I'm sure it'll work as a card game, like Slay the Spire, but I was really disappointed to hear they scrapped a lot of the simulation mechanics for the sake of simplicity.
They scrapped mechanics for the sake of fun. Apparently the previous design didn’t work as well as expected, so they focused on what worked. We shall see how it will develop.

Fluffy McWhiskers i would too. But many things sound better on paper then in practice, and project might have been to wide for a small studio. Inv Inc started as card game, and ended a top-down tactical stealth game, so game development works in mysterious ways ;-)

Nothing goes to the devs. This has nothing to do with a "better deal". Epic wants to create their own monopoly by NOT offering legitimate competition. The EGS lacks basic features like a shopping cart, for Pete's sake. This is proof Epic Games doesn't care about providing real competition and only wants to buy a.k.a. bully their way into the PC market held by Steam.
no. Its on Twitch on vods for free and its on itunes, anchor, tuneinradio and all those. As i was saying in the podcasts its just not safe here for those. Folks had copyright claimed my actual voice, and the video was getting claimed every single time. Until youtube fixes that. its just not safe

@@dennisthemenace4288 Why else would you go to the EPIC store. Exclusivity is the only way they can compete on Steams level. If EPIC has games Steam doesn't. And Steam could do the same thing but it doesn't, they got just as much money. It could give developers incentives but they don't. Honestly I hope EPIC store gets more exclusives to scare Steam into action.

The battle sections seem extremely similar to how it works in Slay the Spire. But with a much more fleshed out narrative.

It is Epic exclusive during the alpha for a year, but if you buy it in Epic you get the Steam key when it comes to steam.
