"...I was a young man full of hopes and dreams. But now it seems to me that all is lost and nothing gained. Sometimes things ain't what they seem" That kills me so deeply😣😢
I agree with Dave, Somewhere was the first Maiden album I've ever heard and it blowed my mind and till now It's the most important inspiration and one of the fave of Maiden albums to me!
there is no video on the internet from that show but some have said tv stations filmed it and the tapes are "lost" somewhere in time. The bootleg audio is all over the internet. I think it was the best set list they ever had.
SOMEWHERE IN TIME The band's FINEST HOUR!!! The follow up SEVENTH SON was when they reached their peak!!! Two Monster albums! BRAVE NEW WORLD came close! Hats off to the Creator of IRON MAIDEN STEVE HARRIS and his Troopers!!!
I know I’m a little late but I couldn’t agree more dude! Somewhere in Time is an absolute masterwork from front to back. Not only my favorite album in Maiden’s catalogue but actually my favorite album of all time. The band were just firing on all cylinders on this album and the songwriting was just incredible. The fact that most of the shows on the Future Past tour sold out within an hour or two speaks volumes to how much fans were dying to hear this material. Then like you said they basically did it again (at least for me) with Brave New World and Seventh Son, my 2nd and 3rd favorite Maiden albums respectively. I know this is a hot take and I do like Number of the beast but compared to most of their other material it’s actually on the lower end of their catalogue for me at the #11 spot and was always my least favorite of their 80’s output besides the debut (which I also do like though). Gangland, while not horrible, is just ok imo. The real atrocity is Invaders; that chorus is just horrid.😖But the rest of the album ranges from solid to incredible! I just think they REALLY hit their stride on the next four albums. That being said, it’s still a great, solid album in my book👍🏽
The best album in years? After Powerslave and Piece of mind? I don't think the majority of Maiden fans feel those were particularly WEAK albums :p Don't get me wrong, though, Somewhere in Time is my favorite after Seventh Son.. If I could, I would watch ALL their tours in the 80's.. this is the one that was never truely filmed professionally, and it's a shame!
I agree totally! Rod bloody Small-wallet - nooooooo, we've just spent a blooooody fortune! Somewhere in Time would have been a spectacular live film. I'm just not sure Bruce's voice was up to it but saying that the Live after Death video showed he was having 'on and off nights'. Should be been done all the same imo!
Maiden should add for the next tour setlist three rarely performed songs from this album: - Caught Somewhere in Time (replacing Wasted Years) -Alexander the Great (replacing The Sign of the cross) - Stranger in a Strange Land (replacing The Clansman)
I'm straight but I reckon the England football team should go back to small shorts. There are more footballers who are 'out' these days. It could be a distraction to the opposition!
Adrian Smith was the MVP of the Album ...Outstanding

I can't believe that Iron Maiden have never released anything from the "Somewhere On Tour '86". Audio or video. It is a top album.
You mean their best album?
'Cause it is. Easily.
It wasn't recorded on video, so there's no pro shot footage (from the band'ß side at least) to release.
Strangers in a strange land was the live concert video from that album.
Bruce looked so damn hot in the 80's and early 90's! But particularly from 1982-1988! And I LOVED his long hair in 1984-1987! 🥰
Bruce is a monster on this album.. the best album !
One of my fav.. It is a pitty there is not a dvd for that tour.
The best album is The Number of the Beast, closely followed by Powerslave! Somewhere in Time is third tho.

Even at that time Nicco looks like oldman
you know,you know, you know
Bruce doing a Yorkshire accent 😂😂😂😂😂 Nailed it
they played the loneliness live on the first night in Belgrade and then dropped it

Could Davey's eyes be any more blue?? :3 Gotta love him ;D
He’s precious! 🥰
He’s adorable! 🥰
None more blue
Why they never play "Deja vu" or 'the Loneliness of the long distance runner" live, I'll never know? 2 of the best songs on the alblum
The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner has been played live... One time, in Belgrade, first show of the Somewhere On Tour..
exactly!
Alexander The Great

Wasted Years and Stranger in a Strange World are the 2 best songs on the album!
Yeah I should be able to find the show on cd. The set list was good but to bad Bruce didn't sound his best on that tour.

@Xeivous he's a happy man, I love his playing
adrian is so beautiful ❤
Mick Wall, Sky Monsters of Rock Show, great!
Cool I should try and get that show on bootleg. Wonder why they would drop one the best songs on the album?
Argh, the legs!

Done!
And your wish came true , but wasted years stayed
Es el mismo castillo que realizaron las fotos del disco fear of the dark??

Newcastle 😁
Nicko 😍
Mick wall with hair looks weird. He made some funny quips about maiden during their decline.
I wonder what beer Steve it's drinking there? Bass, Harp?
Hoffmeister, Skol
Why can't men get away with wearing shorts like that anymore? Women can. They can wear whatever they want.
Because its the 80s style.
I'm straight but I reckon the England football team should go back to small shorts. There are more footballers who are 'out' these days. It could be a distraction to the opposition!
because nowadays men look ridiculous, you can’t emulate mid 80’s iron maiden and look cool in 2023 mate
It’s not a good look. You can basically see mick walls butt at 9:54
They seem high lol
dave always looks high as hell.
