🇨🇦 Toronto was suppose to have something very similar. Google submitted a proposal to build a “Smart Neighbourhood” using Toronto’s undeveloped land to create a sensor-enabled, highly wired metropolis that can run itself.
Mind you, there was a strong opposition by the public; mainly due to privacy concerns. Ultimately Google ended up scrapping the entire idea.

and even if they put the blimps very high in the sky so they appear tiny? even if the blimps are very large they can still make them look like airplanes in the sky (which are not intimidating) by making them fly at higher altitude.

If I see a Amazon Drone delivering packages, best believe I'm going to shoot it down and take the package.
Hopefully they’ll have some kind of security system in place to catch people who will actually do this kind of thing. A few major lawsuits to make examples and nobody will be shooting down any drones any time soon

6:02 crazy how nonchalantly you just glaze over that fact but it's actually pretty substantial. What this also means is that your desires are being learned, manipulated and used against you by ad companies. These companies are already using the data from our google searches, social media accounts, and other internet activity in order to optimize their services....meaning the more these companies know about what you like and don't like, the more efficiently and effectively they can advertise and ultimately coerce you into buying their products
So while all of this is cool and futuristic sounding I wish more people stepped back and asked if all of this is even necessary. I don't know about you but I like going to the grocery store and picking my produce and getting that exercise. With the direction things are headed with covid this might all look appealing and make sense to be our next step but if things really do go this route i'll be disappointed
You’re right that companies use the data gathered online to help target their ads to the people most likely interested in their products or services. And people do find that intrusive and an invasion of their privacy. But the fact is companies are going to advertise. So would you rather receive ads that are more likely to be relevant to your needs and interests , or just a random barrage of irrelevant ads?
