iClone Realtime vs iRay - Street Talk clip

  • I was bored during the Covid-19 lockdown, so I decided to rerender this short clip using iClone's iRay. With the built-in realtime render, it took 1 minute 40 seconds to render, while the iRay took 2 days and 18 hours!! This is on my aging 5+ year old PC, running i7-5930K 16GB 2xGTX980 on Windows 10.
    With the iRay render, I can see much greater details on the skin, and especially the eyes. But was it worth it? What do you think?

    You need to turn on denoise and lower the max iterations.

    Thanks for the test. Iray and all ray trace engines are amazing! But for me not worth the wait. Unreal Engine now has real time ray tracing and people are working on porting that in to Iclone. That is my dream. Real time ray trace rendering inside Iclone oh myyyy! :) 👍👍👍
