    let them ride the rails, but give them plenty of opportunity to jump off the train at any time :)

      @@wizardsofthetower3802 thanks i just enjoy building encounters so i try to have as many options as possible with little hints or hooks thrown in to keep them in the over all story that ive set them on. So if they decide to go left and not right, then i just input an encounter or what have you that i add little items or npcs that may be involved in the main story and see where it goes from there. Maybe not the way that others may like but i find its a nice middle ground between a true sandbox and a railroad or storied campaign. :)

      @@swordsnstones Options for both you and the players is a great way to do it. The players feel like they have options then at that point
