The media labeled her a serial dater that was crazy. So she wrote a song from the perspective of the character that the media labeled her as. It’s entirely satire and a clapback at the media 🙌🏻
Her words were something like “I can work with a character like that!” It’s hilarious because she’s so sweet and generous. It usually takes about a month into a new relationship before the rumors are all over the internet. She’s basically laughing at how ridiculously stupid the media is about her personal life. This is not portraying the real Taylor. ❤
This song and my ignorance made me really dislike her lol I was 32 with a young daughter when this came out. I was like this is a terrible message 😂 (Meanwhile listening to rap and metal lol) I had no idea it was satire until she started dating Kelce and I finally paid attention. Like for the most part I was just somewhere between oblivious and ambivalent about her, but I felt like an asshole when I realized I had just been making assumptions and moving on. I’m all in now though, especially seeing her with Trav ❤️
FYI, for the first minute of this video, Taylor tells how she came to write Blank Space. It's fun to hear her explain it. Taylor performs "Blank Space" at The GRAMMY Museum th-cam.com/video/p1Zt47V3pPw/w-d-xo.html
I’m pretty sure this isn’t her saying that’s how SHE approaches relationships, sounds like she’s sarcastically describing how tabloids/gossip visualize her dating life. I am far from a dedicated Swiftie but at this point I’m fairly certain that even if she really were to tell a guy up front all she was looking for was a weekend fling the gossipers would blame her for the (nonexistent) break-up because of course, she has to be a “psycho” to have a “list of exes”. 🙄
The media labeled her as a SERIAL DATER who could have any guy she wants, that she flies all around the world and gets these guys. After she gets them she is so clingy, jealous and basically act insane. There's more to the interview but that's the main point. Of course being a lyrical genius Taylor took that BS and made it into a song. Whenever she wasn't dating she would have a "blank space" where you could write in your name. Then after she gets the guy, she gets all clingy jealous just like they labeled her. Basically this one of her songs that's like: FINE! OF YOU ALL EANT TO LABEL ME, I WILL HAVE FUN WITH IT AND MAKE A SONG" Basically an Fu@k U song to the media and haters 🙂
Hmm 🤔 First time I see you with a reaction!! It feels like you started good in the beginning pointing out what you thought about what the song is a little and then you just started judging’ missing out the point of what the lyrics are about! I will give another chance with you if you come up again on my suggestions though, because I don’t wanna just judge you, I wanna learn if you are a hood critic or not at all!!
Great writer, amazing music and she's pretty but she is the biggest narcissist ive ever seen. When this came out in 2014, this was my favorite song on the album. But real shit, she's crazy. Lol
The song is basically making fun of the character that the media sometimes portrays her as
So this video makes fun of her actual behavior which the press sometimes accurately reports on.
@@richlisola1why are you here watching this then? Learn something REAL about her
@@123_LGB 34 no kids. Travis Kelce crying on the sideline and shit. She a witch.
Taylor talks about this, about the rumors, so she took it and wrote a song about it.

The part with the apple refers to Eve and Adam. Meaning Taylor is seen as “the seductress”
I like how you always know somewhat of what she’s talking abt in her songs 🙏
It’s written as satire to make fun of the way the media portrayed her dating life as a young woman.
This is all satire. She’s making fun of how she’s portrayed in the media.
Did you notice that she said “Boy’s only want love if it’s torture”……not Men!
She is an exceptional human being.
Satirical!
Are you wearing Apollo Creed's boxing shorts?
you should react to end game
"Boys" only want love if its torture...not "men"

I like how you are swiftly realizing this isn’t a put on-Blank Space is Taylor Swift. Narcissist supreme.

its satire…
do you not understand satire
