      I've run both the 1060 and 1080 in my crawlers and while I do prefer the 1080 (greater tunability, smoother throttle response), I'd say the 1060 is still a fair choice, especially for someone on a budget.

      @@poorboysrc I have a 1080 in my PG4A but decided to go with a 1060 in the AT4V just to get up and running quickly and because I had to buy quite a lot of other parts. By the time you have bought the transmitter, ESC, steering servo, gearshift servo, 2 diff-lock servos, battery, paints, etc, all the ancillary parts add up to quite a lot of money. I know you swap out your connectors and I'm sure if you have a hobby shop locally you can pick up whatever you want easily but I do not have a RC shop within 100km and have to order everything online. If you plug a 2s lipo into it while it's set for nimh will it damage the esc straight away?
    I've just gone and done that on my first Tamiya build. 🤦‍♂️
    Once I noticed I switched it to lipo.
    The kit came with the thw-1060-rtr esc and torque tuned motor.
    I bought a dumbo rc x6f transmitter with the x6fg receiver.
    I plugged it all together with a 5200mah 2s 7.4v 50c lipo and nothing happens when I try to use it.
    I bound the transmitter and receiver according to the instructions, so that shouldn't be the problem.
    The strange thing is, when I i switch the gyro on and wiggle the car the gyro works!!
    Any ideas on the problem?
    Have I blew the esc?
    There wasn't any weird pops or smoke from it when i connected it wrong.

    • @poorboysrc
      @poorboysrc  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The nimh/lipo jumper isn't the issue in this case. In fact, all that little jumper does is it sets a voltage cutoff when lipo is selected. This prevents you from over discharging your lipo. When in nimh mode, the voltage cutoff is removed, allowing you to fully drain your nimh pack.
      The other benefit of this esc is that it self calibrates. So if your gyro is working, that leads me to believe your radio and receiver are bound correctly. But I can't say 100%, as I've never used that radio before. But it's very popular, so I trust it's a good product.
      Have you checked to make sure your esc is plugged into your receiver correctly? I've seen people plug them in backwards. Double check that and let me know! 👊🏼
