"Burton to this Taylor" is about Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor who were a famous Hollywood couple. They got married and divorced a couple of times. She's basically saying that the relationship in the song is very tumultuous like they were.
This video was NOT for a film, but many of her videos are like mini-movies they are that cinematic and good.
To add to your comment, Elizabeth Taylor had such a reputation as a repeat divorcee that it’s still being discussed today, which made it the perfect choice for Taylor Swift, with her (undeserved, imo) reputation to reference. Richard Burton was an actor, as was Swift’s boyfriend at the time of the Reputation album. Elizabeth Taylor was married 8 times to 7 men, with Burton being the only man she married twice. She also divorced him twice, so it’s not as if he was her one true love in the end, which I think adds something to the song, too. She’s acknowledging that the relationship isn’t one that ends in happily ever after, but there was something there worth giving a second chance regardless.

Probably one of the few artists who can go from country to rapping and still sound like herself. It's an MV about Tay setting herself free from herself, or her old persona. Becoming a badass. Like she wasn't already, but now she's more of a badass.

Terell, I swear the entire Reputation Tour felt like it was written as a bad ass musical. She’s VERY visual and enacts all the songs. If you get a chance you should react to something from the Reputation Stadium Tour. I’d recommend I Did Something Bad, Don’t Blame Me or King of My Heart. (I’d recommend the entire concert.) The concert opens with “Ready For It?” And we were not.
She's just a grown-up dorky millennial theater kid, like the rest of us 😂❤
Love your recommendations! I've admired much of what I've heard about TS over the years (minus the BS), but not her music because my go-to music is very hard rock so I didn't bother to listen. The Eras tour put her back on my music radar so I decided (finally) to check out what the big deal was. The first video I clicked on was a live version of "Ready For It?". I was shook. It's the first video I show other people now.

Hi Terrell, just a note from this old timer, :) Burton to Taylor means Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Two Hollywood actors who met in the 1960's while they were filming the movie Cleopatra. They married and had a very tempestuous and romantic relationship. They divorced and later remarried and divorced again. She was one of the most beautiful women in the world, you should look up her picture, she actually had real "violet" eyes a real rarity. He was a. phenomenal actor. Really like how you dive into the lyrics.
This song is the album opener for reputation, so the lyrics like baby let the games begin makes more sense.
You should watch the live version of Intro + Ready For It if you want the best version of this song. Her videos are awesome but her stage presence is amazing.
