure should be same for b1/b2 as well, after the OFC, you have to report to the US consulate, for interview at the date and time given on your appointment confirmation. Prepare well for the interview, take all the important documents with you. All the best.

Hi what name did you put in ds160 form. If that is different from the cgi form you can go through the pinned comments and get a solution.

So till my knowledge earlier there was a fee reciept, now there are the payment details in the appointment confirmation itself. So till I know they don't really ask about the fee reciept

You will need all originals only, i guess only your i20 has to be printed, bothside printing is fine for that.
Hey i made a mistake in my cgi profile while setting up the acc and got confused which caused my registered name incorrectly. The name should be as follows last name(khan) first name(mohammed uzer ahmed) but by mistake its last name(uzer) first name(mohammed uzer) n now when i try to edit it its not giving me an option in the cgi website. But my correct name is present every where in my i20, passport, sevis fee, ds 160 on it its correct name which is mohammed uzer ahmed khan. So my question is can this b done in the embassy at tym of biometric or is there any other way to b done from my end. Bcoz i tried and cgi portal is not giving access to edit the name. Any suggestions will help!
Hi, have you paid the MRV fees ? If not i would recommend you to create a new account.
Because at the US biometrics i saw there was ds160 form correction, I am not sure about the cgi portal corrections.
@@pratikian mrv fees as in the appointment fees right? Of $160?? Yes i paid that because after paying that we can book a slot if i am not mistaken. I think its because i paid i am not getting an option to edit. I read an article on quora that the helpdeak at embassy does the correction. But that post was 2 yrs back

So i20 is an official document given by US universities after you are accepted for a program. I20 has the details of the school, program, finance etc.
If you apply contact lenses, would it be an objection?
I am not very sure about this, but I would recommend not to wear.

I am not sure about the time period, but I guess you cannot do the correction yourself you may have to visit the OFC center during your biometrics. However, if you havnt yet paid for the appointment then you can fill a new ds160 form

There are chargeable lockers. I dont know how big they are. But usually people keep their mobiles, wallets etc there.

@@nag1508 in the OFC nothing is allowed except your documents. But you can keep these things in the locker.

So for b1/b2 currently the earliest possible date is 31st August 2025 .. however I would recommend you to monitor everyday atleast 2 to 3 times, you may get an earlier slot.
If its urgent you could also try other consulates.

@@yashvmandlecha there is DS160 correction office just next to the biometric center. If there is a discrepancy they ask you to go there. However, I don't know if they change the appointment confirmation details as well.

For me it was arround 15 mins. Once you get in you will complete everything in 15 mins, max 30 mins.

There is a locker facility. You can keep there. Or else i would recommend to bring someone with you, who can stand outside. As locker maybe expensive.

So I stay in Mumbai thus I did not have to book a hotel, however, one of my friend visited here she stayed at hotel embassy suits. She said that was a descent hotel and based on her review I can recommend that.

Yes there is a locker that has a fee of Rs.500. You can keep your mobile there.

Hi, so when you fill the form for interview there is a place where you have to select language of interview. You can specify the choice of language there.
How much does it took to complete whole process ?? If i have OFC on 12:30PM can i catch Train at 2:00PM
It acctually depends on how many people are there for an interview in the same slot and how long your interview is. Having said that I don't think it should go above 45 min. You can decide accordingly.

I20, is a document provided by the the university that has given the admission, I20 is a legal document that confirms that you have been admitted to the university, and all the financial details.

I am not sure about Ahmedabad, depending on the type of visa you are applying for you can book the biometric and interview date together on th cgifederal website.

Hi bro, i have updated my ds160 due to deferal of admission. So i need to give both ds160 confirmation or the latest one? Also do i need to inform them about please update my ds160 or only speak after they ask anything?
So if you have updated your ds160, your appointment confirmation has the new ds160 confirmation number, then you dont need to do anything else. Ypu may bring both the ds160 for the interview .. but if the new 160 number is updated everywhere it is fine.
@@pratikian in appointment confirmation ds 160 number is of old one. I have already took the appointment from the old ds 160 number. Since I have deferred the admission I have to do some minor changes in ds160

brother will they give back the passport or do they keep it
If you clear uour interview they will take the Passport and give you the Passport after 4 to 5 days with the visa stamp in it

So you can book the appointments at cgifederal website. Make sure you have filled your ds160 and if you are a student and are applying for f1 visa then you will also have to pay the sevis fee. If you have done all that go to the cgi federal website make your account fill in the details and book the biometric and interview dates.
I guess you can book both the dates together based on the availability, but I would recommend not to do that. It's always good to book both at different days as if there is some delay ,in biometric interview you can make sure that it does not affect your interview.

You have to book the appointment for ofc and the interview together

How much it took for the entire process ?
For me it was arround 15 mins. Once you get in you will complete everything in 15 mins, max 30 mins.
Photocopies of documents are required to take with person
So they did not ask me any photocopies, and I had just taken the photocopies of my marksheets thats it.
