What a great series of videos -- I have a pond that is spring-fed and the level of the pond fluctuates by 4 feet seasonally due to hot Texas summers. I am going to buy a RPS system because of your videos. Thanks for the excellent information. I have contacted RPS; they are an excellent company with great customer service. I'm excited about my installation to resolve the Texas evaporation problem, My fish thank you and so does my family -- well done!
Thank you! It has been an exciting project, and I have enjoyed the process and outcome. I hope you have similar results. I always hate seeing the water drop throughout the summer months. RPS has been great to work with. If you wouldn't mind using the RPS link below in the description to make your purchase, I would greatly appreciate it. Please circle back and let us know how it goes. All the best! - Adam
Love this project! I would wire up the float switch to a relay, which turns on a recirculating pump when the pond is full. That way, your waterfall never stops flowing, but you aren't wasting water. Keep the water in the ground until you need it.
Oh my days! I watch an awful lots of TH-cam. All different kinds of content. But this update is the one I was most looking forward to. Your pond is looking spectacular! It must be so satisfying for you to see it filling up. Well, your viewers feel the same. Great move Adam. 👍👍👍
Wow, thank you! That really makes it worth the effort to document and share all this with everyone. I am extremely excited for this to finally be happening. It's been 5 years of struggles. No more! Looking forward to sharing it with you all!
Looking good. You might just beat Adam from Home Town Acres. I'm thinking the winner is the pond that starts going over the overflow first. Now Adam at HTA isn't using a generator ... yet, so you've got a distinct advantage, but you've also got a bigger pond so... ;-) Love the idea of a waterfall bringing the water into the pond vs. the PVC pipe. I'm sure you'll be taking precautions for the water freezing if we get those sub zero days like we have in the past. Hasn't happened for quite a few winters (ponds haven't even frozen), but ... By the way, when you panned over to the end of your dock, it look like you'll be needing a dock extension when you get to the height of the overflow. Your step/dock anchor will be under water. Maybe you'll get lucky and the people that helped BammaBass with his side pond will come over and do a waterfall feature for your pond. Now that would be cool thing to video.
Thanks Pete! I spoke with Adam the other day. If he wants to have a friendly wager I'm down! Ha. I truly think if I went 24/7 with it, I could be full in 2 weeks. There is a weephole down in the well that will drain the line when the pump is off and everything else should flow into the pond. I suppose if it gets really cold the stream could actively freeze, but that would be some extreme temps. May just shut it down in those instances. I would love to have a pro help me out with the waterfall/stream. I have a vision in my head, but who knows if I can make that happen or not.
Adam, your pond is beautiful and I hope to be able to find a way to replenish my 3/4 acre pond with a similar setup. I need to go back to your early content to see the pond dig. I have been trying to get some information from RPS (2 emails, no reply and sent another yesterday) since 9/14 about a system and if they know of any well drillers in the Louisville, KY region. I see drillers in southern Indiana, but would like to find one close by to discuss with. I have 2 wells here already, both 100 feet and would need to be deeper to have a constant flow.
Thank you, Sean! I appreciate that. Hmm have you tried calling them? I have been working with them over the last several months and they always answer whenever I call. Emails can sometimes be a bit of a gamble. I would give that a try and see how things go. I have been very impressed by their customer service. As for well drilling, they may know of someone but I simply did a bunch of 'googling' to find drillers in my area. I believe in my well drilling video I talked about cost/pricing. Hopefully that will help you get a frame of reference. Happy to answer anything I can!
Mine is looking much better, just took some time after installing the aerators. It was down about 8" before this rain, back to normal now. @@IndyFarmLife
After today we got a little over 4" and yes I have two valleys feeding the pond. With this much rain it we should have been really bad and hit the emergency overflow, but it was so dry I think that helped us out.@@IndyFarmLife
Yes, very good point. Those are in an area where nobody has every really been permitted to jump in. (Our kids are young). But I will absolutely pull them. Thanks for the reminder!!

I think it would look great if you open up the ditch after the pound is complete full and have a little "river" in backyard between the trees.
Had thought about that. Just recently closed it up. My fear is that it would be shallow, stagnant water. It wouldn't have much movement.
Wow thats looking great. Came up a lot
Thanks! Sure did. I can pretty much raise it at will now!
Been raining here in south central pa for the last 2 weeks.
It's been very dry here. I hope you are spared from the flooding that's been going on down south.

@@IndyFarmLife Thanks, Adam. This will be my "out of season" project.
Looking good! The hurricane should have helped out too.
Thanks Jason. We picked up about 1.5" from the hurricane remnants. How is yours doing?

Wow +8"? You must have some good watershed feeding it.
Nice! Love it when a plan comes together!

Keep it pumping, great update.
Thank you!
If you were in the path of the hurricane the pond would have filled on it's own!
I know! Those poor folks. How did you fare?
@@IndyFarmLife Got some wind and rain, now it's 95 degrees daily and 85 at night, Standard Florida weather.
@chargermopar well I'm glad you are ok!
@@IndyFarmLife Thanks! It's nice to know that you care!
That is a really cool set up, nice job!
It's always great when all your hard work produces such great results!
Thank you! Yes I'm really pleased with how its all turning out.
I’m betting if you power factored your pump you would get more run time out of the generator or the solar system
I won't claim to be smart enough to know what that is. What exactly would that do/entail?
Just food for thought if you let it run all the time it might burn your pump up. Just something to think about anyway looking good!
Good point! I'll have to consider that as I think about a solution.
It won't burn it out , just let it run out of gas
That stake just below the waterline is dangerous if you have kids jumping in. Safety 1st!
