That's just the Illumination way tbh! Their movies are either boring or alright. I cannot really call this movie bad but I don't have much to say about it, it's just an alright film and I respect your opinion on the film, nothing wrong with liking a film.
Now we all understand why people go to watch this movie in suits. It’s such a cinematic masterpiece. Humanity will forever be impacted by this phenomenal piece of cinema.
I work in a cinema, and the scariest word of the month is "Minions", because every screening of it, every single one has at least 60 people, but the top so far was around 240. When you enter the room and see the rubbish left behind by 240 people (the majority being children) and start cleaning up, while behind you the credits start to roll with those cheesy pop songs and little Minions drawing you feel like being in a special kind of Hell.
The movie Minions, Rise of Gru, is unequivocally the greatest film of the decade, for now I question whether I, and humanity as a species, are worthy of this life changing masterpiece. Immaculate, extravagant, and brilliant are nowhere near enough to describe this film. This movie was truly encompassing of all emotions, along with profoundly polished animation, near flawless lip-syncing, and subtle and powerful moments of comedy. The scene where the minions comply with a request for peanuts by giving not the bag, but a single peanut, made the theater roar with applause, and led to a standing ovation in the middle of the film. In fact, that scene was a subtle criticism of the current economic “situation” regarding inflation, or shrinkflation, to be more accurate. However, the movie also includes more wholesome scenes, such as when the Minions (very graciously) almost crash an airplane with live passengers into an air traffic control tower. My first time watching the film, I ended up shaking, crying, and falling over, while the moviegoers around me began chanting pro-gru chants. When I woke up, I ascended to the astral plane and witnessed millions of human lives being saved because of this masterpiece of a film. Thousands of people fell to their knees at various grocery outlets and fast food chains as applause drowned out the ending credits. “Minions: The Rise of Gru” defines the expansiveness of what we as a civilization can achieve if we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to our craft.

Ok but the theater experience was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was more lively then any marvel film I’ve seen. Please dressed up, we’re clapping and getting involved. I genuinely enjoyed my time. 10/10 would recommend
Despite being an Illumination film, this movie was actually kind of alright. Imo better than the first Minions movie, I’d probably give it a 6/10 or so. Definitely even better if you go see it with Friends lol Just don’t ask what the Minions did in Soviet Russia from 1930-1953 😐
It’s dumb fun. I enjoyed the movie but if you really analyze the plot and all it falls apart and shows it’s really only made for kids to grasp. Also they’d probably be working for the US but canonically speaking pretty sure they were still in hiding at that time
after going to see Minions 2: The Rise of Gru, I have realized that Minions 3: The Rise of Gru is the movie that will change lives. it is so fantastic that I dont think I will be able to see a movie with a non yellow rounded goggle wearing protagonist. Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is love, Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is life.
I love how gru said his signature line “it’s gruvin time” and then he gruved all over the minions. Truly one of the moments in cinematic history, definitely a scene that was written.
whenever Bob (the minion) says "It's bobbin' time" i was literally sharting, my legs were shaking and I shed so many tears. such a breathtaking moment.
the Minions have consumed Nick's brain the same way Parasitoid wasp larvae will consume a Catterpillar's body. Eating away at it from the inside until there's nothing left but husk and wasp cocoons, or in Nick's case, Minion cocoons.
Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is truly one of the films that has changed my life. I watched it with my sister in cinemas using our own money. We placed our money in front of the cashier and said "two tickets for Minions 2: The Rise of Gru please" Of course we dressed up for the event. My sister and I wore our most formal dress and walked past the peasant children who didn't even bother to dress up for this special occasion.
I loved when the minions said "It's minion time!" and minioned all over those villains. I truly shed a tear when Gru said "You will die a GRUesome death". Peak cinema
What's depressing is that the story of the entire series is telling us that everyone except the minions, will age as time goes on. Maybe in despicable me 4, gru will be very old or in his mid 60's. When all these characters pass away, we will never know what else we can do. That is why the minions are the most important characters. They changed everything.
I started hysterically laughing during the funeral scene, it was too much. Everyone in the movie theater stared at me as I hid my face, but couldn’t stop laughing.
I say it is good fun. As a kid who grew up with all the other Despicable Me and Minion movies, it is something I continue to enjoy. It’s dumb, innocent and easy fun for yourself or to enjoy with friends.
when minions laugh im laughing too, when minions love im loving too, when minions have a good time im having it too, i want to be a minion, i want to be yellow and eat bananas, i want to connect in central minion net and learn minions language, i want to become a minion.
This could’ve been a dumpster fire, considering that it was 50% done before July 2020. However, the COVID 19 Pandemic actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise! That big delay gave Illumination more time to buff out the scratches and make this film on the level of great!
My favorite part of minions two was the morbius cameo, when he came out of the portal and said "its Morbin' time," that's why minions made a minbillion dollars at the box office. Truly an amazing film.
Idk if it is just me but I found the minions to be significantly less obnoxious in this film compared to the previous ones. Also Nun-Chuck was funny af
i almost cried when i went to the cinema and the dude selling the tickets said "im sorry but we’re out of limited edition minions 2: rise of gru popcorn buckets and cups" 😿😿
I dont think there will ever be a 'good' Minions movie. I think the whole point of their movies is to put the minions in silly situations. Probably so clips could be cut out of the movie and shared online in "minions out of context compilation". Which ironically might be the best way to enjoy the movie, or the minions in general
True, I feel like the way Illumination makes the movies is actually a good way of making them because clips from the movies get shared everywhere online and there's lots of gifs and videos about clips from the movies. Which makes Minions very popular.
Did your friend actually die? That was such a bizarre time and place to bring up that anecdote, especially with a pic of his face, if it’s an inside joke, which I suspect it is than whatever lol
My thoughts on this movie: - Gru is adorable. It just sucks that he's not the star of the show (it's a minions movie I know, but Gru's name is in the movie title too) - I really like Belle Bottom's design (she has a weird surname tho) - Lots of butt (like Jesus, I don't want to see Gru's butt) - I was a little intimidated by the nun character from Vicious 6 (tho she's my sister's favorite character) - The small details made me happy (the Queen of England's crown from the last Minions movie, the Cheese Ray scene parallel to the Freeze Ray scene from Despicable Me 1, Vector, etc...) - Scarlet Overkill > Vicious 6
Personally one of my favourite films I've seen recently. I didn't like it because it was good (though I did think it was good as well) but I liked it because of all the references. I liked it because we saw Nefario's back story. We know why Gru idolised villainy so much; because of Wild Knuckle. The film was heartwarming, but also very depressing in a way, as we finally realise why Gru became who he was. All of the parallels with Despicable Me 1: Cheese Ray, Bank of Evil, Vector, Dr Nefario, all of these things made this film great. It was a good film, and I'm glad I got to watch it with all my friends on the Premier night. We laughed and most of us cried at the end. But most importantly, we enjoyed ourselves. The Despicable Me series has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I loved those films, and whilst some (Despicable Me 3) weren't as good as others, they were still decent films at the end of the day. I hope Illumination continues to make these films with heart and soul rather than just for money, because that would be the worst way for the Minions as a whole to die out. Thank you to Illumination, Steve Carrell, and the guy that plays the Minions for making my childhood, and indeed my teenage to young adult life incredibly fun and worth while. Thank you for everything you've done. I couldn't have asked for a more fitting film to round off the story of the Minions.
The minions have kind of grown on me. I’ve went from wanting to hit one every time I see the color yellow to going “huh cool a minion I guess” and maybe smiling sometimes when I see one
I relentlessly hate on Minions, and have for years. Mostly as a joke at this point, but regardless, they annoy me. Any time I'm out with friends and they see a piece of minion merchandise, they always bring it up to me and say "Alec look a minion" and I always express my hatred for it. Everytime my friends see a minion post on social media, it gets sent to me. But, Nick is a person I respect, with opinions that hold weight and substance... I can't believe I'm saying this, but I might give this movie a shot. I'm gonna take my head out of my behind, try my best to enjoy it, and see if I can turn this hate into something beautiful and positive. Thanks Nick. :)
I can’t believe your friend dying before the movie u were gonna watch was just some passing comment like: “So we were going to see the movie, but our friend died… anyway-“

i was literally crying and shaking when Gru said “It’s time to rise, Minions!” It was so impactful to the story and plot.
Ok but the theater experience was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was more lively then any marvel film I’ve seen. Please dressed up, we’re clapping and getting involved. I genuinely enjoyed my time. 10/10 would recommend
I can’t tell which line I loved more “It’s gruin time” or “Minions, it’s time to rise.” Truly iconic
Despite being an Illumination film, this movie was actually kind of alright. Imo better than the first Minions movie, I’d probably give it a 6/10 or so. Definitely even better if you go see it with Friends lol
Just don’t ask what the Minions did in Soviet Russia from 1930-1953 😐
It’s dumb fun. I enjoyed the movie but if you really analyze the plot and all it falls apart and shows it’s really only made for kids to grasp.
Also they’d probably be working for the US but canonically speaking pretty sure they were still in hiding at that time
“They were acshally in the ishe cave zuring thad period”, - 🤓
@@busyg67 No they'd be working for the Soviets.
@@MrYogurtExists Actually according to Minions 1 the ice cave WAS in Russia.
after going to see Minions 2: The Rise of Gru, I have realized that Minions 3: The Rise of Gru is the movie that will change lives. it is so fantastic that I dont think I will be able to see a movie with a non yellow rounded goggle wearing protagonist. Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is love, Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is life.
Wow there’s a 3rd minion’s already
Imagine if the Minions didn’t wear googles in the the next Minions movie I wonder what they will look like without them
I loved the part when the minions said “it’s minion time” and minioned all over everyone
“It’s minin time”
Wait what
it's minionin time
I liked when gru said "it's time. I must rise" and then he rose all over everybody
It’s minion time
I love how gru said his signature line “it’s gruvin time” and then he gruved all over the minions. Truly one of the moments in cinematic history, definitely a scene that was written.
I liked the part where gru said "it'sminions riseofgruin time"and then he grued all over the minions
whenever Bob (the minion) says "It's bobbin' time" i was literally sharting, my legs were shaking and I shed so many tears. such a breathtaking moment.
I liked the part where Robotnik came on the scene and said "I'm like Gru except I'm the one before Gru. I'm.... Eggru!".
the Minions have consumed Nick's brain the same way Parasitoid wasp larvae will consume a Catterpillar's body. Eating away at it from the inside until there's nothing left but husk and wasp cocoons, or in Nick's case, Minion cocoons.
Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is truly one of the films that has changed my life. I watched it with my sister in cinemas using our own money. We placed our money in front of the cashier and said "two tickets for Minions 2: The Rise of Gru please"
Of course we dressed up for the event. My sister and I wore our most formal dress and walked past the peasant children who didn't even bother to dress up for this special occasion.
My favorite line in the Movie is when Gru said “Things are gonna get Gru-some” and Grus all over the villains
When Gru said : Minions what is your Profession, and the reply of ‘banana’ truly the greatest moment in film I’ve ever witnessed.
when Gru said "Time to get Gru-some", I shed a tear...
Your lack of a suit for this fine occasion appalls me, sir.
As someone who dresses in 1970s clothing everyday I really appreciated the accuracy of the clothes
Went to watch it today, people were actually wearing suits
Genuinely a pretty good movie
Honestly it was okay, it was very creative and I enjoyed some of the villains and gags
I loved when the minions said "It's minion time!" and minioned all over those villains. I truly shed a tear when Gru said "You will die a GRUesome death". Peak cinema
I have no clue if this is genuine or a morbius moment
This is probably one of illumination's finest works, not like thats saying much
The Midions: the rise of groo is just fine. I give it a b for banana
Me too, that scene was genuinely heart warming, didn’t expect from a minions movie of all things
@@zach1232j his death actually feels genuine but he seems to fake it just so he can retire and be out of the public eye
Minions the Rise of Gru will go down in history as the only movie to come 0.01% close to beating Morbius
I keep hearing Rise of Gru isn't bad and I'm genuinely confused if it's absolutely horrible like Morbius or if it's ACTUALLY good.
it's actually pretty fun if you go with friends and/or just don't take it too seriously
@@kendy4000 I see.
I got the same level of enjoyment as Despicable Me 2 so I'd say it was good fun
@@Mal-go5dl I love Despicable Me 2.
I say it is good fun. As a kid who grew up with all the other Despicable Me and Minion movies, it is something I continue to enjoy. It’s dumb, innocent and easy fun for yourself or to enjoy with friends.
It’s isn’t minions 2 is how gru became himself know it’s talking about the past
*When I went to the Movie, I saw half the people wearing Suits. Truly a great Day for everyone.*
the knuckles guy (cant remember his whole villain name to save my life) is totally gru's dad change my mind
Minions 2: It's morbin time!
when minions laugh im laughing too, when minions love im loving too, when minions have a good time im having it too, i want to be a minion, i want to be yellow and eat bananas, i want to connect in central minion net and learn minions language, i want to become a minion.
This could’ve been a dumpster fire, considering that it was 50% done before July 2020. However, the COVID 19 Pandemic actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise! That big delay gave Illumination more time to buff out the scratches and make this film on the level of great!
Was a lot better than I expected tbh, the jokes actually didn't make me want to die
My favorite part of minions two was the morbius cameo, when he came out of the portal and said "its Morbin' time," that's why minions made a minbillion dollars at the box office. Truly an amazing film.
@Kurtis omg hi kurtis i'm a huge fan 🥺
never ask what the minions did in Russia 1918 - 1953
Stop it

I actually really like the chracter design of the villains, its cool
I’m about to see this one and you bet I’m in a suit and tie
4:26 i dont think this is a very good way to mourn for your friend.
Idk if it is just me but I found the minions to be significantly less obnoxious in this film compared to the previous ones. Also Nun-Chuck was funny af
My man’s first shot in the video looks like an apology video
Minions 2 is truly a movie, It’s in theaters, There’s a plot, and it’s made by illumination.
dude he really grued in that one line where he said "its gruin time"
Rise of gru is a cinematic masterpiece
I literally felt every emotion imaginable, better than anything I have ever experienced.
All jokes aside though nun-chucks was the funniest joke in cinema history
i almost cried when i went to the cinema and the dude selling the tickets said "im sorry but we’re out of limited edition minions 2: rise of gru popcorn buckets and cups" 😿😿
How dare you, good sir, sully it’s good name by suggesting it be expected to be an animated disaster
I dont think there will ever be a 'good' Minions movie. I think the whole point of their movies is to put the minions in silly situations. Probably so clips could be cut out of the movie and shared online in "minions out of context compilation". Which ironically might be the best way to enjoy the movie, or the minions in general
I enjoyed the movie so much that I became a Minion
Or as I like to call them...
"Minion Moments"
....
I need bleach now
@@Ixarus6713 mmmmm
True, I feel like the way Illumination makes the movies is actually a good way of making them because clips from the movies get shared everywhere online and there's lots of gifs and videos about clips from the movies. Which makes Minions very popular.
Nah this film was more of a despicable me prequel than a minions sequel because it focus more on Gru’s origin story than the minions
My favorite part is when Gru said, “ It’s Gruin’ time!” And proceeded to Gruin everyone’s whole careers
Did your friend actually die? That was such a bizarre time and place to bring up that anecdote, especially with a pic of his face, if it’s an inside joke, which I suspect it is than whatever lol
Sir chum pal
I will crush your house and build a billboard for the UP AND COMING NORM 5
My thoughts on this movie:
- Gru is adorable. It just sucks that he's not the star of the show (it's a minions movie I know, but Gru's name is in the movie title too)
- I really like Belle Bottom's design (she has a weird surname tho)
- Lots of butt (like Jesus, I don't want to see Gru's butt)
- I was a little intimidated by the nun character from Vicious 6 (tho she's my sister's favorite character)
- The small details made me happy (the Queen of England's crown from the last Minions movie, the Cheese Ray scene parallel to the Freeze Ray scene from Despicable Me 1, Vector, etc...)
- Scarlet Overkill > Vicious 6
the minion tic tacs were so good bro
Dude i loved the scene were gru teamed up with morbius from morbius to tale down obama with the infinity gauntlet 🍌/10
When Gru stood up and shouted "It's MORBIN' TIME !!" The entire theatre MORBED themselves. Definitely the movie ever written by a writer
This is some of the dialogue ever written for the screen.
writing this comment despite 24fon in this very video stating he believed Morbius is unfunny and has always been unfunny
I wasn’t expecting much, but I have to admit, I shed a tear when Gru said “it’s minion time”
Gru: Rise of minions
Minions: The Rise Of Gru was the movie of all time, when Gru said "its Gruin time" i nearly shed a tear.
The minions have kind of grown on me. I’ve went from wanting to hit one every time I see the color yellow to going “huh cool a minion I guess” and maybe smiling sometimes when I see one
I like the part in the movie when Gru says “It’s Minion time” and then proceeded to Min
so how'd it go
I can’t believe your friend dying before the movie u were gonna watch was just some passing comment like:
“So we were going to see the movie, but our friend died… anyway-“
Another great video!!
Minions: Rise of Gru is truly one of the movies ever. The script is written, the plot is there, and the characters are acted. I even shed a tear when Gru said "I'm gonna gruin this man's whole career." One of my movies of all time - Jeremy Jahns
Better or as good as despicable me 1
Annoyed that people ruined the movie for others by being loud etc as seen on tiktok, along with others *memeing this like they did morbius. Stop ruining this movie, it’s good.
Everyone who is making the “Gruin time” jokes have either never watched the movie or sadly clinging on to whats left of the Morbius joke.
I mean being loud at a movie theater isn't the biggest deal imo, if it's genuine reactions to something at least, if it's loud for the sake of being loud, that's where the problem lies

My favourite part of Minions 2: The Rise of Gru, was when Gru turned to the camera, said "It's morbin time" and morbed all over the audience.
Can't wait for people showing like they cosplay Payday characters when going to watch DM 4
I like the part where the minion said "it's minion time" and minioned all over everyone.
Nick looks like Ethan Klein's little brother that was hidden in the basement and forced to watch animated movies.
