I love this helicopter! And I remember it was showcased in the movie 2020, where the Halos are flying the elephants and giraffes to the Himalayans, definitely a scene to remember!
I don’t think there is a physical maximum design. The limit would be the strength of the materials used in the frame and a turbine engine that could produce the required lift. Sorry for the vague answer.
It's a stunning helicopter 🚁, the biggest and badest on the earth 🌍. Its much better than the american chinnok. However a version has to be built or adapted to have the wheels retractable in the fuselage. If I had money I would buy one....!!!!!
Mi-26 spends most of its operational time down for long-term maintenance. There is a reason why the Indian AF got rid of it and replaced it with the reliable CH47.
The reason they replaced it was because they did not need to lift such heavy cargos at once. And both helicopter are reliable when we take account their size and I would like to know your source on what you said about MI-26 spending mmost time on the ground

Damn that helicopter big. This is the first video I seen one fly. Great video, Thanks.👍
Wish everyone did documentaries like this!
Great channel
I flew it. it rocks you to the sides. in an ordinary helicopter, you are rocking back and forth. in mi 26, you are rocking to the sides.
i wonder what the physical maximum size is for a helicopter
